Plenty of parking space, handy for motorway link, easy access to visit plenty of attractions and towns in the area. Good selection of food at breakfast
Although disability access rooms they are lowered baths not wet rooms, TV doesn't have regular channels, they have to be accessed through BBCiPlayer, ITVx etc so can't just switch easily between channels. Breakfast could have been hotter and had to chase staff to get things topped up that had run out including hot water and milk, not just the food items. First night evening meal the plastic hadn't been fully removed from the garlic butter (which was still frozen), on second night a wrong main course was delivered!
Room carpet wasn't clean ac wasn't working WiFi wasn't working and room phone wasn't working
No lift. Smaller bathroom than a cruise. Not joking. Very old bathroom in general. NO AIRCON in any room when we got there. It was very very hot. Managed to get a fun on the second day. Asked for cot in advance and it took 4 hours, 2 calls and 2 visits to reception to get it. It was lost on the floor on some random corridor. Worst ice cream i ever had. Broken security side door so anyone can get in the building at night without control… Hotel to avoid. Surprised IHG wants to be associated with it
Very handy stop-off location for an overnight when travelling.
A bit dated but ok for a lay-over
First of all, the receptionist on our arrival wasn't good she didn't stated or informed us that the air conditioner wasn't working so the room were very hot and uncomfortable to sleep..... I requested to have my rooms close to each other because I had children in the other rooms but this wasn't accommodate and were so disappointed for that. The breakfast was great and people in the kitchen were so welcoming and pleasant.q
The kitchen and bar because people were more welcoming
Staff were usually happy and friendly. Breakfast had a good selection. Good blackout curtains and noise level at night.
Reception and server staff at the bar were friendly and happy to help wherever possible. Plenty of parking, and check-in/check-out processes fast and easy.
Air con was broken and only a small desk fan was given to combat the heat for a family of four. The sofa bed was not made up and we had to ask at reception for pillows and sheets for it. The room was ridiculously hot, uncomfortable and we were not able to get a decent night's sleep - which ultimately is the primary function of a hotel.
Once the bedding did arrive, it had a red stain on the bedsheet that was unidentifiable or justified by the staff (although they did immediately change the sheet and say they would seek an explanation from the launderer).
Multiple plates at dinner on both nights had to be sent back as they were either incorrect or not prepared as requested.
A few times the bar was not staffed and so I gave up waiting. Bar prices far too high - more expensive than London!
My wife was chastised for using her kindle poolside - she was told in a curtly manner to put away her phone as they are not allowed in that area, when she pointed out that the device was an ebook and not a phone, she was told "we have to check". Her kindle does not look like a phone, so this interaction should not have taken place.
Our room was comfortable, however it was set up for one person and we only realized when we went to take a shower there was ONLY one small hand towel and ONLY one small shower towel! We did bring this to the attention of reception on the way to breakfast, however this was to late as we checked out after breakfast to move onto our next destination.
Not having the correct towels in our room to take a shower. Public/guest toilets' near reception, there were no paper towels, not very clean, and the dryer did not work, it looked like no one had been serving/cleaning the public toilets, quite surprised at the cleanliness of the guest toilets for a hotel toilet.
You get what you pay for
I had to get a bus to get to my room
Also downstairs not easy when handling luggage
Air con was broke u4 code no engineer ordered to attend ,say hotel don't care
Was useless at night as way too hot
No air con
Room location
Could've been in the next county
Staff breakfast and swimming pool
AC was not working in summmer time
The swimming/sauna but wasn’t informed that the jacuzzi was out off order
also they should bring back the locker coin system
It’s located near fields
Conveniently located close to the motorway, making it an ideal stopover.
The hotel had no air conditioning due to a fault that had reportedly been ongoing for the past 3–4 weeks. Despite this, I was never informed before my arrival. Instead, I was simply told on the day that I could cancel my booking and find alternative accommodation.
This lack of communication was extremely disappointing and not the level of customer service I would expect from a well-known hotel chain. Had I been informed in advance, I could have made alternative arrangements without the inconvenience and disruption.
Staff were friendly
The swimming pool was closed on both days for cleaning
I did not realise we booked an accessible room
Nothing
Was 32 degrees no air con working
Burnt beef burger and bottle beer £25
They want too money for food etc but
Can’t make customers comfortable
