We always enjoy our stay at the university hotel.
Pros:

It was quiet. The location is central to my needs in the area. I enjoyed the continental breakfast each morning.

Cons:

The TV in my room was broken. Despite multiple notifications, no one came to fix it prior to my checking out.

Safe location, great staff, delicious breakfast, comfy beds, but missing a bathroom counter
Pros:

The location at the south end of the South Park Blocks feels safe enough for us and our car yet within walking distance of downtown and the Pearl District. I have stayed here many times and appreciate some of the more recent upgrades, namely a firmer, more comfortable bed and a better breakfast. At breakfast we were delighted to find good, plain yogurt and delicious homemade granola along with an assortment of fresh and dried fruit and pepitas and almonds. There was also a variety of bread products including make-your-own waffles. All of the staff--at the front desk, cleaning staff, and in the breakfast room--were friendly and aimed to please.

Cons:

In the room "upgrades," a large sink replaced a useful counter and smaller sink. Now there is no place for my toiletries, very inconvenient. Also, there is no towel rack near the sink.

Not a good nights sleep
Pros:

How close it was to OHSU Children's Hospital & Price.

Cons:

The staff was not very friendly did not smile, seemed irritated/bothered by me asking questions. TV did not work in the first room were were put in then we were moved to another room TV did work but A/C-Heater did not work and the room was on the backside of the hotel with the free way behind it VERY LOUD & VERY HOT & HORRIBLE BEDS! DO NOT ACCEPT ROOM 350! I Tossed & turned all night and then had to wake up very early to take my daughter to Doernbecher Children's Hospital at OHSU. I have chosen this hospital the last 4 months just because of affordability traveling out of state and because it is so close to the hospital but after this last trip I think I will spend the extra money to have a nicer hotel with friendlier staff.

Good value for downtown Portland. Clean and comfortable.
Pros:

Easy check in and out. Room was clean. Parking reasonably priced. Near OHSU so convenient for appointments. Good value in downtown Portland.

Cons:

Breakfast was better than the last time we were there, still could use some hot items. The AC units are a bit noisy. Need to walk or drive to a restaurant for dinner.
