Cons:

Even though we booked a non-smoking room, the entire room reeked of cigarette smoke, and the ceiling ventilation was visibly stained with smoke residue. The carpet was so dirty and old that we had to keep our shoes on inside the room the whole time—something we never do in hotel rooms.
​To make matters worse, the hallway wallpaper was peeling off, and the room door was so sticky and dirty it felt repulsive just to touch it. Basic hygiene and maintenance seem entirely neglected here. I strongly advise staying elsewhere

The air conditioning unit was extremely loud and became increasingly loud throughout the night and to the point of needing to be turned off. Also, the tub faucet was partially removed from the wall. The TV was very dated. Overall, disappointed considering the price.

Old dirty hotel
Pros:

Dirty smelly old hotel.
Appears that the cleaning people haven’t cleaned the sheets and the room smells like smoke. The bathtub is missing a drain plug and it is very dirty with 70’s tile. Spiders have been seen on the windows and on the dirty carpet.

Rooms need new air conditioners!!
Pros:

The air conditioning unit was so loud that neither my husband or I could sleep. Despite turning it down to 66 degrees we could not lower the temperature from 74 degrees in the room.
There’s a nice restaurant on the top floor that rotates so you can get a great view of Duluth.

It was for our airshow family trip, and turned out to be amazing.
Pros:

The pool was amazing, and loved the view it gave. Wish I had gotten the water view, but other than that it was all a great experience.

One of my worst hotel experiences ever
Pros:

1. Safety: An apparent homeless man wandering through the poorly lit and dilapidated parking ramp literally talking to the walls. Very concerning. Trips to the car were made by me for fear of my wife getting attacked.
Parking garage appears greatly weathered. The rain water leaks down and drips on the cars parked on the 1st floor. The blacktop is full of pot holes and is buckled in places. The lighting is very dim and creepy.
There was a large group of people (like 20) sitting on the step in front of the door from the 2nd floor of the garage smoking weed... with their kids present. They were there all day! I had to walk MY KIDS through weed smoke. They were playing football amongst the parked cars. At one point, they were driving a large F150 truck through the lot and a man was hanging out of the passenger window to receive a throw. I had to slam my brakes to not get hit! Management refused to do anything. I don't need my car hit by a truck or a football. Or broken into for that matter.
2. Cleanliness: No vent fan in bathroom resulting in black mold growing on the ceiling. Big stains on the carpet all over the place. Building very worn. Stains on the ceiling from a large water leak. Everything in the hotel appears 30 plus years old.
3. Uncomfortable: Whole floor and elevator reeks of weed smoke. I didn't enjoy having to dodge the question from my 5 yr old about what "THAT" smell is (weed). The cleaning staff sprayed a deodorizer that was so thick it made my whole family gag in the hallway. Not exaggerating. We were all coughing.
Elevator very slow.
TV has some sort of auto quieting thing. When watching Moana, the audio would fade during the louder scenes and then come back. It was irritating to watch like that.
They ran out of parking spots for guests. No parking anywhere on July 4 for blocks. Multiple cars in lot without parking pass on windshield (I looked). No parking attendant. Manager refused to do anything. This was the final blow that caused me to evacuate my family to a different hotel at 9:30 in the evening right before the fireworks started. Wife furious. Not fun.
Had no problems at all at the next hotel.
Previous poor reviews I have read are accurate.
Management said they'd request a refund. I'm not holding my breath.

It is a shame what is charged for a room when the overall hotel is run down and dirty.
Pros:

Nothing. Thankful it was only an overnight stay. I would not recommend staying here.

Cons:

The lady that checked us in was very nice! The whole hotel needs a good cleaning and could use updates. Restaurant is dirty as well as the room, carpets-stained bathroom not even sure what to say. We sat by a window in the restaurant an looked down and dried up food and crumbs. I think you need to get a good cleaning service in to clean this hotel top to bottom. This hotel is very overpriced.

The 4th of July weekend
Pros:

Guys, it’s 3 star hotel, but it seems like it higher than many 4star hotels; the room that me and my wife stayed was really nice and clean. The only “issue” was that it was not enough half and half for coffee:)

Stay Away - Owners clearly don’t care
Pros:

The floor in our room was soaking wet. A guy came and looked at it and brought towels and a fan. He was being helpful, but what the actual heck? What hotel just treats soaked carpet upon check-in as a “no big deal”. The guy even said the owners don’t care, the property is just going to crap. They are also charging $200 a night with taxes and fees, for the privilege of staying in a room that has a water leak. No other room was offered, just “it happens, we will take a look.”
The hotel looks like it hasn’t been updated in many spots in decades.
We ordered food from the restaurant, the food was very good, but the lady behind the bar that took our order seemed annoyed with us. She was busy, which I can understand is stressful, but she made it seem like we were inconveniencing her.
