The staff are amazing, particularly Patrick McManus the Concierge, who helped make everything go seamlessly for us. Also, Ana and Julietta and your morning restaurant hosts always gave us a great start to each day! First your people are the best. Very attentive and helpful in working through choices as I have a gluten allergy. Your mixologist at the 1824 bar make the experience of that setting most worthwhile.
Exceptional stay. Super well located. Historic and beautiful site. Wonderful, welcoming, and 5-star staff all around. They really go out of their way to make your stay exceptional. Kudos all around. The only challenge is now what, that was too good!!!! 100% from the branding, the maps, the historical books, the overall vibe and historical position this hotel delivers on culture and history in spades.
“It was a celebration for my husband’s 60th birthday and he really enjoyed it. Although we didn’t have food, the ambience and atmosphere of the hotel was wonderful.”
I had the absolute best stay at the Shelbourne! I really didn't want to leave! The hospitality, the food, the drinks... everything was amazing! It was the perfect home base for a business + pleasure trip! I can't wait to go back!
“Staff was extremely friendly and provided a great customer experience.”
Everything is wonderful, the staff , the location and rooms.
Everything was great
Had a great time in Shelbourne recently.
Big thanks to Karl at the door for his hospitality.
I had dinner at the saddle room. The dinner was amazing. Everything was lovely.it is not the first time I had dinner there and I strongly recommend this place for a special night. Caroline brought us to our table: she was very sweet and kind. Brenda served us a good white wine and Femingo was or very attentive to us.
I had dinner based on fish course: Antonio and Sayd made me love every single bite of it! My husband ordered filet and Supun cooked it for him: the filet was delicius and tender.
A special thank for Dan for the great night.
We’ll definitely come back
Lovely bar and lovely rooms
Spa out of action and gym v small
In my view, The Shelbourne hasn't much benefitted from its Marriottification. The door staff, helpful and cheerful, is a caricature of the "good old days," in their get-ups, particularly inappropriate in the crushing heat. And upon my arrival, the first thing that was pointed out is the bar--no one mentioned the spa or the restaurants! Except for the staff at the check-in station, everyone was a pleasure to deal with. Those women, with their insincere smiles, initially put me in a room half a mile from the elevator. Surely, they noticed my gray hair and cane. After a time-consuming backing-and-forthing, I was moved to much larger and more convenient room (suite, actually) and am grateful for the change. I want to stress that the restaurant staff, the concierge, everyone but those snippy front desk women, were a pleasure. Perhaps they saw me, an old woman on her own, and decided to give me the least convenient room in the hotel; further, they looked upon my questions about the hotel's policy on selling shampoo as an intrusion on their time. All in all, though luxurious, the hotel has a somewhat unpleasant corporate approach to hospitality. Though there is an on-going construction project, I wasn't bothered by noise.
The Shelbourne was our first stop on an eight-day tour of Ireland, and it set the bar high. The location was perfect for our night in Dublin, the air conditioning worked beautifully, and the service could not have been better.
Breakfast was included with my Titanium Elite benefits and was very good. We also had dinner at the hotel and thoroughly enjoyed it. Some areas were under construction, which caused a few minor hiccups, but the hotel notified us ahead of time and it did not interfere with our stay.
We love the Shelbourne. It is our favorite hotel worldwide. It is a magical experience from the moment you exit your cab.
Very centrally located. Nice hotel, friendly and helpful staff.
The price. Not worth €690 per night. No hotel is.
Great location and vibe in the hotel
Great public areas
Oh my word, just simply stunning, even walking up to the hotel you are impressed by it and things only get better once you go in!
Our three-night stay at The Shelbourne was the perfect introduction to Ireland. The hotel’s location overlooking St. Stephen’s Green couldn’t be better, making it easy to explore Dublin on foot. The rooms were spacious, beautifully appointed, and incredibly comfortable. Every member of the staff delivered warm Irish hospitality, and the attention to detail throughout the property was remarkable. It’s a historic hotel that manages to feel both grand and welcoming. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.
We were returning to The Shelbourne after our tour of Western Ireland. We had stayed for two nights the previous week. We compliment you on your staff, the services available, cleanliness and comfort of our rooms. We had book 3 rooms for our family. We will be sure to stay again on our next trip to Dublin.
The initial impression was great. Staff were very helpful and accommodating. Rooms and hotel needs a haul. Yes it’s iconic but the details are very rustic and worn. When I realized my kindle was gone after we checked out-they were not helpful at all. I was treated like an inconvenience. I emailed them 4 times with no response and after my husband called-they decided to answer. Their staff stole it as it was on the bench in my bag in the room and it was deactivated the day before we checked out. We have proof of this and they still chose to not replace it. It’s not about the money -it’s about feeling violated at an overpriced, dirty and outdated hotel.
