The location was nice, room was clean and nice in every way. Breakfast was very good! The hotel had character.
At 5 AM, we were abruptly woken up by the emergency fire alarm in our room. Understandably shaken, we rushed downstairs expecting a real emergency, especially since a fire drill would be highly unusual in the middle of the night. When we reached the exit, we met a staff member who seemed surprised that we were rushing out, even though the alarm had been ringing for several minutes. He assured us there was no emergency and told us to return to our room to sleep. After such a shock, however, we struggled to fall back asleep for the rest of the night.
When we asked the front desk for clarification the next morning, we were told that the night receptionist had briefly left the desk to attend to another task. During that time, a guest needed to exit the building immediately. Because the doors were locked and no staff was present, the guest pressed the emergency release button behind the desk to open the doors, which triggered the hotel-wide alarm.
While the incident itself was highly disruptive, the lack of proactive communication afterward was the most disappointing part. The hotel’s only response was a generic apology note placed in the elevator. No effort was made to check in with guests or offer a small gesture of goodwill for the massive inconvenience. When I initially inquired about this, I was told nothing could be done. It was only after mentioning my disappointment a second time during checkout that the receptionist called a supervisor and offered us two complimentary drinks. Since we were literally on our way to the airport, this gesture unfortunately came too late to be of any use.
To the management: A situation like this requires proactive hospitality. Even a small token offered automatically in the morning would have left a completely different impression. Having to repeatedly ask for the hotel to acknowledge the inconvenience left a disappointing aftertaste to our stay.
Sauber, sehr nett, komfortabel, relativ preiswert
Zimmer etwas klein
Need to keep up with replacing items, both at breakfast ( confitures, le eau, juice, etc) and in the room we ran out of body lotion on our 1st day and tissues. Also our shower leaked through the sliding door and we should have had more towels to clean up the water. Also the big shower head did not turn on. Maybe it wasn't attached. Over all, we were very pleased with 5th he hotel, the employees and the location.

Frühstück sehr mager. Schlecht präsentiert, vieles hat gefehlt. Nicht empfehlenswert!
Parkplatz, nah am See und der Busstation
Sauberkeit, Frühstück
We really enjoyed staying here! Staff is amazingly friendly and helpful. Camille at front desk was so nice, knowledgeable and helpful. Margot and Givi in the restaurant were sweet and wonderful. This was our first stop of a 24 day trip so we were weary during the stay, but they made it all the better.
Very happy with my stay at Hotel Eden. The hotel is rather small with a cosy feeling and helpful friendly staff. Also good rooms with comfortable beds.
