Convenient
Very dated, and service in restaurant very slow.
Not much
Direct TV did not work. Front desk claimed there was an outage. Not true. Other guests had Cable access.
Staff was not helpful. Did not seem to care. The answer was “ I don’t know… Nothing I can do… what do you want me to do…, you can talk to the manager in the morning…”
One girl didn’t even look up when I was talking to her and her front desk partner, like she didn’t care…
Tiny bathroom, no parking and no complimentary breakfast. K was told parking on street was okay because their parking lot was full. I got a ticket for their advice. Won’t stay again. .
Wow where to start, 1st room, NO working tv, hot water on the fritz, we get moved to another room
And it’s next to an employee kitchen on the 5th floor made out of what used to be maybe a storage closet? Theres a full fridge, stove, pots pans dishes, everything, I went into it. The noise from this room was incredible, like sleeping in a kitchen, slams, drops, pots pans clanging every possible noise you could think of happened, plus the 15 people in this little tiny space eatting for till 11pm, I will report to best western corporate as well. The smell of the the workers food was not good, the employees live into the hotel rooms, we watched the children come out of the kitchen and into their private rooms. Absolute crap
While the location is fabulous, we stayed three days and had no heat, and no working TVs in either room. I tried to use the hotel phone to call the front desk to tell them, but that did didn’t even work.
Convenient
Very noisy heating system which kept us awake. No tea making facilities in the room, just a coffee machine. Walls quite thin and we could hear people in rooms around us
Great location! They were able to get me in to my room very early, which was very helpful as I was only there for one day.

Location
Very expensive for mediocre accommodation
Overall the hotel is clean but needs a renovation. In addition, the hotel has no AC. Our room was on the second floor and I heard noises all night - not sure where noises came from. I wouldn’t spend a week here but for a night it was fine. Not many options in Juneau.
When we found out about our overnight layover in Juneau, we got excited with the possibility of exploring a new city, new culture, and hopefully, a cozy place to stay. A $400 hotel room seems like a splurge, an opportunity to live luxuriously for a night. However, our stay completely soured our impression of Juneau. Our $40 taxi from the airport dropped us off at an entrance with the grandiose of a strip mall. Upon entry, I watched a frail woman heaving her own trolley with her luggage as unoccupied staff sat behind the counter.
Upon check in, the clunky card machine ruined multiple cards before we got our one room key card for the night. The elevator shook as it brought us to the… 2nd floor. The dim lit, musty hallways brought us to our room, and as our door creaked open, we were met with a wave of humidity. This room, by far, was the smallest I’ve ever seen, resembling a NYC shoebox apartment. Although I’m sure those apartments at least have AC and a mini fridge. Opening the curtains, I took in my view of a beautiful parking lot, through a hazy window caked with years of dirt. A tear in the screen brought me a newfound lack of security, seeing how close our window was to the street. Not to mention that the window didn’t actually lock, with many attempts. As I shut the curtains, I quickly realized that there will always be a tiny gap in the curtain, with no overlap, stripping our sense of security down to that of prisoners. The industrial toilet sat behind the door, no knee space, with the joys of 6 squares left on the roll. I guess we get to change it ourselves! Don’t mind the lack of a fan in the restroom. You conveniently get to share all the smells with everyone you’re sharing the room with. The shower clunked on, as water slowly dripped out. Either too hot or too cold. Only after jiggling the handle and slapping the faucet a couple times did the true water pressure come through. Finally, something to help me escape while standing in a 2x4 child-sized bathtub.
I am a HAL/SBN officer and Baranof was my assigned hotel, room 229. 1st impression was not very good, the entrance floor was soiled, I arrived at 11.30pm the receptionist was grumpy and not very well groomed for a front of house role but once in the room, it was well appointed, lots of amenities, great bathtub, excellent bedding and housekeeping, the AC did not work however. The breakfast buffet was well thought of with plenty of options. The server " Nina" was spectacular, well groomed, kind, very hospitable and super efficient. She was the highlight of my stay. The hotel is superbly located in downtown with snowcapped mountains in he backdrop, I reccomend it 100%
Hard to like it with the rude staff
That they were racist
The location was perfect for walking Juneau.
The first night there was no hot water. The king room was very small with a view of the roof. Most of the staff was not empathetic at all.
Location what is excellent. Room was good. Warm and comfortable. No real extras or anything special.
It seemed very expensive, but maybe that’s what it costs in the prime location. I was there for one night.
The staff were all very friendly, helpful, and all-around great people. The only 2 gripes I have for my entire stay is how unreliable the room keys are, sometimes being deactivated when held near common devices; all easily fixed though by visiting the help desk.
The only unbearable experience was the parking. Of course it’s not too controllable due to the city layout and limited spaces, but the guests that stay there are so incredibly terrible at parking their rentals, that arriving when there are only 3 spaces left is immensely infuriating. You will need to have a spotter and complete a 10-20 point turn in order to squeeze into the tiny and especially, double-parked spaces that people just don’t care whatsoever as to cause an issue for all other guests.
