My overall experience was nice in spite of the carpet smell, which is a minor upgrade and fifth floor ice room not working. Poole side was beautiful. The gym had all the equipment you need. Food was great. The breakfast was delicious! book with Omni. Small issue with valet tho but it’s being handled
Excellent
Central and tucked away from noise
Very nice hotel with most of the amenities you would want. It is an upscale environment that we were trying out for the first time. It would have been a bit more enjoyable if we were aware that there was no in room fridge to keep out daily meds. Very good pool area and personnel were all top notch.
The saving grace for this hotel was a worker named Racquel. She put in several requests for our room to be serviced (towels refreshed and room cleaned) after we spent the majority of our stay at the omni with staff ignoring our requests. This was a standard service that was supposed to happen every night. We even found dried blood on the towel in our bathroom. Nonetheless, the area is upscale, food options around are nice and the shuttle was convenient. I hope you do a better job with room cleaning in the future. This is a nice hotel otherwise.
First the good news. Overall the staff are great and bend over backwards to help - well done. We booked the Omni out of a fit of nostalgia as 40 years ago it was one of our favourite spots. The Black Swan pub and the Sunday Brunch were Houston staples - both are no more. The rooms are spacious BUT they are 40 years old and it shows. Hospital mustard yellow paint went out of fashion 30 years ago. The decor and room amenities are 1990s at best but they are comfortable.
Great location, great staff but seriously in need of major refurbishment and upgrade.
The room air conditioner didn’t work in be room and the toilet flooded in the other we had to switch rooms 3 times with zero accommodations!
The staff here is fantastic—so friendly, welcoming, and always ready to lend a hand. Special shoutout to the valet team for being so quick and cheerful every time we needed our car. Exceptional hospitality from start to finish.
I don't usually write reviews, but my experience at this Omni property was so disappointing that I felt compelled to share it.
This was my first stay at an Omni Hotel, and unfortunately, it will most likely be my last.
Upon arrival, I was assigned a room with a dirty bathtub. After going back to the front desk, I was moved to another room, only to find a dirty, used washcloth left in the shower. I was then moved to a third room, where several electrical outlets didn't work. By that point, I was exhausted from packing and unpacking multiple times, so I gave up and stayed.
The problems didn't stop there. I requested housekeeping, but no one serviced my room on the second day. The room was also missing soap, shampoo, and conditioner. I called and was told someone would bring them, but no one ever showed up. Later, the toilet became clogged, and it took about two hours for anyone to respond.
What disappointed me most wasn't just the condition of the rooms. It was the repeated failure to follow through. Time after time, I was told someone would take care of an issue, and time after time, nothing happened.
When I checked out, I explained everything to the front desk. The hotel offered a $50 credit, which I appreciated, but it didn't come close to making up for an experience that fell far short of what I expected from a hotel that markets itself as a premium brand.
I travel often and rarely leave negative reviews because I understand that mistakes happen. But multiple dirty rooms, missing basic amenities, missed housekeeping, maintenance issues, and repeated broken promises turned what should have been a relaxing stay into a frustrating one.
I genuinely wanted my first Omni experience to be a good one. Instead, it left me questioning the hotel's quality standards. Based on this stay, I don't see myself returning to this property or choosing the Omni brand again. I wanted to add photos but it would not allow me to attach them.
Top notch service from the moment we booked the block of rooms for our daughter's wedding. Glenn did an amazing job ensuring we had the proper atmosphere. From the moment we were greeted at the front door, the staff was pouring on the help and service. Would highly recommend this hotel! Several options for places to eat within the hotel. Spacious suites and top notch staff.
Convenient
Horrible trying to sleep. Both nights we had to call and complain about excessive loud music starting at 6 and 7 AM Get very little sleep because of no control of guests
The resort was a beautiful location. It had delicious food with wonderful staff. The pool and beach were perfection. We will be back!
World class hotel
We toured Texas for the World Cup and this was our last stop. The hotels clean, comfortable with all the amenities you'd expect. In particular, the pool area is outstanding with plenty of beds, lots of room and a relaxed layout. Best kept secret was La Reserve bar which stayed open til midnight with a TV to watch the matches. The hotel has a courtesy car for trips within around 2 miles of the hotel, a really good service if you want a few beers. Further afield, there's loads of shops, bars, restaurants, etc within a 30 minute drive in all directions (the Honey Hole for breakfast is excellent). The Space Centre is about a one hour drive. Worth the visit, but be warned, if you want to see the original Apollo flight centre (as in the film) its classed as a separate tour that needs to be booked online before going. Finally, thank you to Alex for all the helpful advice and to Diane for the cocktails. If we were staying in Houston again, we'd definitely use the Omni. Thank you.
