The location was perfect for attending an event at August Hall. I also liked the fact that you needed a key to enter the hotel after a certain time and to access floors via the elevators.

Cooling/heat system is old, outdated, and SUPER loud (although it did help eliminate the street noise). No attempt to modernize or just improve general room/building conditions (old wood trim painted over hastily, old 70’s looking windows covered in city grime, etc. Elevator was SLOW and covered completely in a weird vinyl paper and although it had signs say it was undergoing refurbishment, the signs seemed like they had been there a long time. Lobby and hallways were dark and dreary.

Noisy floors, no water in room. Windows don’t keep noise out from outside leading to sleep issues. Reception staff average.
Very clean/minimal setup. Not too far from the train station/buses. Noise level not too loud at night/weekends. Had a good first experience, very helpful worker Irene helped/upgraded me up a room since no queen sized rooms were available. A lot of solid restaurant choices recommended by the hotel as well!

Amazing stay! Only 10mins from Powell Bart stop, easy to get train to/from airport for $11 each way. Staff were lovely and friendly, was given a free upgrade which was a lovely surprise after an 11 hour flight! Room was beyond clean, comfy and stylish aesthetic so always looked forward to coming back at the end of the day. Great location, hop on/off bus is just on the corner and other public transport to get around. Would definitely recommend!

Small lobby, but since there were no lines of people, it was only a minor issue.
I stayed for 4 nights and the room was spacious, well maintained and stylish. The little downside is a concrete floor in the whole room, but the bathroom, but it was covered with a thin rug aroung the bed.
Irene at the reception was a wonderful helper, very nice, welcoming and helpful. I wish every hotel has staff members at least half as great as her!
Hotel G is conveniently located very close to Union Square. Very accessible to transportation and has a lot of options for places to eat in the area. Also very close to stores for shopping. The room was clean tho a bit dark in color and vibe but cozy. Comfy bed and pillows. Well sized bathroom. At the time of our stay, only one elevator was working so at times it took a while to get on the lift. Value was pretty good for the room you get and the location. Service was great. Irene, the front desk lady, was very accommodating and friendly. She made sure our stay was comfortable and we had everything we needed and gave us great recommendations to visit around the city.
Great location - looks like it's old and needs a face lift but that is just a poutine. The bed was amazing and the shower was awesome. If your a minimalist this is your spot
The location is fantastic for being central and near union square. The staff were very attentive and helpful.
