We really liked FST, it was as qwercky as expected-thankfully a good antidote to the bland city centre ones!

Pros:

I felt so welcome at this hotel. The staff couldn't have been friendlier. As a solo traveller, I felt incredibly safe and comfortable. The food at The Button Factory was delicious and my coeliac needs were well catered for. Thank you.

Cons:

There was nothing I didn't like and I hope to visit again.

Cozy little boutique hotel short walk from Birmingham centre

Best avoided.
Pros:

We booked this for a one night stay for a concert in Birmingham. It was fairly reasonably priced -I booked early. And you could walk to the venue in 15 minutes. The photos looked nice. The bathroom was spacious and clean.

Cons:

I don't know if, as demand rose after concert tickets were released, we were put in the worst room as we had paid less. It did not look like the ones on the photos. We stayed in room 4 at the back on the ground floor. This room is dark and damp. There is very little natural light and if you open the small window that gives on to an inner courtyard at the back of the pub it lets in very little light or fresh air.
Other issues -Cold tap coming loose from sink-Lighting extremely dim- Hole in wall below TV- visible damp patch above shower - Someone in the room above was thumping about from 6am. There was no-one at reception so you had to go to pub next door. For one night we suffered it but it was not a pleasant experience. The owners do not seem to have responded to any of the bad reviews. Where are they? There didn't seem to be a manager around. I believe there was a phone number for reporting issues but when the building is full with a big concert in town you know you are stuck! The staff in the pub have to leave their post to show you in and we didn't see anyone around to complain. Would have been a waste of time as there were no other rooms free anyway.

Pros:

I loved the decor; the facilities were more than satisfactory (the fridge was a bonus); my room was clean and the bed comfortable. Decent shower and excellent staff.

Great location, very nice rooms, quick and efficient staff
Pros:

Very nice decorated rooms a short walk from the city centre. Basic services, but nice sized rooms, and lovely bathrooms with all the facilities you could need.

Cons:

Breakfast bar is mininal, check-in is via the bar, but these are only small issues.
