Newport Beach Film festival stay
Pros:

The presentation of the facility is very nice, kind of big but it's a conference center so I guess that's to be expected.

Cons:

The distance from the parking lot to the lobby. If you're tired, just be aware. My room also had several electrical outlets that weren't working. Also, my room was not the most spacious. But very clean.

Pros:

The hotel is clean, quiet, and comfortable. The restaurant is very good and reasonably priced. The staff were helpful and friendly.

We noticed that the bed sheets were not being changed daily. Although housekeeping came to “clean the room,” I observed that my bed still had crumbs on it and the sheets remained wrinkled and appeared undisturbed, indicating that the sheets had not been changed.

Communication between the hotel booking.com was not well handled.

Pros:

It was a great location with wonderful staff! The front office staff were so welcoming especially Sophia who was always so kind! The rooms were clean and spacious! The valet staff were also wonderful and they always handed my girls toys while waiting which I thought was such a smart and thoughtful idea!

Overpriced, poor value, and disappointing service
Pros:

A very few members of the staff who were kind, relatable and actually nice and welcoming. It is this group of staff (valet and lobby staff) who were the reason you would feel welcomed.

Cons:

Admittedly, I booked this hotel quickly while at work and did not fully review every detail beforehand. Still, at nearly $500, I reasonably expected a comfortable, well-equipped stay. Instead, I received a very basic room with an average bed and virtually no included amenities. More concerningly, the connecting door between my room and the adjacent room did not lock properly from my side.

There was not even a complimentary bottle of water. Wi‑Fi was also not straightforward (I work in tech, so I am familiar with these things): despite creating an account and enrolling as a member to access the free option, the connection process was unnecessarily difficult and appeared designed to push guests toward paying an additional $19.95. On top of the room rate, self-parking cost $45 ($65 for valet), and breakfast was not included. Nearly $500 for an average room, without basic conveniences, is simply not acceptable value.

The reception staff were not openly rude, but their attitude was cold and unwelcoming. I felt treated with suspicion rather than as a paying guest, as if I stole from them and they just can’t prove it. I noted the employees’ names but will not identify anyone publicly; the broader issue is that this approach falls far below the standard expected in hospitality.

The only reason I am giving one star is the lobby and valet team. One employee I spoke with while waiting to be picked up (who was a former college basketball player) was genuinely kind, engaging, and personable. He and his colleagues were the only people in the building who made me feel welcome.

For the price, this hotel needs to offer significantly better value, clearer access to amenities, secure rooms, and a much more hospitable front-desk experience.

Wokld not go there , Hyatt oppoiste corss the street is better. Free wifi, cheaper parking , newr lobby and rooms

Almost 300 USD per night. Wifi was paid , parking more expensive than down town San Diego. Gym noise transfer to the room. Cleaning lady banging on the door at 08:00 to ask me when will check out ?!?

Would not recommend
Pros:

Left my room early AM and came back 8 hrs later at 5pm. No one had cleaned the room. Front desk said they would send someone right away so I left again for 30 mins and they STILL hadn’t come to start cleaning yet. Rooms are spacious but service here blows! Also hallways are very loud

Pros:

Building and room was very nice, morden with a lot of things to do and get. Room was spacious for me and my partner, shower and restroom was well kept.

Cons:

Personal preference...restaurant/bar downstairs needs more fruity cocktail options other than that its a very nice place to eat and drink
