Stay clear - crazy overpriced tourist trap scam.

Unfortunately many hotels in NYC are in a vertical decline. Park Lane is the perfect example of a hotel that doesn’t care about its decline but maintains exorbitant pricing that’s totally not representative of the services it provides.

We are still checked in, spending almost $700 a night just for the dirty window view of the park while the AC is broken, and they have placed in the room a cheap Chinese external unit that’s super loud and doesn’t let anyone sleep at night. Best part? Also the electrical panel of the room can’t keep up and sometimes the electricity goes out when this little AC unit struggles at high.

Also since its pipe goes through the window the shades can’t close and you get a blast of sun first thing in the morning.

After complaining to the front desk 3 times I was only offered another room with exactly the same problems and no manager ever reached out. Ah, also forgot, the WiFi at least on the 25th floor doesn’t work so forget it if you want the luxury to work from your room.

I spend 100 nights a year at hotels for work and all of them half the price of this one and never have I encountered such a thing in the US.

Bottom line - Park Lane is unfortunately a tourist trap scam.

The AC cannot be set to a desired temperature. The engineering guy came to our suite for a minute and said there is no heat so the AC control would not work. Only super cool air condition or none.

Atendimento da recepçaao, o bar/restaurante praticamente sempre fechado, o quarto muito antigo (pouca luz, ar-condicionado barulhento e nao gela bem e blackout nao funciona bem.

The location is central, but there are many other hotels in the same area, so this is not a real advantage.

The hotel was old, dirty and mouldy. The air conditioning did not work. Instead, there was a very noisy machine blowing air in from outside, which also caused poor insulation. The room was difficult to sleep in.

The areas under the beds and in the corners were not cleaned. The bathroom mirror had mould and green buildup that repeatedly made me feel sick. The rusty iron was almost unbelievable. Basic amenities expected from a five-star hotel were missing.

I complained about the cleanliness every day, but the same dirt remained throughout my stay. I have photos of everything.

At checkout, they charged me USD 50 for packages delivered to my room, although I had not been informed of this policy in advance. They also tried to charge me for breakfast for four people, even though we never had breakfast and we were only a family of three. When I pointed this out, they removed the charge immediately, as if they were doing me a favour.

I stayed only because they would not refund my money. Otherwise, I would not have stayed even one night. We had to buy our own bed linen and towels.

Do not be misled by the price or location. There are many cleaner and better hotels nearby. In my opinion, the conditions were unacceptable.

Rooms were unnecessarily large with what felt like a half decorated and furnished room. Too much random space. Paid extra for view of Central Park but only on floor 7 so I could just see a tree. The hotel also uses AI messaging tool / bot for customer service. The bot asked if I was celebrating a special occasion and I said it was my honeymoon, but no acknowledgment of it when I got there. I mentioned it to staff at reception and they said “you should’ve told us”. Well who have I been messaging then?! I also saw other customers arguing with staff over the messaging bot and the fact that due to it not being staffed, they don’t truly know about how their customers are feeling.

I was disappointed because there was no coffee/tea facilities in the guest room and I had to ask for kettle every time , usually in 4 stars hotels These are basic stuff for guests to have in thier room !! I don’t know why there was no kettle in the room with free coffee/tea bags, I wish if you can provide this .
Also I wish guest can enjoy having a drink in the roof top The darling , apparently it’s only for breakfast which is $80 each, I usually don’t have breakfast in the morning, but I would love to enjoy my morning coffee with this view on the roof top .

Ar condicionado quebrado, quarto sem blackout. O primeiro quarto que nos colocaram não tinha blackout e o ar condicionado estava quebrado, só percebemos na hora de dormir e acabamos dormindo nesse mesmo, acordamos cedo com o sol literalmente no rosto. Fizemos uma reclamação e pedimos para trocar de quarto, demoraram pra solucionar o problema e quando colocaram no outro quarto, o ar condicionado também estava quebrado, tinham dois ventiladores dentro do quarto.
