First I want to comment about my housekeeper Lina who took the very best care of me and kept my room clean and tidy. I saw her many times on the floor and she was so kind, thank you Eterlina! Kawaii, Kimberly, Jared, Zoey, Nora, Theresa, ++++superb, Mahalo
Be back soon! Aloha
Very helpful staff...unfortunately parking is VERY limited for hotel guest. Disappointed that we were directed to park across the street.
Room is spacious with fridge and a hot water pot and mugs. Bring your own coffee or tea.
Give youraelf extra time for the shower as the water pressure is low. Takes a bit to rinse your hair and body.
Hotel and service were great! And location is perfect! Highly recommend!
The hotel is conveniently located across from the Honolulu Zoo and a short walk to the beach. We had a view of Diamond Head (Lēʻahi) which was nice. The hotel is located close to multiple bus stops which is a great way to get around if you buy a Holo card. The hotel itself is slightly older but has character and atmosphere. A/C works great off you need to cool off. The room we had was two queens and a seating spot and mini fridge. Overall a good value compared to other hotels we looked into. The staff was pleasant and helpful. The hotel provides towels for the pool or beach and beach chairs as well as boogie boards while they are available. The rooms were clean and the staff refilled our bathroom necessities. The noise level was fine but you can hear the plumbing and music occasionally.
There is a gym with cold water and another watering station in the lobby to refill your bottles. Overall, a great hotel with great location and service.
I was traveling solo. My brother is a local and lives close to Diamond Head. He suggested this hotel, it was perfect! Across from the Zoo and large open spaces. The beach was 1 block away, Queens beach.
Totally retro but kept up beautifully. My room was a Jr suite with Diamond Head view. Loved the balcony.
You can tell this is an older hotel, but it has been updated with new finishings and furniture and is very nice. The location is perfect, within a block from the beach and our room had an unblocked view of Diamond Head. And of course, within walking distance of all
Waikiki has to offer.
The hotel included little touches that added to our stay—complimentary reusable water bottles waiting for us in our room, an umbrella to use incase of rain, and easy to access beach chairs and towels.
A short but sweet stay at the Queen Kapiolani Hotel. Great location, a block away from the beach and an amazing view of Diamond Head made it a solo traveller’s dream.
Great place, amazing facilities and friendly staff.
Over all good stay. The parking is a major inconvenience. There was a time when our room key was not working and the girl at the front desk made me feel dumb instead of just coming to assist or fixing the problem. That was very frustrating. Customers should be taken care of and treated with respect, hospitality goes a long way. All other stuff was great.
We have stayed here multiple times. Great location close to the beach and across from the zoo. Close to restaurants and local ABC stores for essentials. While it is not the most quiet place, rooms are clean and staff very friendly. They met all of our needs. Pool is nice with plenty of lounge chairs. Certain times of the day you can hear the zoo animals! We booked Diamond Head view but got more!
My mom is terminal with cancer and her last request was to come to Hawaii…The employees at the Queen Kapiolani have been incredible! I am grateful and will always remember the support and aloha!
The room location and atmosphere were all very nice and enjoyable! The staff were very nice and accommodating. The rooms were clean and the whole hotel always smelled fresh clean and very pleasant. The location is right near the beach which is just what I wanted! Eateries and shopping were in walking distance and uber was EXTREMELY reasonable and very prompt in arrival! Drivers were engaging and offered suggestions on local places to go eat or for more beautiful scenery! Everyone was so nice! I truly enjoyed my stay and will book again with this hotel when I next return to Ohau!
- It was surprising that the room had a refrigerator but no microwave
- Also surprised that the room did not have a Coffee maker
- At best it was partial Ocean view
- the verbage / wordings about Beverage +Snack was misleading. The way it was worded made us think that it was for every day of stay
Perfect location, welcoming staff
After I moved to room 1415 - I was overwhelmingly pleased. The room was adequate size, clean with space to move around. I would like to suggest, as a repeat customer, please don’t skimp on their room. I would have given five stars if you had put me into room 1415 at the very beginning of my week long trip.
I was disappointed I had no coffee in my room , room service did not exist and the large umbrellas by the pool were broken. Since my last trip about 5 years ago, this was a degradation of service
The food was fabulous at the cafe, the young ladies were very professional and the coffee and food was delicious.
The restaurant was good too. I found the staff at the bar not to be too friendly - seemed overworked and stressed? The salmon on the caesar salad was the best salmon I ever had. Please thank the chef - well done!
The concierge on Tuesday, July 14th highly recommended the tasting menu luau at the Aloha Tower which was $269. I thought this would be a fabulous way to start my trip.
The food was cooked earlier that day and it was horrible. I didn’t eat most courses and felt it was in bad taste. The entertainment was out of this world fabulous so it helped make it a little better experience. I would definitely not recommend this event since it is too expensive and the food is terrible. Example - the beef rib - I could barely cut with a sharp knife.
The concierge on Sunday, July 19th highly recommended the swimming with dolphins boat trip. It was the speed boat trip. It important for the concierge team to understand how dangerous this trip is. I was not aware that you had to jump off the boat ramp while the boat was moving. I decided it was a bit too dangerous for me. I finally decided to snorkel in the coral reef while the boat floated around. I got up on the ramp with my snorkel gear and flippers and a wave hit the boat and I fell backwards into the boat and fractured two ribs and my spine and have multiple bruises including my chin and cheeks. The captain of the boat made it very clear how dangerous the trip was going to be.
Please educate the concierge on the safety issues with this event.
Unfortunately spending my last day in Honolulu, in the emergency room was a drag.
Overall the trip was a success even though I’m in a ton of pain.
Special thanks to the Hawaiian bellman who helped me with my luggage and Lyft ride. He was playing his eukalaili while I was waiting for the Lyft. Perfection to say the least.
Aloha!
It was convenient especially for a business trip
Great spot to stay at. Rooms were clean and everyone was friendly. We booked through Costco and got a couple coupons along with it for breakfast and valet. There was definitely some
Street noise but honestly we were so tired that we slept through it. Noise was not bad after ten. Pool was small but not busy and you were able to get drinks from the restaurant to enjoy at the pool. Overall, had a good experience. Also, view was amazing from our room!
It was a comfortable stay, affordable and ideally located. The rooms were clean and the staff friendly. We wish they had told us they had beach items available at no cost to guests. Overall, I prefer a higher end stay but this worked out for us. Free parking is opposite the zoo if you want to save $60/day.
Really nice room with a great view! Aircon was great, and the TV was perfect. Lots of space too. Bonus that pets are welcome as we saw lots of cute dogs around! The coffee shop downstairs is a great addition, and the location was awesome - just across the road from the beach and only a few minutes walk to all the shops!
Only thing that was a little bit disappointing was the shower as the water pressure was very low! But otherwise perfect!
