Excellent
Very poor treatment during my stay. Concierge ignored us on arrival and we had to take our suitcases to our room. Bar manager Kevin was rude to us and stated a mistruth. Not the service we expected for $1000 per night. It is a hotel where the staff are not invested in their clients.
First time at this hotel. Was in town on business for 11 days.
The hotel is distinguished by its staff. Everyone I came in contact with had a pleasant, kind and helpful demeanor. Room I had was a bit small and the windows don't open as they have panels installed over the original windows for what I assume are energy efficiencies. The panel would rattle when the wind kicked up. The title of my review has to do with where the hotel is located - right smack dab in the middle of the business district. It's a virtual ghost town on the weekends and not much is open around the hotel. I didn't mind as it made walks very pleasant but worth pointing out depending on what you are in town to do. Overall a very sophisticated and upscale hotel with great service and good people at the helm. Would stay here again.
Everything was great.
Clean, excellent service. Our room had a nice table and chairs to sit around. Not a suite, but it lived like one. In room dining was excellent.
We appreciate staying at the Langhamboston each year we visit Boston. It offers beautifully appointed rooms featuring comfortable beds and luxurious linens for a good night’s sleep. They are known for their world class service and amenities which we delightfully experience daily. They are located right in the heart of the financial district which is walkable to all our favorite places we like to explore while there.
The Langhamboston doesn’t disappoint. A glorious place to relax and enjoy.
The Langham is a great place to stay if you want a walkable Boston experience while staying at a high-end place. Check out the Fed for drinks (especially spicy margarita), see the concierge (Marwan) for delicious meal recommendations, enjoy the thoughtful attention to detail in the rooms.
We've never complained about a property before in decades of staying at luxury properties over the world and don't have a lit of fancy or special requests. We mostly just want to be left alone and treated fairly. The Langham failed in key ways, including getting basic requests wrong multiple times, and rude employees. It's possible they were distracted and prioritizing folks associated with a wedding, but more likely we aren't their desired customer type. It's very much a "loudest voices" or "who looks the most like they are important" type of place unfortunately. Please do not avail yourself of the complimentary shoe shine service - a $1300 pair of shoes came back with polish stains and spots all over places they shouldn't have been, and no one took responsibility for it despite having pictures immediately upon their return. It's a very strange place - looks luxurious when you drive up, but a very regional character in terms of attitude and service, which was often brusque. There are other legitimate luxury options in Boston that don't behave in such a fashion, and actually treat guests equally with kindness, fairness, and dignity while also providing basic services like listening to requests and following through. This property failed in numerous respects, and we don't recommend it at all, especially at the luxury price point. It's not a luxury experience, and most importantly, if they clearly and obviously damage something of yours and you have pictures taken immediately, no responsibility will be taken.
Absolutely loved our stay at the Langham. The staff went above and beyond to meet our every need. The facilities are world-class and the rooms have top-of-the-line amenities from Diptyque handwashes to Frette bedding. The in-house restaurants, Grana and the Fed, are also set in an awe-inspiring ambiance with food matching those high expectations. Lastly, the hotel building's previous tenants were the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston, which adds a tangible allure and character to the hotel. Strongly recommend the hotel and will surely be back.
Location, room etc
The tiles in the swimming pool area were treacherous, I saw various people either fall or slip and recover balance.
That area is lethal..
The concierge David was super knowledgeable and helpful. Breakfast in Grana was great. Our room was very comfortable, well appointed and quiet.
In the business district so some of the surrounding cafés and other businesses were closed at the weekend.
The hotel was a 5 star hotel all the way including the location food and service
We travel a lot and had a wonderful experience here . It was our birthdays and they went over the top with wine cheese cookies cupcakes flowers and more EVERYDAY we were there. The experience the location and the staff are all 5 star exceptional.
The property blends classic New England elegance with contemporary luxury, giving it a refined but warm atmosphere. The room size is very comfortable too.
And David, the gentleman at the concierge was so kind and helpful- just what only an old charm luxurious hotel would need.
