Very charming, historical hotel.
The room is adequate for sleeping and getting ready to go out. It only has a desk and desk chair. No place to sit down to watch TV or have in room service of any kind.
The staff is very friendly but inexperienced. The restaurant closes for a few hours in the afternoon. During this time, there is no place to eat or have a drink within the hotel.
The service in the restaurant was very slow. By the time our chowder was served it was cold.
The amenities in the room bathroom are minimal.
We have stayed in other Autograph collection hotels by Marriott and have had a much better overall experience.
Conveniently located next to 2 metro lines and walkable to several dining options. Hotel has a variety of rooms.
The AC in Room 328 couldn't adjust to our liking. It was too cold and we had to unplug it.
We stayed at the Mayflower Hotel for 4 nights and 5 days, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel is absolutely beautiful, with a classic, elegant atmosphere that made our visit feel special. The staff throughout the hotel were warm, welcoming, and genuinely friendly, which made a great impression from the moment we arrived.
Our room was very comfortable, and the bedsheets were exceptionally clean and cozy, making it easy to get a great night’s sleep each night.
The only downside was the restaurant on the ground floor, Edgar’s. The food and atmosphere were nice, but the service left a lot to be desired. The staff came across as rude, inattentive, and somewhat snooty. It often felt like they were more suspicious than welcoming, which was disappointing considering how exceptional the hospitality was throughout the rest of the hotel.
Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would happily return to the Mayflower Hotel. The hotel itself and its outstanding staff made our trip memorable.
The Mayflower was in a great location and staff was extremely helpful. However upgrades were needed in the rooms. Shower had retracted into the wall when moving shower head. The TV did not have the Welcome and itinerary for the event we attended. Some room phones worked but others didn’t. The phones were a big problem when it became necessary to contact the desk. If you are expecting the Marriott experience, you won’t find it here.
Gabe Gomes was very professional at check in. He greeted us and made us feel welcome. This is always a good start when you first arrive at the hotel. We are here celebrating my sister in law’s 10th wedding anniversary. She had her wedding here as well.
Very clean hotel and clean rooms. All around a pleasant stay. You won’t be disappointed and ask for Gabe Gomes!
It’s so comfortable
We found a little bit dirty the bathroom
Room was quite adequate for our needs. Bathroom was very clean and spacious with a shower and a tub/shower. Hallways were a bit of a challenge to reach the room but were nicely decorated and clean. Elevators are very quick giving the age of the building. Lots of history here in this hotel. We didn't dine in but the restaurant/bar seemed very nice. There was live music playing when we arrived on the mezzanine level but was gone later that evening. Super friendly staff, very professional.
There was a lot of noise coming from the mechanical equipment yard outside our sixth floor room number 629. Sounded like thunder all night long. Very annoying. The AC equipment never shuts off even thought the fan was set to automatic. Beware of the $73 per night valet. Not worth it. Find a garage one or two streets over and park there for $10 to $15. I had no idea it would cost me $73 to valet, ridiculous.
Staff and room
The elevators brass could use a shining since its one of the first things a quest sees.
The hotel and its ambiance were excellent
Pillows were horrible
