Grand Hotel Excelsior Vittoria

Grand Hotel Excelsior gave us the most incredible stay! The hotel is positioned in the perfect location near the center of town, but then also remains peaceful in the hotel. The service was impeccable and views were stunning. We will definitely be back!

Magnificent hotel unrivalled location! A step back in time, old worldly charm with the facilities and service that are totally unique and I think unrivalled in the modern world

We came to celebrate our son's birthday at the hotel, but it felt like our kids were not welcome at the hotel. Before booking the hotel I asked if kids were welcome in the pool and got a yes as reply. Our first day in the pool there were issues with another guest from the hotel not being happy with kids there.
The hotel manager Tiziana Laterza and her friend (who was the guest being unhappy with our kids at the pool) were also at the restaurant that same evening and they were both not pleased with the kids appearance at the restaurant celebrating the birthday.
The hotel manager sent the kids to another part of the hotel with a football near an unmonitored car park so they couldn't disturb anyone. It does not seem responsible to send kids to play where there is a risk from cars driving in and out plus there was no hotel staff near to look after kids or cars.
It is interesting because the hotel manager in a post describes how the hotel embraces diverse realities that must coexist and here highlighting families with small children. But apparently the diversity is not welcomed everywhere at the hotel.

There wasn't a single recognition from the hotels side of my son's birthday, everything that was actioned was on our own behalf, arranging cakes, balloons etc. There was not a single card or a friendly gesture from staff.
We have spent my son's birthdays at other 5 stars hotels around the world with way better service.

We had a dinner at Terezza Bosquet and were advised the 12 courses would take 3 hours. It ended up taking 4 hours with a lot of waiting in between the courses. There were a few highlights but most was a mediocore experience, especially the coffee dessert experience was off.

The property - and especially at L'orangerie - is full of mosquitos.

We did not feel our kids were welcome at the hotel.

With that said the hotel is beautiful, most of the staff very kind and helpful and the food at L'Orangerie was good.

Went to enjoy cocktails whilst watching the sun set. Staff welcoming and we were seated on the outside veranda with great views over the coastline. Cocktails served with style.
Evening spoilt by a lady having video/ photos taken throughout the evening at the piano so centre stage. Appeared to be for the hotel itself but no explanation given by staff, no consent obtained or alternative seating offered.
Went for a special evening but at times felt really uncomfortable - not quite what I expected. Seems odd for a prestigious venue to not consider customer experience and privac.

Evening aperitifs overlooking the bay of naples with live music are unparalleled. The hotel is impeccably; well managed and is truly worthy of its five star rating. Family owned and operated-reared for almost 200 years, it blends timeless old world luxury with every modern necessity.

Perfectly possessed in the center of Sorrento. This hotel is spectacular and the staff is attentive and welcoming. You feel like family.

Avoid avoid The manager of the hotel Tiziana is rude horrible this is not a place for family with kids .
She put our kids in a dangerous .Avoid avoid avoid + full of mosquitos even with spray crazy .

I cannot recommend the Excelsior Virttoria enough! The hotel and gardens were beautiful! Dinner at Terrazza Bosquet was a highlight! The staff were absolutely EXCEPTIONAL - so attentive and accommodating! Our room was spacious, well maintained, and cleaned. There were so many special touches that made the experience beyond expectations. We will definitely be staying here again!

The hotel goes out of their way to make you feel comfortable and at home. We were there with our kids, and we also saw a lot of couples, and everyone was made to feel welcome. Staff is accommodating, friendly, and professional

Frühstück war sehr gut aber nicht überwältigend

Back home to my cottage, cases unpacked and now just photos and memories to share...memories, here's but a few, Bellinis at sunset on that most celebrated of Terraces ( hats off to young Rafael, a gem in the making) our rooms kept immaculately (thank you Dora), the pool team always willing and helpful....with the pool at perfect cooling temperature....not to forget the garden team, our youngest found perfect tranquility listening to her music from the comfort of the hammock under the lemon trees. Must not forget breakfast with its abundance of treats....initially (after a few attempts) disappointed not to find a table at the "posh" restaurant, but golly gosh her younger sister (L'Orangerie) was a delight. Professional staff, yet relaxed with splendid food to match. Indeed a treat. Overall, this Grande Dame excels in each and every department. A very special Hotel with a team that exceeds every expectation. Thank you....Winter awaits but with a fair wind we will return yet again to enjoy some magic on the Sorrentine Penisular.

Popped in for a very nice drink at sunset. Gorgeous location. Minimum spend €25pp but easily done with some drinks. Genuinely brilliant live music and atmosphere.

Service was so good. We didn’t stay so I can’t comment on the rooms. The bar was very clean and quite chilled in terms of noise.

A very breath taking experience, the hotel sits on immaculate grounds that is so meticulously maintained that it looks effortless. Our deluxe room with ocean view was remarkable.

This hotel is just amazing, staff are all so friendly and helpful, everything was just perfect. Food quality and cleanliness was superb.
