Everything Perfect!
Pros:

At the end of our safari trip, we visited Victoria Falls here. We must especially highlight the care shown by the staff, particularly Edson. Upon arrival, there was a minor issue with our room, which was resolved immediately to our complete satisfaction. But all the other staff members are also incredibly caring and attentive. The hotel has its own historic charm and is unlike any other place in the world. The rooms are beautifully decorated and comfortable, with a great breakfast and delicious food. Everything was perfect!

A memorable stay at this historic hotel
Pros:

Overall our stay was a pleasant and memorable one. All staff we encountered were friendly and attentive. The location and grounds could not be better. The showers were the best I've ever experienced! My room was showing some wear and tear, especially the carpet at the door.

A Special Place
Pros:

It is a must to stay at least once at this iconic and special hotel. The hotel has the best views of the Victoria Falls and the surrounding area. The room was large and had more than I needed for my stay. The Livingstone restaurant was a great night with a pianist who really made it special (he has a fascinating back story)!

Cons:

Nothing

Old World Charm in a wonderful setting
Pros:

I had always wanted to stay at this iconic hotel when visiting the Victoria Falls and having arranged our trip around the hotel’s availability, I was not disappointed.
We stayed for three nights in the Stables Wing and loved it.
The hotel is slightly worn and tired in areas but this only adds to its charm.
We had all our meals out on the terrace and the view at breakfast and sundown was particularly fabulous. The food was good and very reasonably priced.
Everyone that we came across working at the hotel was friendly and helpful.
As a previous reviewer mentioned, the sound from the helicopters flying overhead is fairly constant and a little intrusive, but I guess this will be heard wherever you stay in the VF vicinity.

Fantastic Experience
Pros:

The overall experience was beyond expectations and it was one of the most memorable stays

Cons:

At around 6am there was some noise near room 149. Not sure if there was some work that was happening or if there was a change in shifts. This was the only fault and everything else was outstanding

Exceptional, warm and professional
Pros:

I booked this hotel for my mother’s 75th birthday, the whole process as soon as we arrived, from staff at reception, waiters, catering staff, bar staff, duty managers just to mention a few, they were all exceptional. They made us feel welcomed, their people skills were above and beyond exceptional

Well maintained hotel with beautiful views. Stay was slightly marred by being locked out of room on check out day.
Pros:

A great traditional hotel with iconic views. An exceptional high tea.

Cons:

A bit too pricey for what it offers. I was locked out of my room whilst having breakfast on check out day well before check out time.

Great value and fun weekend away with friends into history!
Pros:

Breakfast was outstanding as was the setting on the patio, highly recommend it!
Area was Africa as expected, comfortable and felt safe to walk in a group, very pleasant.

Cons:

The hotel blocked my key card access 10 minutes before checkout time, couldnt get into my room to collect my suitcase, unnecessary at their rates, can allow convenience of either blocking on time or 30 minutes grace.
No draft beer in such an upmarket hotel was disappointing

High Tea on Stanley Terrace
Pros:

High tea at the Victoria Falls hotel was a bucket list item for Margaret. The experience lived up to her expectations!!! We felt that a visit to Victoria Falls would not be complete without spending time at the Grand Old Lady of the town, the Victoria Falls Hotel.

We were received by Duly, the iconic uniformed man dressed in his distinctive white Edwardian tunic covered in international pin badges. He must be the most photographed man in the town! The hotel takes you back to the time of the colonial era with its classic design and decor. The hotel is in splendid condition and the staff are friendly and efficient. We walked through to the Stanley Terrace where the high tea is served from 3 pm daily.

As you come out onto the terrace, you are struck by the view of the African bush with the mist from the "Smoke that Thunders" in the distance, the gorge with its bridge and the first zigzag of the river. It is a spectacular setting.

The High Tea

You are offered your choice of teas or filter coffee to go with the most delicious sweet and savoury pastries. Everything was beautifully presented and flavorful. The scones were the best that I have ever tasted!! Then there was an amazing lemon meringue which I kept for last to cleanse the pallet. A glass of bubbly is a classic addition to round off the experience. We spent a delightful afternoon under the watchful eye of the Maître d'hôtel, Wilbert and his attentive staff. It can be busy and so it's advisable to book a seat in advance.
