Staff were really friendly and helpful
Could do with more lights in the room, but apart from that was perfect
Location of property was very convenient and the parking discount was helpful for our short stay. The team kindly gifted us 2 free glasses of champagne for my birthday which was very appreciated.
We found the room quite small for the price point to be honest. The facilities in the room, hairdryer, iron, fan etc were useful however the shower in the room was extremely hot and no matter how much we tried to turn it down, it didn’t seem to get to a comfortable temperature at all. The fridge also did not work. The lights were on but none of our drinks etc were cold which was disappointing considering it was a warm day when we arrived and also during the night.
Lounge bar
Building covered in scaffold
Room was SO dark. Couldn't get standard lamp or desk lamp to work. Empty biscuit packet instead of full one. The squeakiest floorboards I have ever heard in a hotel!
I found the bed very uncomfortable.
Breakfast was ok, but the room where it was served was so dark that I couldn't read the menu properly!
Location excellent - used to be buzzing in meeting rooms, bars and restaurants but not now , shame
We agreed an upgrade where we bid an additional amount prior to our stay - fun concept . We had room 555 which is spacious but in general we felt the colours were clashing sofas sort of beige with a red and black carpet. Bed was comfortable but with all old buildings they creak! Loo was downstairs so if getting up through night partner would wake. That said bed was v comfy and bathroom facilities full of good products and it works. Breakfast was good and attentive staff. My issue if at £300 for one night - I just remember it years ago as a 4/5* experience, it seems a little tired now. Not sure I’d pay for the upgrade unless you are prepared for quirky and 2 level stays.
As we were checking out the guy in front of us was complaining about noise - guy in reception shut him down saying he should have said something at 3 am - really? Zero listening and problem solving - there’s a balance
Fix the small issues and we will return as we are in Glasgow a lot but just get feeling that’s not going to happen
Very clean, very quiet.
Dark and dingy. Stayed in a Club room with a window that overlooked the ceiling in the bar. Not good value at all, far far better places to stay in Glasgow.
It has a nice feel about the it in the rooms overall when on a higher floor.
Samina on reception looked at us as though we were something on her shoe when we arrived. She clearly thinks she is a little bit too good to be a hotel receptionist. On the other hand, the lovely young man who was on the desk when we came back after was the entire opposite - pleasant and respectful.
Friendly staff, good room size
Felt a big run down in parts especially the room. The breakfast pastries were not good.
Great location for King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut, only 3 mins away and for the Mini Grill Steak House
It was all great
Didn’t accommodate my request as confusing with booking
Clean and spacious room with comfortable beds.
Staff were great - very friendly, welcoming and helpful. Decor good. Location very convenient, and room comfortable.
Room was a little on the small side, and no aircon so in summer I'd imagine it would be very hot. No light to work by - could have done with one light that allowed you to work, or see to put make up on. Finally, I'd not stay in the room I had this time again as there was quite a loud underlying hum as if from some sort of industrial fan which woke me up very early.
Good location for station, downhill 10 walk. Quiet location in the city. Bed was very comfy.
The room was fine for an overnight stay, just not my taste in decor, very black and grey, corporate. Only left one towel but I’m sure we could have asked for another. We were in a ground floor standard room.
