Love this hotel. Clean, comfortable and love old school vibe. Waffle House restaurant is so fun and delicious.?

Good location, close to the freeway and Old Town as well as downtown. All staff that we encountered were extremely friendly and welcoming, even given our very late arrival. The room was a little old fashioned in places but it was clean and spacious. It was good value in comparison to other hotels in the area. Wi-fi was adequate and there were always plenty of parking spaces to be had. I would stay here again if I ever came back to San Diego.

The manager was incredibly helpful with resolving a mistake I’d made. The hotel is in a convenient location, and is clean and comfortable. There’s a pool and restaurant on site.

The value is what brought us here, the cleanliness and location is why we came back again! Perfect location for getting around San Diego. Central to everything we wanted to do. The rooms were so clean! One of the cleanest places I have stayed at. The folks at the front desk are always friendly and helpful. We will return!

Motor hotel with a kitschy 60-70 vibe. Very clean and well maintained. Keeping to the theme without sacrificing some modern amenities, like charge ports as part of the night stand. Pool is a perfect example of the care taken with clear water & not a crack to be seen. They even supply some pool toys. I wouldn't say it's a vacation destination, but if you need to stay in the area for a couple of days, it's great. It even has two restaurants.

The state of state twice at Kings inn and both times were quite enjoyable. The waffle spot is a wonderful restaurant and Paula the waitress is fabulous!
The staff from the fronBt desk to security and housekeeping is extraordinary and nice.
Though my last stay I had a microwave in my room that I did not have to pay extra for so I ordered one and what's charged $5 a day for it which is a little disappointing.
The Kings and was built 2 years after I was born and I was born in San Diego and I always, always wanted to stay there when I was little so 65 years later, my wish came true.

I have had an absolutely wonderful stay at Kings Inn San Diego and have already rebooked 3 times. It is the incredible staff that keeps me coming back.

Ryan at the front desk was truly the greatest. He went above and beyond in every way possible. From the moment I arrived, he made me feel like a valued guest and handled everything with a smile. You can tell he genuinely cares about the people staying here. Veronica at the front desk was also fantastic and a pleasure to interact with.

Shoutout to Trevor, the security guard, who made me feel safe and was always friendly and professional. And Omar from the restaurant was a great guy who added to the overall warm atmosphere of the place.

This team is what hospitality is all about. When a hotel makes you rebook 3 times, you know they are doing something right. If you are visiting San Diego, Kings Inn is the place to stay. I will definitely be back again! 🙌

It was a nice place to stay. The staff was very accommodating as I arrived prior to check in time and was able to check in my room earlier than anticipated. The housekeepers also came every day to clean, which I found very refreshing. The only thing I wish they had was a continental breakfast, but they did have a restaurant within the hotel so that somewhat made up for it and the food at that restaurant was pretty good.

This hotel definitely delivers for the price. We were both hesitant to stay in an unknown budget hotel, but we were both pleasantly surprised on all fronts. Beds and rooms were very comfortable. The pool and hot tub area was awesome, the whole place was incredibly clean. They run a tight ship there! Breakfast diner onsite made things super easy before we'd head out for the day's adventures. Would definitely recommend!

I enjoyed the retro room decor. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. Check-in was fast and check-out was even easier, just drop they keys in the box. The caulking around the tub needs to be repaired. The pool looked inviting and the hot tub was the perfect temperature.

Very impressed with overall experience, we'll definitely be back and recommend to others.

We stayed 2 nights. Basic accommodations, nothing fancy. Comfortable beds and very clean. Super friendly, helpful staff. Definitely family oriented.

The location and cleanliness of this hotel is the best. it was literally no more than 10 minutes to the San Diego Zoo, the beaches, USS Midway and the freeway was right there. The rooms were VERY clean. not a spot of mold, no bugs. the beds were comfy the shower was of nice water pressure.
The only thing that was a negative was the fact that there was no elevator so we had to lug our suitcases up the stairs to our room and also, no coffee bar to go get coffee if you are an early riser. there is a restaurant on premises but opens later in the morning. All in all it was great value and the service and friendliness of the front desk was the best.

I stayed here earlier in April and was impressed enough to book a return visit. I checked out this morning, and while there are still many things I like about this property, there are some cleanliness issues that need to be addressed.

Most notably, dust buildup appears to be a recurring problem. The hanging light fixtures are visually appealing but clearly collect a significant amount of dust and do not seem to be part of regular cleaning. I observed this during my first stay and again during this most recent visit, which suggests it is being consistently overlooked. There was also visible dust accumulation on the bedside lamps.

In addition, I noticed mildew underneath the soap holder in the shower.

I want to be clear that I have a significant dust allergy, and this did impact my stay and my comfort. ( I emailed twice regarding this issue in anticipation of my stay, but did not receive a response ), Cleanliness—especially in these kinds of details—is not optional for guests with sensitivities.

Pros:

* Stylish, inviting property with a generally clean appearance at first glance
* Beautiful pool and hot tub area
* Friendly and professional staff
* Two excellent on-site restaurants
* Good value overall
* Fun touches like boozy milkshakes and margaritas at Amigo Spot

Cons:

* Repeated dust accumulation in fixtures and lamps that appears to be routinely overlooked
* Mildew present in the shower area
* Parking is $15 per night (not a one-time fee), which adds up quickly

This property has a lot of potential and many strong positives, but consistent attention to detailed cleaning is necessary. Without that, it falls short of the standard it otherwise presents.

This is a very old hotel! So please know that going into it. But for the super cheap price, it was everything we needed. The staff was so sweet and kind. I was really worried about it before we went, because some of the reviews just sounded horrible. But I would absolutely stay there again to save the money.

Great motel on Hotel Circle and close to San Diego attractions. Friendly employees as well.

Was referred to this location by a friend . This location was great ! Clean room for the price . Nothing fancy , but clean property , rooms and safe environment. Expect some noise because of the freeway . But other than that , I will return again .. The onsite bar and waffle house is a big plus !

NIce, convenient and reasonably priced hotel. On site restaurant was really good. Has a beautiful big, heated pool for relaxing and enjoying the San Diego sun.
