The staff were exceptional and they offered me an affordable upgrade on checking in. The rooms were exceptional and all the service staff were extremely nice and helpful.

Gute Lage im Stadtviertel Union Square. Zahlreiche Einkaufsläden in der Nähe, gutes Angebot an verschiedenen Restaurants.
Sehr saubere Zimmer (wurden täglich 2x gereinigt), sehr zuvorkommendes, hilfsbereites und freundliches Personal.
Frühstücksbuffet lässt keine Wünsche offen (wurde in der Buchung inklusive gebucht), ein zusätzliches Angebot ab Karte war dabei.

El alojamiento es 4 estrellas. No es 5 como indica. Sin embargo es un excelente hotel para alojarse por su ubicación. El servicio y atención es de primera. El mobiliario de las habitaciones tienen unos años pero no deja de ser una habitación cómoda y cálida

We stayed in the Taj Compton for 3 nights in early May 2026. There were many positives and a few substantial negatives….
Location is excellent just off Union Square , perfect for a trip to the city.
The room was very good , clean and a good size. Beds were very comfortable and great bedding.
Bathroom was also large with shower and plus a full size bath = excellent . Sadly the shower pressure was not the best , one of the lights did not work and the toilet was dripping continuously ( but not noisly ) the towels were plentiful and of good quality.
Initially for Day 1 there were no cue tips and for the entire stay there were no supplies for the supplied coffee maker.
Generally the housekeeping staff were very good re the cleaning etc.
The TV was also good with a wide selection and very accessible to casting from your phone.
The elevators were great with a seperate service elevator and the service was quick ( but bearing in mind the hotel was not busy ).
The foyer was disappointing and not suitable in any way to hold a business meeting - small and few seats .
The bar was very small ( maybe for 20 people maximum , at the actual bR there was 4/5 seats only and the oversized heavy chairs didn’t help.
The bartender was very friendly as was all the staff - but the drinks were sub standard .
The main issue was the understaffing throughout , in particular breakfast was painful and frustrating. Again very pleasant people but not enough staff and poorly supported , Overall aspects were excellent but there were several critical issues - overall certainly NOT a five star hotel , maybe a 3.5 at best
Using Booking.com. They presented the cost for only one night when I clearly had asked for 2 nights. This was incredibly deceptive. Why would they only present the cost of one night. Yes, they did send an email that stated the total cost and it’s my fault for not checking but it should have been the total cost when I was booking it on their site. I will never use booking.com ever again. I was warned by a friend not to use them! Never ever again!!
Minor point but A hotel of this class should have rea bakery sourced l pastries for breakfast not "factory" made.
The property is very clean and pleasant, but what sets it apart is Roy! The service he provided was phenomenal.
The rooms could be updated/renovated, but it’s not so much an issue because the hotel is very clean.
The location was perfect as I had a conference round the corner. Centrally located and great hotel. Loved the slippers and the robes and the rooms were serviced twice daily
