Left Luggage Issue
Pros:

Lovely hotel with basic rooms and excellent pool and area. Breakfast also very good. Let down by the fact that you can't store luggage after 2pm. As we had late flights had to store luggage downtown at a cost.

RIP OFF ARTISTS, PAPER THIN WALLS
Pros:

I have no idea how this is rated #21 in San Diego unless these people hired a massive group of people to rate them well. Walls were thin - we could hear baby crying at night the 2 nights we stayed. Bathroom was tiny, no counter space at all. We purchased through a 3rd party (Expedia) and paid taxes, but then they charged us taxes on top of the taxes we already paid. DO NOT STAY HERE! They will respond to this review and claim that all the hotels charge these fees. THIS WAS THE ONLY HOTEL THAT DID THIS IN CALIFORNIA during the week that we stayed there (we stayed in 4 hotels total). They will respond to this and make all types of excuses but the real issue is - they DO NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS. We were told the manager would contact us about our concerns with the hidden fees the day we left. This never happened. We paid taxes twice on this 2-day stay and no one cared to call and explain why this occurred. TOTAL RIP OFF WITH NO FOLLOW-UP AT ALL! I have absolutely no doubt that they will continue to avoid us, despite promising to do so in their response to this review (we left there 5 days ago).

Deceitful Practice
Pros:

This hotel is ran by scheisyers! They charge you for parking (its like a motel 6) and when I checked out they said I owed $25 more in taxes and fees because I booked through a third party. I showed them the email from Expedia, which showed i already paid the fees and taxes., but they said I had to pay it again!!!! The manager was not there and supposed to call me.....never happened.

STAY AWAY!

Best hotel in San Diego!
Pros:

This is one of my favorite hotels ever. We come here every time that we stay in San Diego and it’s always a great time. Staff is helpful and kind, parking is wide and plentiful. The rooms are clean and comfortable and it’s close enough to things without being stuck in downtown. I also love the breakfast spot that attached. I will always be back when I’m visiting San Diego and it’s always gonna be my favorite spot.

Kitchy little inn, retro-y vibe.
Pros:

Kitchy little inn, retro-y vibe. All the basic amenities were provided for the value of the rooms. We faced the pool, so it was a little noisy. The location of the Inn made it easy to get on and off the freeway. Hotel Circle is a really great option for those on the go. The staff was courteous and kind, and the value for the stay was what we needed. That being said, there are a few outdated features that were overlooked. The furniture is worn, and some of the drawers didn't stay closed. The bathroom baseboard trim was warped and peeling away from the tub. We also found some random gummy snacks (2 unwrapped) in the coffee maker tray. We were in town for a wedding, so the focus was not the Inn, but the location.

Looks like 10, but really 3-4.
Pros:

I would love to leave a great review, but I just cannot.

First, let me say the front desk staff, especially the gentleman, were very kind and informative. I give them 5 stars.

The property is another story. While the place looks great in pictures, it is quite dated. We had a 2 queen room that barely could fit the 4 of us (2 adults and 2 children- 12 years old). The bathroom was ridiculously tiny. You could not even close the door without stepping behind it to get out of the way. The closet was super tiny also, so my thought of putting a piece of luggage in there just to get it out of the way didn't work. Instead, each of us had our case laid out on the floor from the TV to the closet and just had to avoid tripping over them. Also, I did not care to finding a dead fly pushed up against the wall in front of the bed. I thought it was a spider at first, until I got a tissue and figured it out. Then I opened the window by the bathroom and there was another one. Yes, in the window, but still not a great sight. It just made me second guess my decision to stay at this location. The beds were a bit too firm and the pillows were awful.
The room did have a small refrigerator which was appreciated. Parking was easy, but given that there is ample parking I DO NOT believe you should pay $15 per night to park when that should just be factored into the cost of your nightly stay. That being said, I of course made the choice to stay knowing that. I'm just giving my opinion.
The pool was a bit smaller than the picture appears, but was decent. And having the pool toys for the kids was a plus. Plenty of chairs and tables also.
We did not eat there so I cannot say anything to that, but the place looked cute.
Location was great generally (though some homeless trailers just a little ways up the street). About 7-8 minutes to Mission Beach area where we hung out at Belmont Park and then an hour or so on the beach. There is a big mall about a minute up the freeway with a Target in case you forgot anything. 6 minutes from North Park where we had a great dinner at Sonny's (recommended by a friend), and we were about a 5 min. drive on the street from Old Town. Pretty sure I actually caught a ghost at the Whaley House in one of my photos outside and possibly another inside. I've been there once before, but I love that stuff so we did the tour again.

All in all again, the front desk staff at Kings Inn was great, and the rates are meant to be a bargain for the area, which it was, but unfortunately I would not stay here again. I wanted to give it a try based on photos and reviews, but it just didn't work for me and my family.

No, I did not take photos of a couple of dead flies. I probably should have of the tiny bathroom, but I didn't. You'll just have to take my word for it. If you're just passing by for a night, sure why not because the rate is decent, but not for an extended stay like we did and definitely not for more than you and maybe one other person.

Kings Inn is my "Go-to" hotel in San Diego
Pros:

From check-in to check-out, I received excellent service. The room fit my needs quite well. Fridge in room allows me to keep healthy snacks & a microwave is available in the laundry room or in-room @ just $5/day. Beautiful pool & jacuzzi to relax & meet folks from all over.

Home away from home. Safe, clean and friendly
Pros:

When traveling to San Diego for work or fun for the last 3 years, I stay at the Kings Inn. It’s safe, clean, and comfortable. The staff is amazing, respectful, and helpful. I’ve never had a bad experience in all of my visits and there have been a lot of visits.

As a female who travels alone often, the fact that there is an on-site security guard gives me a lot of comfort.

One of the bonuses, is the fact that it is so close to all of the important freeways to get you where you need to be. With that said, you don’t have all the freeway noise when you’re in your room! Which is wonderful!

It’s not Over the top fancy like so many of the chain hotels. I like the amount of privacy and the feeling of family when you get there.

The on-site restaurants are excellent! They are definitely not overpriced either. Most hotel restaurants are.

The entire vibe of the hotel is fun retro. From the pool area to the rooms themselves with fun throwback refrigerators that make you feel like you’re in a hotel room in 1960.

Basically, I can say nothing negative about the place..
