Pros:

Great location, just a 3 minute walk to the beach. Beautiful view from ocean front room, could watch the beach and see the surf breaks.

So much better than we expected!
Pros:

We had a room with a completely unobstructed view of Diamond Head. It was absolutely glorious! The room wasn't fancy but the view more than made up for it and we were only using the hotel as a place to sleep, so all good.

Cons:

The rooms are basic, fine for us, but sure, showing their age a bit. If you are after fancy/boujee, this isn't the place for you. If you are focused more on its location and value for money, QK is an excellent choice.

Hôtel idéal pour un séjour sur oahu
Pros:

L'hôtel est idéalement situé près de la plage, dans un secteur calme proche des commerces. Le terminus du bus qui arrive de l'aéroport est en face l'hôtel The lineW). Le parking est cher mais appréciable et très bien géré par les valets. Les chambres sont nettoyées tous les jours, c'est très bien. Des serviettes de plage sont mises à disposition a la demande. Je recommande !

Cons:

Pas grand chose.
Le personnel de conciergerie et de réception manque de conseils pratiques pour répondre aux questions sur le paiement du stationnement en ville et d'accès aux bus par exemple.

Noisy bar, staff not helpful
Pros:

The only good thing about this hotel is a view of diamond head if you pay for the room

Cons:

Check in process was not smooth. The staff didn’t text or call me when my room was ready when they said they would call me. The noise from the bar was outrageous. It was like spring break in Miami vibe.

Great staff
Pros:

Very helpful staff...unfortunately parking is VERY limited for hotel guest. Disappointed that we were directed to park across the street.
Room is spacious with fridge and a hot water pot and mugs. Bring your own coffee or tea.
Give youraelf extra time for the shower as the water pressure is low. Takes a bit to rinse your hair and body.

Queen Kapiolani is a good choice
Pros:

The hotel is conveniently located across from the Honolulu Zoo and a short walk to the beach. We had a view of Diamond Head (Lēʻahi) which was nice. The hotel is located close to multiple bus stops which is a great way to get around if you buy a Holo card. The hotel itself is slightly older but has character and atmosphere. A/C works great off you need to cool off. The room we had was two queens and a seating spot and mini fridge. Overall a good value compared to other hotels we looked into. The staff was pleasant and helpful. The hotel provides towels for the pool or beach and beach chairs as well as boogie boards while they are available. The rooms were clean and the staff refilled our bathroom necessities. The noise level was fine but you can hear the plumbing and music occasionally.
There is a gym with cold water and another watering station in the lobby to refill your bottles. Overall, a great hotel with great location and service.

Perfect and safe
Pros:

I was traveling solo. My brother is a local and lives close to Diamond Head. He suggested this hotel, it was perfect! Across from the Zoo and large open spaces. The beach was 1 block away, Queens beach.
Totally retro but kept up beautifully. My room was a Jr suite with Diamond Head view. Loved the balcony.
