Good price and reasonable location - tram from Piccadilly Station to Salford Quays around 20mins, so it's okay for nipping in and out of the city centre. Handy for Old Trafford if going a game there, equally, can hop on tram straight to Etihad from just outside the hotel. Salford Quays nice area for a stroll, there are a few bars/restaurants around the Lowry theatre, so location is fine. Nice restaurant for breakfast overlooking the water, plenty of breakfast choices and room is spacious with all needed for a short stay.
The Copthorne could definitely do with some investment in the bathrooms in particular. They are clean but a bit dated in terms of decor. However it's balanced by it often being reasonably priced - you get what you pay for and it has the benefit of matching city centre budget hotels that are infinitely more noisy and not as clean and comfortable. I have stayed a few times and never been disappointed so the decor is a fairly mute point for me - but if you're looking for a luxury toilet/bathroom then it's not in that league.

Didn’t like the shower over the bath because you could not take the shower head off because it was fixed on the sealing
