I liked that it was next to the lake and an awesome coffee house (across the street). The manager was awesome!
For the price I was expecting a 4.5/5 star stay, but it fealt out of date and dark. The restaurant resembled a dennys and it was understaffed. The customers were bussing their own tables in order to sit down (this was in May so clearly they were not 100% staffed yet). That aside, we were never able to just get a good cup of coffee and light breakfast. Nore was the patio right on the lake like it suggests it was.
The Staff is exceptional..especially when we check in!!!
Not a Thing! The Lakefront is our Choice!
room location - I have stayed many times at this hotel - this is the 1st time I left disappointed - see what I did not like but I will stay there again
Rigid check in at 3 pm - would not even talk to you then - and at 3 pm I was in a HUGE line of folks trying to book in with only one attendant on duty - I hit the summer cruise ship time - hotel was not able to cope with volumes - buffet breakfast had little food available due to high guest volumes, they hazzled me on waiting until 11 am to leave room despite checkout is noon - were knocking on door to ask to me to check out even thought I had put the 11 in the system as when I was leaving - hard to get service or billing in restaurants due to high volume melt down - they seemed quite used to be able to "ignore" customers as most were one time cruise ship customers unlike me that comes again and again
The hotel had several strong points - the lobby and common area was large and had several taxidermy animals on display. The hotel is on a very large lake the you can see the water planes taking off and landing. A shuttle service is offered to and from the airport and to down town which was very convenient. Breakfast and dinner is available at the hotel. The staff was warm and attentive.
The hotel could use some updates as the carpeting and the furniture seem dated. Housekeeping could have done a better cleaning the carpet. The breakfast buffet could have had a better selection and presentation for the high cost. Dinner at the restaurant was good, and affordable. With a few updates and more attention to detail, it could be a better experience.
The lake view and the convenience of shuttle bus.
The service at the restaurant was rude.
Location and staff
The lake view
Run down
Ac not working
Pathetic breakfast
Slow receptionist
The staff was great!
Restaurants were so expensive for really low quality food.
Facility is good
There has a ant in our room
Probably the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at. From the taxidermy nightmare lobby. To the hot endless The Shining hallways with peeled up walls. To the room where the toilet paper holder fell off from the wall. The only AC is the window unit that our view faced someone’s bathroom. And to top it all off the restaurant was inedible and a disgusting mess. The most outrageous part is the price tag. $500 a night and breakfast for two was $56. If you’re staying in Anchorage do yourself a favor and avoid Lakefront.
First of all the type of room we reserved 3 weeks in advance and had a confirmation letter stating that we should have received a king bed with free breakfast. When we checked in they said all king rooms were full so at 1:00 am we didn’t have much of a choice - also that particular room did not come with the breakfast buffet which was $40 for two . I call that bait and switch. Texted the resort when we got home and only response was Sorry. Hotel need some upgrading
The Deck at the Lakefront Hotel is one of our favorite places in Alaska! We visit Alaska every summer, and stopping at the Lakefront Hotel for breakfast has become a cherished tradition for our family. My husband and I have always loved watching the float planes take off and land while enjoying a delicious breakfast, and now our son enjoys the experience just as much. The view is absolutely beautiful and truly unique.
The food is consistently excellent, but what really keeps us coming back is the outstanding service. We always look forward to seeing our favorite servers, Rita and Boyd. They are incredibly welcoming and provide the best service in town. Their warm smiles, genuine conversations, and attentive care create such a friendly and inviting atmosphere. They make every breakfast feel special and are a big part of why we return year after year.
If you're looking for great food, amazing views, and exceptional hospitality, The Deck at the Lakefront Hotel is a must visit. We can't wait to come back again next summer!
This hotel was located far from town and railway station. They did provide a free shuttle bus. Maybe Ok if staying a few days but for an overnight, not convenient. The lake outlook was lovely but the receptionist upon check in was extremely rude and unhelpful. She was dismissive and unable to answer questions regarding the operations of the hotel. The concierge nearly had a heart attack delivering our bags to room, as it was SO far from reception. It took 15 mins walk to get to our room. The only good thing was the lady server at breakfast - thank you, and apologies but dont recall her name! Couldn't recommend this hotel, there are others closer to town that Im sure care about you more!
The hotel was not as advertised. It was dirty and run down. Hotel staff were rude and unhelpful. We were there to two nights and I witnessed several other guests having issues with rooms and service. We were very disappointed, especially for $700/night. Hallways and guest room floors and walls dirty, air conditioner filter in our room was dirty, and food was nothing to write home about. There was a dried wet spot above my son’s bed that appeared to have mold. We will not stay here again and I cannot recommend this hotel.
