Still waiting for hotel to come back to me after I put a complaint in. Not booking this hotel again unless I’m contacted
Pros:

My favourite hotel in Blackpool. The wait staff were excellent at breakfast. Made sure I got some gluten free toast

Cons:

Put in a room with non opening and sealed window. This is a very old building. I didn’t feel safe. Given one fan for cooling. It was boiling with no chance of fresh air. If we hadn’t been exhausted from the heat we would have left. I have emailed the hotel and manager is looking into it. I’ve had no reply since. No teaspoon for a morning coffee. We had to use a pen. Only the back up lift was working. The main lift had been broken a week. It was like fawlty towers. I paid a premium price for a 2 star stay.

Couples stay for 2 nights
Pros:

Beautiful Victorian hotel, full of character. The public areas of the hotel were very well maintained. Staff were pleasant and helpful. The room we stayed in was clean and the bed was comfortable.

Cons:

I had to go down to reception for milk each day as only enough for 1 cup each provided. The room was lovely but in need of refreshing while keeping it's character.

Unclean and poorly maintained room with hazardous waste made for a very disappointing stay.
Pros:

The location is excellent and convenient for Blackpool’s attractions. I have stayed at the Imperial Hotel before and had a much better experience, which is why I booked again. The housekeeping team who attended after I reported the condition of my room were outstanding. I met them near the lift, showed them the photos I’d taken and they were genuinely shocked, apologetic, friendly and professional. They came to the room immediately and did everything they could. They were a real credit to the hotel. I also appreciated that an iron was brought to my room within 5–10 minutes of requesting one.

Cons:

Unfortunately, this stay fell well below the standard I expected from a 4-star hotel. On arrival, the bathroom had clearly not been cleaned properly. There was a used, stained piece of toilet paper left on the toilet, which I found disgusting, especially as I was travelling with my young daughter. Before I felt comfortable letting her have a bath, I ended up cleaning it myself with bleach.

The bathroom and room showed numerous signs of poor maintenance and cleaning, including black staining around the bath, taps, window frame and sealant, deteriorating silicone, hair left behind, dust, chipped woodwork and marks on walls and surfaces. The room itself was much smaller than the room I stayed in previously and felt tired and in need of refurbishment.

The staircase leading to the rooms had a strong smell of urine. The room phone didn’t work, there was very poor mobile and internet signal, and overall the room was not what I expected.

When I reported the issue to reception, the receptionist was polite but didn’t apologise and simply said housekeeping would be sent. In contrast, the housekeeping staff themselves were excellent. My disappointment isn’t with them; it’s that the room should never have been handed over to guests in that condition.
