Lovely staff, dirty room
Pros:

The room was modern, beds were comfortable.

Cons:

The room was dirty. My partner has sent in pictures. Pulled out the beside cabinet to use as a table and it was filthy behind, a line of dust all around the edge of the carpet, flys on the Windowsill and the bathroom hadn’t been cleaned into the door corner. Also a constant running leak on the bath. We didn’t want to say anything at the time as we didn’t want to put a damper on the Wedding festivities.

Exceptional hospitality, thoughtful touches and genuinely caring staff made our stay unforgettable
Pros:

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Outstanding hospitality before, during and after our wedding

We stayed at the Gamston Lock for our wedding on 20th July, booking four rooms through Booking.com for ourselves and our family, and I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

A special thank you has to go to the manager, Leo, whose kindness, flexibility and genuine care made such a difference. We visited before the wedding to discuss our plans, and from that moment he went above and beyond to make everything as stress-free as possible.

Knowing I would be getting ready there as the bride, Leo very kindly upgraded us to a spacious family room, giving me plenty of space to get ready with my hair and makeup artists without feeling cramped. He thoughtfully added extra mirrors, supplied plenty of additional towels, and gave us multiple room key cards so that my suppliers could come and go easily throughout the morning. It was clear he had genuinely thought about what a bride would need, and those little details made a huge difference.

Leo also reserved an area where our party of ten could all sit together, making it so much easier to spend quality time together before the celebrations began. When my cousin Paul decided to book a room at the last minute, Leo somehow managed to rearrange bookings and accommodate him too. Nothing ever seemed too much trouble.

Throughout our stay, Leo and the entire team continually checked that we had everything we needed. He even very kindly cancelled a pre-ordered meal I’d arranged for the evening before the wedding, without any fuss, when our plans changed. That level of understanding and customer care is increasingly rare and was hugely appreciated.

Every room was spotless, comfortable and equipped with air conditioning, which was an absolute blessing during the July heatwave. The rooms were close together, making everything easy for our family, and there was ample parking for all our guests.

Cons:

The only minor improvement that could be made was the quality of the bread at breakfast—get some decent sour dough. Ditch the cheaper sliced bread. That’s all!

Excellent accommodation
Pros:

Wonderful accommodation. Icy cold aircon which was bliss in this heatwave (adjustable of course). Extremely comfy beds. Very highly recommended

Cons:

Only issue was my hands aren't strong enough to squeeze the toiletries dispensers. Luckily someone had left a bottle of Carex Handwash
