I liked my room and enjoyed a brief swim in the nice pool
Pros:

My medical appointment was for 7:30am... too early for breakfast. By the time I got back to the hotel, it was too late, so I missed breakfast entirely. Luckily, I had an energy bar! The high point of my stay was a walk through the nearby nature park, established by Mayo, to the best Italian restaurant in town.

Cons:

I would have appreciated expanded breakfast hours. And free coffee! A bottle of water in the room would have been nice.

Pros:

The location was so nice and secluded. The pool felt amazing and the food was delicious. The little gym came in handy as well.

Location Location Location (and price) for the win! Everything else fell short.
Pros:

We had prepaid for the breakfast, but unfortunately, due to my daughters appointments at Mayo, were not able to enjoy. The location was perfect for her 7am cardiology visit. We were able to stay close by and not have to stress about the drive from East Mesa. The price for the room was good for what we needed the room for.

Cons:

The hotel overall seemed very warm. Not sure the air was working properly. We were able to keep our room cool-ish, but it did take a while to cool down. The room was not a clean as I would have liked. The bedside tables had not been wiped down and I'm not sure the floor had been mopped or swept. The bed was quite squeaky as well. There was also no faucet for a bath even though there was a bathtub - just showerheads, but we managed to get the tub filled so we could take a bath instead of just shower.

Not one thing.

Cons:

The entire hotel was overrun by kids staying there for a soccer tournament. Unable to use/enjoy the pool. Kids were running in the halls in the evenings, i called front desk/complained but to no avail. I eventually went into hall and confronted the kids running and told them to please stop. I visit scottsdale several times a year. I only chose sonesta select bc i figured it would be quiet...um not only was it not quiet but there was nothing "select" about the room and overall facilities. I have no intention of returning. Also, the black top damage @ hotel entrance was extremely annoying! Unbelievable hotel guests had to drive through "giant potholes" coming and going. What a dump.
