Hidden gem, but standout staff member!
Pros:

Had a wonderful experience at the San Diego Marriott Mission Valley last week. Don't let the exterior looks fool you. The hotel is modern, clean, and updated on the inside. Great lounge and lobby restaurant! But what really made the trip special was front desk associate, Jellyne. She was a standout star. Very warm, helpful, accommodating, and extremely knowledgeable in her role! She was able to make some complicated changes to our reservation with great ease. She deserves a promotion! Thank you Jellyne for making it a great stay!

Worst Hotel in San Diego
Pros:

Horrible rooms, loud AC that rarely works, overpriced breakfast for how low the quality is, stingy staff. The AC is motion activated and it doesn’t even work. Staff doesn’t communicate well so you constantly have to talk with them.

Nice home base in San Diego
Pros:

This was a comfortable, convenient location to use as a base for us to explore San Diego. We used rideshare to get around and the trolley a couple of times as well and had no issues whatsoever. The hotel is clean, has a nice breakfast with omelet station and a nice outdoor area (we were not there during pool season, but sat outside in the lounge area). The staff was friendly and helpful.

Our stay was wonderful, mostly due to the welcoming staff, delicious breakfast, very clean grounds snd central location.
Pros:

Very comfortable open lounge areas. Extremely friendly and helpful staff in every area of the hotel.

Cons:

No jacuzzi!!
Shower needs updating.
The wardrobe setup in the bathroom is very inconvenient for 2 guests getting ready in the room.
The magnifying mirror in the bathroom is fixed and not adjustable for height differences.
