La Valencia Hotel

PERFECT place to stay in La Jolla! You can walk to everything! Spectacular setting! We stayed in a villa. Balcony overlooking the ocean. Spacious with the best waterfall shower in my life! Hotel staff couldn’t be nicer or more helpful. The concierge literally ran down the street after us to share more info she forgot! This place was memorable. Highly recommend!

Spent our 1st anniversary here this past weekend. The staff made it special - concierge, spa and front desk- sweet people. Rooms are comfortable and stylish. Property is old Spanish charm. Pool attendant was amazing. Great location. Will be back

My family loves La Valencia Hotel. The luxury and comfort of the property are next to none. One of the highlights that made our trip unforgettable was the exceptional service from, Shraddha, Concierge. She provided us with spot on suggestions to explore San Diego. She recommended taking the trolley which we did. It was an incredible tour of the city with 9 stops. Shraddha, has such a pleasant personality which made it so easy to work with her!

Pete at the bar was the amazing! So sweet, so fun and made the best gin sour cocktail. Made sure to make us feel welcomed and not rushed during closing. 100% will be back!

My daughter-in-law and grandson just had a wonderful stay at La Valencia. While they were there, I organized for my 10 year old grandson to have chocolate covered strawberries delivered from him to the room on his Mom's birthday. He was over the moon that this was truly a surprise for Mom!

To summarize our overall experience in a few words: welcoming, caring and treating us like family. Our room, absolutely beautiful, with a wonderful view of the ocean.

After making our reservations, we worked with Shraddha (Concierge) over the phone and through emails in the weeks before our arrival. She helped us understand the options to get to your hotel, arranged transportation to and from the airport, and provided advice on how best to get rides to/from a nearby party we were to attend. Shraddha had not only suggestions but also followed through to ensure that everything was exceeding our expectations. A few days after our arrival, Shraddha was on duty, and my wife and I introduced ourselves and thanked her for all that she had done so far. We got to know each other a bit, and she noticed that my wife was in an ankle brace after breaking her ankle about a month prior. She personally went and got ice for ankle but also ensured that we knew how to take elevators from the pool to/from our room without stairs. Every time we saw her in the lobby, she asked if we needed more ice, or anything else she could do to make our stay more comfortable. Because of her, we felt very cared for and had someone to go to for just about any question we had.

With our limited walking ability, we spent a lot of our time at your hotel, and especially at the pool. This is where we met and got to know Mike (pool service manager?) very well. As with Shraddha, he not only did the normal tasks, (towels, umbrellas, drinks), but he got to know what we were looking for and our challenges (my wife's broken ankle as an example). As he got to know us, he suggested drinks that he thought we might like and came over and welcomed us every morning.

In summary, a beautiful hotel, in a beautiful location. But what sets this apart is the wonderful caring staff that makes the stay memorable. I hope we have a reason to come back soon.

Shraddha Carlin -- concierge at the La Valencia Hotel in La Jolla is excellent. There is so much to see and do in La Jolla and San Diego. She was incredibly helpful planning our visit to Old Town and Coronado. Shraddha had great suggestions and made everything so easy for us! She went above and beyond to make our stay great.

Michal was an incredible server. The atmosphere was perfectly balanced between relaxing and lively. The food was phenomenal, better than a lot of the top steakhouses in San Diego. Great value.

Location

I had such an amazing time visiting the Mediterranean Room while in La Jolla! The service was top-notch, the views were immaculate, and the food and drinks were delicious. Michael, our server, was amazing and incredibly attentive to our needs throughout our visit. What a beautiful place with an incredible atmosphere. I can’t wait to visit again!

I chose this hotel out of nostalgia, and the hotel didn’t disappoint. It is expensive, but I found the property to be very well maintained and the staff first rate in friendliness and competence. A special shout goes out to the concierge Mark who provided a sweet surprise for my husband’s birthday and gave us excellent tips for restaurants. Our room was comfortable and for the most part quiet, the exception being early morning when delivery and trash trucks navigated Prospect St. (ask for a room facing the garden rather than the street). The Thursday jazz/swing jam in the courtyard was great fun.
