Beautiful courtyard
Pool was nice and perfect temp. They also had a bar in pool area.
However hard to get a lounger since I think they sell cheap day passes for non guests. Guests ystaying should get priority.

Desire oyster bar rocks. Sit at oyster Bar and get chargrilled and raw oysters. The shuckers are awesome and take pride in their trade . Tip well. pjs coffee is also good and opens at 630 am.

All staff onsite very friendly

Very good 24/7 gym

I was at this hotel a few years ago and loved it. They have definitely slipped down the ranks.

The Good:
1) The location is great. In the heart of French Qtr.
2) The Staff is super friendly, check-in was easy and everyone I came in contact with was very nice.
3) if you work out the gym is 24/7 and has everything you need for all fitness levels.
4) A really nice interior courtyard well landscaped with fountain also. I enjoyed it for morning coffee. Quiet chill vibe.
5) PJs coffee onsite off lobby had some great Java and service was fast and efficient and opens at 630 am.
6) great interior courtyard pool and bar setup which is a total respite from the madness and heat of the qtr. Pool was a great temp, rectangular and deep so great for swimming if go early or late. Gets super crowded. More on that later which is a negative.

The not so good:

1) House Keeping: if you have do not disturb up early morning…. Ie they come around 9am. They will not come back. Learned that on first day and every day. They never came first day even though I called front desk at noon. Every mother day never came even though dnd sign taken down at 1030 am. I had to go to front desk before leaving with my friend to ensure it will get done. This was happening to others as well.

2) The hotel was not busy yet pool was packed and hard to get chairs. They sell daily pool passes to non guests at a cheap rate. As a guest that’s paying and staying at hotel we should have priority for lounge chair. We are paying to stay at hotel and a resort fee yet 3 days could not get a lounge chair and just used pool for swimming… not good and we will not return again because of this.

3) Love the old world French charm of this hotel and architecture. However the rooms need a refresh. Worn carpet crooked toilet, rusted balcony furniture, mold above French doors dirty drapes…dark room.

This is a 3.9 star hotel now. They also need to fix elevators. They were not working correctly and one closed entire 5 nights we were there. If hotel was busy would have been no bueno.

***Go to Desire Oyster Bar onsite and sit at oyster bar and get chargrilled and raw oysters and enjoy the guys that man this station and do the shucking and serving and take tons of pride in their work and are super friendly and engaging. They rock and tip well.

The room was quiet and clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful.

Joe at the valet service was excellent. He was knowledgeable and helped us find it way. He was also very kind and had perfect customer service skills. He made the trip most delightful!

I’ve stayed here several times however the cleanliness went down. Shower liners not changed
Carpet wet in the room windows were filthy.

We stayed three nights at this hotel. The location, the staff and the pool and rooms are all wonderful. However, I would highly recommend getting an interior room. We thought the balcony would be fun, but it is extremely loud early morning hours. Special shout out to Caleb, the bellman he was the best. Definitely recommend staying here.

Beautiful lobby and larger than normal rooms for being in the quarter. Easy access to all the sights and sounds. The valet Joe, is awesome and has been there for quite a while now.

The staff was amazing and the room was very comfy

The hotel is located right on Bourbon Street so you're literally steps from restaurants and bars, which was perfect for four older guys there for some fun and the noise level wasn't a factor! My experience from check in to check out exceeded my expectations. The rooms were very comfortable with ample amenities and overall the hotel was very clean. The staff from the guest services people, doorman and conseirge were awesome, which greatly influenced the atmosphere of the place! The hotel restaurant called Desire was great for a cold beer and conversation with the day bartender Chris!

Overall for the value, location and experience I would easily stay there again.

It was an amazing stay, we had a very good experience with the vallet parking, Joe helped us on everything with an excellent service and was very respectful with us.

Clean and convient

De locatie, de parking, het personeel, het zwembad en alles was netjes en schoon. En heerlijk bed en kussens.

Royal Sonesta was such a fun Hotel.

THE GOOD: Located in the heart of all the fun. Ease to All Day Shops, Food and Entertainment. Walk right into the Fun of the Evening right on Bourbon. The Guest and energy were fun and entertaining. The Hotels own Restaurants Bars and Pool did not disappoint with food and service. The Hotel staff was friendly inviting and helpful. From check-in being greeted by Jack, to our way out encouraging our return by Joe at Valet. Thanks for the Hospitality and Experience we will be back.

ISSUE- We Only had an issue at Check-in the room we booked with Balcony (since we had our daughter) wasn’t available. An hour wait then a room became available and we were placed by the pool with a terrace opening to the pool bar with smoking tables right outside our doors. Not ideal, but exhausted from check in and the late hour we just stayed in the room.
