An Exquisite Experience 💖
Pros:

JW Marriott Grosvenor House London exemplifies Mayfair’s grand heritage through flawless, highly personalised service and world-class hospitality talent.

Upon arrival, the staff exemplified efficiency and precision. Basma promptly escorted me to the Executive Lounge to minimize waiting time. Here, Raissa efficiently managed the check-in process, updated my Marriott Bonvoy profile, provided an orientation of the property, and proactively arranged a reservation at the highly esteemed Park Room. The lure of the Tales of Beatrix Potter Tea Pairing menu was irresistible.

In the Tea Room, Altay showcased a keen attention to detail, from offering a purse hook to crafting a custom Negroni cocktail. At dinner, after enjoying a superb ribeye, Ludwig demonstrated initiative by sourcing honeydew and watermelon from a nearby kitchen to create a bespoke dessert suitable for my dietary needs.
Noticing I was chilled and tired as I prepared to head to my room, Luca demonstrated exceptional anticipatory care, offering to send hot tea to my room alongside an in-room breakfast menu to ensure an effortless morning.
Carlos accepted my breakfast order with polished warmth, while Mahafuz delivered it with pristine presentation.

The departure experience was seamless and efficient, managed by Stephanie who completed the check-out process with refined professionalism while the bell team seamlessly coordinated a taxi—completing the entire departure in three minutes, with the precision characteristic of a Formula 1 pit crew.

The JW Marriott Grosvenor House London honors its prestigious legacy while pioneering sustainable luxury. The hotel is proud to hold Green Key accreditation, a Silver Level Energy Star rating, and has achieved the Forbes Verified Responsible Hospitality status, underscoring its commitment to responsible luxury.

A huge thank you for a remarkable experience!

Historic Elegance in the Heart of London
Pros:

As a loyal Marriott Bonvoy member, I chose JW Marriott Grosvenor House London for our stay, and overall it was a wonderful experience.

The hotel itself is a magnificent historic building that has been beautifully preserved, elegantly decorated, and impeccably maintained. Our room was spacious, comfortable, spotless, and provided the perfect place to relax after exploring the city.

The Executive Lounge was another highlight of our stay. It offers an excellent breakfast along with afternoon drinks and refreshments in a welcoming atmosphere. The lounge staff were attentive, professional, and genuinely pleasant, making every visit enjoyable.

We also ordered room service, and it exceeded our expectations. The food was excellent, delivered promptly, and the service was courteous and efficient.

The location is outstanding, within walking distance of some of London’s best shopping, restaurants, and iconic attractions, making it an ideal base for exploring the city.

The only feedback I would offer concerns the front desk experience. In my opinion, the reception team serves as the hotel’s ambassadors and sets the tone for a guest’s stay. A warm smile, eye contact, and a simple “Welcome to JW Marriott” can make a lasting first impression. Unfortunately, this was missing during our arrival. The check-in felt rather impersonal, with little warmth or engagement. I understand that everyone can have an off day, but first impressions are especially important in luxury hospitality.

Despite this, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and truly appreciated the beauty of the property, the comfort of the accommodations, the excellent dining, and the attentive service provided by the rest of the team. I would happily return and recommend JW Marriott Grosvenor House to anyone looking for an elegant and well-located hotel in London.

Beatrix Potter Afternoon Tea
Pros:

My mother and I visited the Park Room for the Beatrix Potter Afternoon Tea, to celebrate both our birthdays. We have been to many of London’s afternoon teas and this was up there with our favourites! We were served by Saiful, who was conscientious, friendly and attentive throughout. The food was wonderful, and the Beatrix potter theme was very cute. The atmosphere was warm and chatty and we enjoyed listening to the pianist in the background. Saiful was happy to take a photo for us and he brought out a lovely slice of birthday cake and packed it up for us (please extra slices) when we weren’t able to eat another bite! We would definitely recommend the Park Room as a wonderful afternoon out.

