It’s a grand hotel in Bilbao. Big rooms, big breakfast.
Pros:

The Hotel Carlton is a great, old building. It’s well located in Bilbao and the room was large. The bed was very comfortable. The breakfast staff were friendly and helpful. The front desk staff were efficient. The breakfast options were fantastic.

Cons:

It’s an older hotel, so the walls are pretty thin. Bring earplugs in case you have noisy neighbours. It’s a minor thing, but our shower had a leak in the corner of the screen and the floor tended to flood.

Pros:

The rooms are large and comfortable. We had a nice window that looked out on the street. The gym offered a fair selection of equipment.

Cons:

Staff responsiveness was not consistent. One time we asked front desk for a water, we were told to buy it from in room refrigerator. Another time, front desk staff graciously gave us 2 waters.
Treadmill wasn't working for 2 days before they fixed it.
