Location is excellent
Booked a deluxe room with balcony with fantastic views of the lake and mountains. Worth it. Huge room and balcony.
Limited parking, but you can park in the adjacent P garage. Was missing a bar that reflected the grandeur of the place. The bar is now on the lake level and a bit tacky.
Location.
All good but Fitness room not great.
Loved every bit of it! The view of the lake was incredible, staff were friendly, very nice lobby and breakfast area. Restaurant attached if needed.
10min walk from the train station. Loved that it has air conditioning, although it wasn’t really needed with the nice doors that open wide.
The air conditioning unit made odd ticking sounds that kept me up at night. Should have just turned it off and opened the doors but worried about crows coming in for the food. A simple fan would be nice for air circulation.
Toplage direkt am See
Rundum zufrieden
Im Bad waren die Silikonfugen verschimmelt
Amazing location with beautiful views. Comfortable, standard room. Clean.
The parking situation - the hotel only has a few spots (less than 10) which cannot be reserved in advance. I had to park my car at a shopping centre across the road, which ended up costing €40 extra for 2 days.
Eden Palace Au Lac is stunning from the outside, and its location truly is excellent — right on the lake and just a short walk to town, the casino, the Queen Exhibition, and the Freddie Mercury statue. We happened to be in Montreux during the Jazz Festival, so the area was lively, crowded, and full of great food stalls. We loved being in the middle of all the activity. The hotel also sits directly on the lakeshore, and while the pool closes at 7pm, the lake is open for swimming 24/7, which is a great perk.
Unfortunately, the experience inside didn’t match the charm of its exterior or its prime location. The staff felt mediocre, and the restaurant was clearly short‑staffed — one waiter was handling the entire outdoor bar while two bartenders inside stood around chatting instead of helping. It created an overall sense of disorganization.
Our room was fine in layout, but the lack of air conditioning and poor circulation made it extremely uncomfortable. Even with the provided fan, the room stayed around 80+ degrees (26°C) all night. There was also no fridge, so we couldn’t even cool a drink to get some relief from the heat. Sleeping was nearly impossible, and by morning we were so uncomfortable that we took an 8am train to our next stop just to enjoy the AC, even though we originally planned to stay in Montreux until after lunch.
The hotel has great curb appeal and an unbeatable location, but the comfort and service inside fell short.