Unacceptable Plumbing Biohazard
Pros:

Unacceptable Plumbing Biohazard & Zero Service Recovery – Decades-Long Marriott Loyalist Horrified
Rating: 1 / 5 Sta Bottom Line: What should have been a luxurious London getaway turned into an absolute nightmare involving human waste, repeated plumbing failures, a room downgrade, and total indifference from management . A Promising Start Turned Health Hazard
My wife and I were genuinely looking forward to our stay at the JW Marriott in London. The location is fantastic and our initial impression of the room was positive. However, our dream stay quickly turned into a floating disaster.
First thing in the morning, the toilet failed completely, leaving human waste floating in the bowl with zero flush power. We called maintenance, and the plumber who arrived to clear it explicitly warned us that there seemed to be a broader, systemic plumbing problem with our room or the entire floor.
Three Failures, Wasted Hours, and Zero Urgency
A few hours later, my wife went to use the bathroom, and the exact same thing happened—zero flush, floating waste. Extremely frustrated, we called maintenance again. The plumber cleared it a second time and strongly recommended to management that we be relocated immediately.
I called the front desk, detailed the disgusting situation, and requested a room change. Instead of urgent service recovery, we were met with indifference and told they would "look into it."
No immediate room was made available, forcing my wife to travel downstairs to the public lobby restrooms.
I needed to use the bathroom, and staff assured me the toilet was "fixed and completely fine to use."
Predictably, it failed for a third time. Zero flush, same horrific result.
We spent half of our valuable day trapped in our room dealing with sewage issues, waiting on plumbers, and getting the runaround from staff.
The Inferior "Relocation" & Zero Compensation
When management finally moved us later that day, they claimed the new room was of the exact same quality. It was not. It was a noticeable step down from our original reservation.
Given that a huge portion of our stay was ruined by a health hazard and poor communication, we asked for reasonable compensation for the extreme inconvenience. Management offered zero compensation. No partial refund, no points, no effort at service recovery whatsoever.
Final Verdict
We were so appalled by the handling of this situation that we packed our bags and checked out at 6:30 AM to move to an entirely different hotel.
I have been a loyal Marriott member and supporter for decades, but this experience completely shattered my trust in this property. A brand-name luxury hotel should offer basic working sanitation and competent customer care—the JW Marriott London failed spectacularly on both counts. Think twice before staying here

Extremely bad experience
Pros:

As a Bonvoy titanium elite member We entered the lobby to have coffee but unfortunately a lady stopped us to sit for having coffee!!!! We were told that we cannot have coffee in the lobby if we don’t have a room!! It was very embarrassing in front of the friends. I believe it is not the standard of Marriott Bonvoy.

Wedding guest
Pros:

Attended a wedding over the weekend with our one year grandson.
I needed help with the pram and was told to go to the next door building as the lifts would take us straight to the venue to avoid the stairs.
Waited around 20mins for a staff member to arrive to go down the lifts with us no one arrived so had to make my way back to the hotel and carried the pram down the flight .
Arrived half hour late as the bride & groom were making there entrance.
Service of the porters was appalling.

Absolutely perfect and stunning hotel!
Pros:

