Village Hotel Katong by Far East Hospitality

Good location—close to the airport, quiet inside, and with a mini supermarket downstairs.
The room is clean, the bed is comfortable, and the staff (particularly Malcolm) are very friendly.
Beakfest is included with the accommodation, and the buffet has lots of variety.

We stay at the Village Hotel Katong every time we fly to Singapore so have stayed here on about 8 occasions. The staff are always so helpful and on this occasion we had asked to be able to check in early as our flight arrived at 09.30 and they were able to do this for us and at no extra charge so we really appreciated this. The room was better than any we had stayed in before too. This is a fantastic place to stay as there is a supermarket downstairs, and a couple of cafes and restaurants. Also you can just walk through the supermarket into the main street of Katong which is full of wonderful Singaporean restaurants and has a fantastic real Singapore atmosphere. You can also walk to East Coast Park which is a lovely place for a stroll along the coast in beautifully kept gardens. There is a brand new shopping mall across the road too.

Fantastic support from the staff, particularly Hairi who was so helpful when we came back to pick up our suitcases that we had left in storage at end of our day exploring Singapore. We were also given access to the gym for a last shower before heading to the airport. And he kindly organise a taxi for us.

And a 5 min walk to the metro station. Super easy to navigate to the hotel. Lovely pool, it was apleasure to take a dip after a very warm day in town.

A bit difficult to approach the hotel main entrance if not via a car. We went there from a nearby hotel and tossing our heavy luggagees up to the driveway was hard physical activity. Rooms are very simple but clean and spacious although furnitures are bit on a rundown side , beds are comfortable. Continental western breakfast quality could/should be improved by healthyler offerings such as sourdough pastries and bread, much better quality cheese, not ultraprocessed ham and salami and much wider range of veggies and fruits selection. The only western option to pick from were watermelon cubes and green salad plus sliced black olives (most probably from a can). Beside it were sugary cereals and sugary joghurt selection and the mix of the las two. There were no fruit based or green tea option beside the only available basic black (earl grey) tea. Fruit juices were sugary versions too.

Sehr gute Lage, in Katong. Nahe MRT Station. Parkway Parade Mall gegenüber mit Restaurants , Geschäften etc. Da altes Hotel , sind Zimmer angenehm groß, Bad ebenso. Gibt Safe, Bügelbrett Bügeleisen, Schirm. Auch kleinen Kühlschrank, Kaffee, Tee , Wasserkocher.
Sehr freundliches Personal. Gutes/ Preis/ Leistungsverhältnis.

Location and value

The location of the hotel is very convenient with easy access to the bus and the MRT. Parkway Parade mall is just across the street. The room is cleaned everyday. A lot restaurants and hawkers are also available within the vicinity. The beach is in close proximity (albeit I wouldn't advise to swim). The feel of the area is more local as it is in the east coast and many choices of Peranakan food around.

Handily positioned within Katong and all amenities including subway and local park. Apartment was clean and tidy and pool was a welcome relief from the humidity.

Nahe bei der Metro. Durften am Abreisetag noch Duschen gehen und unser Gepäck zwischenlagern. Nettes Personal.
