Breakfast was a delight, it’s a shame we don’t get the Full breakfast from at least 630am on Saturday. It would be lovely to have a continental breakfast since 40 of us need to depart to start our day at 730am. Otherwise everything else is perfect.
Saturday Continental breakfast to commence at 630am please. This is an annual event we attend with at least 40 of us staying here at the same time. We book a private restaurant for Friday dinner at the Restaurant across the path. And we depart the QT the following Monday.
Check in and location were good, overall room was tidy.
We struggled with all the Mirrors in the room.
Close to the venue where the event was
The AC wasn’t as intuitive as you’d expect and in the middle of the night the temp of the room was way too hot.
Everything you can expect for the price
No access to drink water I don't like tap water
Valet parking is very good and convenient. Staff were great.
Nothing.
Ok hotel, clean well presented but........ Rooms were clean and beds comfortable. Coffee in room was garbage.... I had upgraded to a one bedroom apartment as there for 3 nights probably not worth it said barista coffee in room.... Pod machine with cheap coffee pods. Plus milk was the stupid tiny capsules..... Revolting...... Breakfast was ok over priced for what it was, and guess what coffee machine in restaurant only could make a long black or black coffee...... Certainly wouldn't stay again.....
Good location and nice cafe on site. Staff are lovely.
My room was a bit rundown / shabby which is really disappointing. They really need to paint the skirting boards and deep clean mould in corners of the shower. Overpriced tbh.
Hotel looks nice. bar area great. Rooms, I had Superior King disappointing..why?
No workdesk..however one was supplied.
No full length mirror.
Difficult to find light switches in dark.
Dangerous carpeted sloping floor from bathroom to room. I had two falls while staying there. So slippery, and no warning.
Food ordered was quite good and wine lovely. Bathroom toiletries smell fabulous. But the floor scared me. Location good. but many other hotels in Wellington do better.
Our room was comfortable and warm and great view over the harbour
Restaurant for Dinner, was a bit slow for service, but staff were great
Location was perfect. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Cracks in basin in bathroom. No cutlery. No secured elevators. Luggage rack tiny. No desk. Dirty exterior windows. Room service not available at 10.30pm at night. Room not serviced until mid afternoon. Fridge froze my water bottles. Bottom of fridge wet. Air con very noisy.
It was close to the Ferry terminal and reception was open late.
Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing from both a customer service and accommodation perspective. Upon arrival, I was left to carry four bags and my dog to the room without any assistance being offered. I was also charged an additional $200 fee for a dog-friendly room, but this was only disclosed on the day of booking when it was too late to cancel. I had contacted the property a month earlier to inquire about any extra charges and never received a response.
The room itself was also below expectations. The bathroom ceiling showed clear signs of water damage, including bubbling and peeling paint, as well as dark staining that appeared consistent with mould or mildew growth. There was also a poorly finished ceiling access panel and visible maintenance issues that made the room feel neglected and not up to the standard I expected.
While I have no issue paying additional fees when they are clearly communicated, the lack of communication, poor customer service, and condition of the room made for a disappointing stay.
The good
• Easy walk to the convention centre.
The not so good
• The entire hotel is oddly under-lit. I understand they’re going for a moody aesthetic, but it crosses the line from atmospheric into genuinely uncomfortable.
• The bed is well past its use-by date — it sinks the moment you lie down.
• No master light switch. You’ll be hunting down seven individual switches before you can go to sleep.
• No proper work desk — just a small circular coffee table with two chairs.
• I was assigned an accessible room without requesting one, and wasn’t informed of this at check-in.
• If breakfast is included, don’t expect much of a buffet — a few fruits, breads, and pastries, with an otherwise à la carte menu. Barista coffee is an additional $6.
• The room feels dated throughout.
Overall
QT Wellington is a small boutique hotel that tries hard to stand apart — and it does, just not always in the right ways. It suits a niche traveller after something different, but if you’re looking for a traditional luxury hotel with all the expected comforts, this isn’t it.
