What a magical night! We started off with drinks at Off The Record. The pear martinis were delicious! Araya took great care of us. Then we followed with dinner at The Lafayette. Everything there was perfect. With the chandeliers sparkling above us and the White House within view, the ambiance made for a luxurious setting that words cannot describe. Kenny, our server, was exceptional. A special note for the manager, Ignacio. He went above and beyond and made us feel like DC royalty. Thank you Hay -Adams for a memorable holiday evening!
Iconic historic Hay Adams hotel was perfect to celebrate our daughter's graduation from Geo Washington University in gracious style. Beautifully traditionally appointed rooms, top drawer staff & first rate elegant dining experience. Everything is an elevated experience & we felt well cared for.
The Hay Adams, Restaurant Lafayette was an exemplary dining experience.
Ignacio Rabin and team went above and beyond providing remarkable service from the moment we entered the door to our last post dinner beverages.
They all did an exceptional job and we will return every opportunity we can when we’re visiting from Texas. Just amazing!!
Luxurious DC hotel right across from the White House. First class service, deep carpets, real towels in the lavatories, yes folks, this is fine living. You must request a room with a WH view or you may be assigned on the other side; this place is so fancy you feel like you’re in an Embassy, it’s wonderful.
The Hay Adams is where we always choose to stay when visiting DC because of their exceptional accommodations and service. Special thanks to Brian T., the Concierge, for going above and beyond in assisting us in arranging transportation to Arlington National Cemetery. Off The Record bar never disappoints!
My wife & I were there May 1. Our experience could not have been better, from check in to check out. We especially appreciated the Saturday morning attention we received from the concierge, Brian. He had the answers to all of our questions and was a wealth of knowledge about the Hotel and the neighborhood. Thank you Brian!
From the moment we entered the Hay-Adams hotel we were greeted with the warmest, most welcoming team. Check-in was flawless and we were able to access our room quite early. Sandor ( who was excellent btw) at the Concierge desk worked diligently and was able to secure us same day passes to the US Capitol, upon our request. Valet/Door men were always gracious and willing to assist with whatever we needed. Breakfast was FANTASTIC, food, service all superb and something we looked forward to each morning. Our room was beautifully appointed and exceptionally clean. The speakeasy bar downstairs Off the Record, was a terrific end to our day. Even though it is quite the spot and is crowded, the servers and bartenders work hard to find you a seat and take care of you while you are waiting. Food was also great. If you are looking for a boutique type hotel with incredible service, charm and the most wonderful location in D.C. - look no more - just book it!
Simply the best, most elegant hotel in Washington and maybe anywhere. Everyone on the staff knows your name and is so helpful!
The hotel, of course, is an amazing representation of our nation's history in addition to having rooms with added luxury. However, it is the people that make this hotel a true gem when visiting DC. From the moment you enter, you are looked after in every possible way. A huge shout-out to the conceirge team, who consistently went way about and beyond, in helping us arrange visits to the Capitol. The food was incredible and Denish, their florist provided an amazing beautiful flower arrangement for my Dad's funeral. Thank you so much!
The Hay-Adams delivered an exceptional experience from start to finish. The team was incredibly professional, attentive, and thoughtful in every detail of our event. From planning through execution, communication was seamless and the staff went above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly.
What stood out most was the team’s flexibility and care; they handled last-minute adjustments with ease and professionalism.
A special thank you to Isabella and the events team for their partnership — we truly appreciated the level of attention and hospitality. I would not hesitate to host another event here and highly recommend the Hay-Adams for anyone looking for a first-class experience in Washington.
This was one of the nicest hotels we've stayed out. From the moment you walk in the door, you are greeted and most times by name. The service was impeccable. The room was amazing. I worked with the Concierge, Franziska before we arrived. She was amazing to work with. She planned our transportation to/from airport, private tours and food reservations. Her recommendations were amazing and all turned out perfect with no issues. We will definitely stay here again when we return to DC.
Right as we were checking out, the concierge asked us if we could write them a review and we were very eager to do so. went to DC with my sister and my mom for four days and we are so glad that we chose to go to the hay Adams hotel. The greatest thing about it is the beautiful view of the White House and being so close to everything in the downtown area as well as Ronald Reagan airport. We didn’t know much about DC Lakewood restaurants to go to or which sites to visit, but the concierge gave us an incredible overview of everything we could do in our four day stay as well as restaurants that we went to every night, which were all incredible recommendations. Furthermore, I am a big aviation guy, and upon hearing about how incredible the air and space museum of DC was I was very disappointed to figure out that they were fully booked given that we were traveling during the spring break where all the cherry blossoms were blooming. But it only took one call to the concierge to let us know that they were able to get us entrance tickets for only an hour later. The hotel itself is immaculate with the service being incredible. The restaurants being delicious and the whole hotel being gorgeous. We cannot wait to go back to DC and the Hay Adams hotel.
Makeda and Ignacio were first class! Wonderful birthday dinner and celebration. The details were handled perfectly!
We had a fantastic stay at the Hay Adam’s! The staff was lovely and our rooms were clean and beautiful. We booked through American Express and were so thankful they could give us early check in! We loved having a convincing room to our son. We also appreciated their dog friendly policy and were thrilled to be able to bring our pets! Breakfast was delicious each morning and our stay was a delight from start to finish.
When I tell you this amazing hotel goes above and beyond- there is nothing they could improve! Impeccable hospitality, fabulous food, the cleanliness! From the time they open the beautiful doors to the cleanliness of the room- it is utter perfection. The warm cookies and mini chocolate White House greet you on Day 1. There is nothing better place to stay or visit- don’t look any further.
Service is always outstanding at the Hay-Adams. Rooms can be a bit noisy (older building). Extremely clean, simple (but clean) workout room. Highly recommend.
This is a fabulous hotel. Ideally located, every detail is top notch. Special kudos to the staff - reception desk, concierge, lobby, staff, and room service. We could not have asked for a better stay.
Great historic hotel. Real charm.
Excellent breakfast
Speakeasy downstairs has great coasters.
Passable gym
What a location
Gurtej checked me in twice - top shelf professional, solved every niggle with a smile, which at 2am counts for a lot.
Very disappointing experience for us. I was eagerly looking forward to our 3-night stay at The Hay-Adams and first impressions were good; beautiful lobby, attentive staff etc....then we got to our room which was directly across from the elevator on the second floor. I am a light sleeper so I called down to the front desk to see if we could change to a room farther away. They told me to check back and they would look into it. We were supposed to be staying in a better room grade at almost $800 a night so I thought it would no be a problem--and finally they said they had a room on the 6th floor, unfortunately with only a queen size bed but we said we would take it. We got to the room which was an interior room directly across from a huge generator which had a constant loud buzz. It was awful and the next morning I asked to be moved back to our original room. No other choice was offered, we would have paid more for a better room. We moved back in the afternoon as they said the cleaning staff had to make it ready. The room itself is pretty, nice decoration but we found the sealed shampoo had already been opened. Bar is nice albeit the bar staff not very friendly.