I have nothing but good things to say about the JW Grosvenor House! Everything here is absolutely perfect! From the moment you arrive you’re greeted with professional, sharp dressed bellmen as well as doormen. The check in area is well set up and well staffed. They’re friendly, informative and helpful. They give you lots of information about what is available at the hotel and how to access it. We came a little before check it and got an upgrade so our room wasn’t quite ready. We got escorted to the Executive Lounge and as expected, it was beautiful, clean, lots of space and seating. There are so many great snack and drink options available here most of the day and even a wine hour in the evening. The wifi works good here, as it does throughout the entire hotel. Sometimes old buildings struggle with wifi connectivity, but not here. The concierge in the lounge was informed that we were waiting for our room to become available and so she kept checking on her computer to see if it was and would come over to us and give us updates as they came to her. Very great customer in there. Once we got the room, the was just… absolutely amazing! Every little detail was taken care of and not one thing was out of place. The living room was spacious and even had a desk area. The bar area was a great size and well stocked with whatever you might want. We like to have a fridge, so we asked if we could take the bar stuff out and place it on the bar and they said not worry, they’d be up right away and bring us an additional fridge to put in the living room near the bar. Within 5-10 minutes, a gentleman came and set this up for us. He was so friendly and made sure to ask how cold we like the fridge and did the programming for us. The bedroom is stunning. The closet is a good size and has what you need. Slippers, shoe shining kits, cloth laundry bags and a safe. At least that’s all I remember. The bathroom is really where the room shines and stands out to us. The shower is massive and has Bvlgari products that smell amazing. There is also a stand alone bathtub. The sink area is big, although there was only once sink, not a double. But that’s totally fine because the counter space as extensive. The bathroom is well stocked with whatever you might need, from toothbrushes and paste, to razors and vanity kits. This is all replenished twice a day if needed as the hotel does offer turndown service. This was a nice surprise, as nowadays it’s hard to even find automatic daily housecleaning. During turndown, they put a little mat on each side of the bed with a little goodnight message and put a pair of slippers out for you. The housekeeping staff were already friendly and eager to know if they could personalize their service to you in any way. Room service here was 10/10. 24/7, big menu and they even bring it to you on a rolling cart into your room that has a heating chamber underneath for your hot food options. They always offer to set it up for you and serve you the courses, however we elected just to do it ourselves as it was late at night and if we wanted that kind of service we’d go to one of the many restaurants. The location is amazing, just across from Hyde Park. It is very walkable throughout Mayfair and Soho. Very good areas. Buckingham Palace is nearby, about a 20 minute walk. As there is everywhere in London, the tube stations are plentiful all around. All around, this hotel and its service is a rarity these days and is definitely worth the money. You can easily get rooms for 300-400 Pounds in the off season or 600ish in summer. For London, this really isn’t too bad. I’d recommend going in the off season and have a better chance of getting an upgrade like we did. Our room goes for about 2000 Pounds a night and it was a totally complimentary upgrade! We will definitely be back soon and I can’t wait.

Cons:

This was by far the worst hotel experience I have ever had. The room was extremely dirty. The duvet and bedding smelled moldy and unclean, and the furniture was dusty and dirty. The air conditioning barely worked, making the room unbearably hot and humid throughout my stay. The hotel itself also had a damp smell.

To make matters worse, one of the elevators was out of service, so we had to walk through the kitchen area every time, which had an unpleasant smell.

Check-in took around 1.5 to 2 hours, which was completely unacceptable. My luggage did not arrive until almost 3 hours later, even after I repeatedly called and complained.

I stayed for 4 nights, and these issues continued for almost the entire stay. The staff did not resolve the problems or make any real effort to improve the situation despite multiple complaints.

The food was also extremely poor in quality. Overall, this was one of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had, and I would never stay at this property again.

Outstanding Stay That Brought Me Back Again
Pros:

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

My stay at **JW Marriott Grosvenor House London** was nothing short of exceptional. I initially stayed for three nights (11–15 July), and after the incredible hospitality I received—especially from **Alina**—I was so impressed that I returned just two days later for another two-night stay. That alone says everything about how much I enjoyed this hotel.

The hotel offers everything you would expect from a true luxury property. The rooms are elegant and comfortable, the location is outstanding, and the facilities are excellent. The fitness centre is one of the best hotel gyms I've used, with a wide range of modern equipment, plenty of space, and a professional environment for both strength and cardio training. The Executive Lounge is another highlight, offering a relaxing atmosphere, attentive service, and an excellent selection of food and refreshments throughout the day, making it a real benefit for Marriott Bonvoy Elite members.

I would especially like to thank **Alina** for her outstanding hospitality, professionalism, and genuine care in making guests feel welcome. She truly represents the high standards of the JW Marriott brand.

**Recommendation to Management**

I would recommend that management review the approach to guest engagement and Marriott Bonvoy Platinum Elite recognition by **Athina**, the supervisor. Unfortunately, my interaction with her was unexpectedly discourteous and did not reflect the level of service, professionalism, and warmth consistently demonstrated by the rest of the team. I hope this can be addressed, as it would ensure every guest receives the exceptional experience that this outstanding hotel is known for. Aside from this isolated experience, the hotel deserves every one of its **5 stars**, and I will certainly look forward to staying here again.

Great service but rooms need some updating
Pros:

We stayed for a week during Wimbledon. Friendly staff (aside from check-in) and fantastic location. The concierge and restaurant servers were really nice and helpful. Great breakfast and afternoon tea. Good size rooms, but they are a bit worn and dated. There are no outlets in the bathrooms, the shower leaked and we could hear the room next door through the connecting door. At the price point I expected more updating.
