The staff was exceptionally polite and deserved recognition. Unfortunately the hotel is in dire need of renovation. Our room was described as petite; however, I did not expect it to be so cramped that it was difficult to navigate around the furnishings. Lastly, the room refrigerator initially appeared to be cool but stopped working during our stay, which resulted in items requiring refrigeration spoiling.

My stay at the Omni Hotel was just okay. The location was excellent and very convenient, especially for attending Essence Fest and exploring the surrounding area. That said, there were several things that left me disappointed. The rooms are dated and could definitely use a refresh. On the morning of my checkout, housekeeping knocked on my door at 9:00 a.m., which woke me up well before I was ready to get up. I was also surprised and disappointed to see artwork featuring the Confederate flag displayed in the lobby. During a weekend when so many Black guests were visiting to celebrate Essence Fest, I found it to be insensitive and triggering. Hotels should strive to create a welcoming environment for all guests, and this display did not reflect that. While the location is a major advantage, my overall experience did not meet my expectations. Unfortunately, I won't be staying here again.
The location was close to everything, the hotel itself was very nice. The staff was great, especially Troy who served us at one of the bars on the lower level. The food was good, as well. Great areas to take pictures as well.
The AC in my room was not working so it was very uncomfortable. No matter what temperature I put the thermostat, it didn't change the room temp. The hallways were super cold but the room was uncomfortably hot. I couldn't sleep so we left early.
We stayed at the Omni hotel in New Orleans and it was the best experience we have ever had. Julie Yates made our stay memorable as she made it super special for our son’s graduation trip.
The hotel was located in a beautiful location in the French quarter and it is the most beautiful and luxurious hotel we have ever stayed at. The rooms were very clean and not noisy as we stayed in the French quarter. You feel like royalty as you are also treated warmly and kindly by all the hotel staff. The roof pool deck is out of a storybook, the “hall of mirrors” with beautiful chandeliers by the ballrooms was beyond words. Beautiful is all I can say!! BEST EXPERIENCE!
Very clean, great location, amazing staff
Walking distance for everything in the French quarter area.
Getting to the valet was weird
The bed were uncomfortable and the bathroom was not clean properly

Everyone at the hotel are professional, friendly, kind, and very welcoming. The red room, Restaurant, our waiter Baris, have a culinary degree. With his experience, my wife have gluten dairy and weight allergies he was able to share his knowledge. Let us know which dishes She can have. Gave my wife a relief that she was able to eat everything without worry of cross-contamination. He made our breakfast and dinnerexperience wonderful and amazing.
The only disappointment was our room. We booked a room with a balcony and a downgrade us to a small room. Our friends had two queensize bed and their room was almost double our size. And the only credit was $50 a night. The reason for this was because they claim that overbooked. So how does that happen if you’re running such a beautiful hotel, with so much potential that you over booked the rooms you have available.
There were also plenty of highlights. The staff at the Rib Room, The Three Maries, and the pool were all exceptional. The Jazz Brunch band was outstanding, and I'm surprised it wasn't busier. The hotel's central location was fantastic, and the pool area was beautiful, relaxing, and incredibly convenient. Cookie from room service was an absolute gem, and Troy at the bar was wonderfully accommodating he also made an excellent Hugo Spritz.
Overall, we had a pleasant stay, and most of the staff were friendly. However, there were a few aspects of the service that didn't meet the standard I would expect from a highly rated four-star hotel.
The housekeeping schedule was particularly unusual. We stayed for four nights, and our room was not serviced once during our stay. We eventually had to call room service to request fresh towels because we weren't sure whether we had misunderstood the housekeeping policy. I appreciate returning to a clean room with replenished amenities, so this was disappointing.
I also found the bell staff to be inconsistent. When we arrived, no one offered to assist us with our luggage, despite staff helping other guests. The same happened when I was leaving and carrying my suitcase down the stairs. I believe every guest should receive the same level of service regardless of how they are dressed or arrive at the hotel. While I can't say why we weren't offered assistance, it left us feeling overlooked.
Another surprise was being asked to authorize a $400 hold on our credit card for incidentals. Having worked in the travel industry, I understand that pre-authorizations are common, but I found this amount unusually high. What confused me further was speaking with another couple staying at the hotel, who said they had not been asked for the same hold. That inconsistency was puzzling and left me wondering why our experience differed.
None of these issues individually ruined our stay, but together they left us feeling that the service fell short of what we expected from a hotel of this calibre. The staff were generally pleasant, but the experience with the front desk, housekeeping, and bell staff could be improved to provide a more consistently welcoming experience for all guests. (Especially as we were here for part of our honeymoon)
My husband and I had a wonderful stay at the Omni Royal Orleans! The property is beautiful and the location is perfect for walking all around the French Quarter. Our room was clean and comfortable. It was quiet at night. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. I highly recommend staying at the Omni Royal Orleans.
Great location is all about this place, nothing else is great at all. Very outdated rooms, rusty bathrooms, old lighting in the room, stinky carpet and the AC works sometimes, it stops during the night and you might wake up sweating. The service is also lacking, attendants are rude in different areas of the property- like at breakfast, reception and etc. Don't waste your money, I wouldn't stay there even if they pay me to stay,
The staff was incredibly sweet and made me feel attended to
The room was so hot it was extremely hard to sleep in, I slept about 3 hours a night.
Elevator issues, 5 day stay, one elevator not working, then all elevators not working on day of check out.
Excellence location, welcoming staff, pool and deck were absolutely beautiful with amazing view. I would return again to this Hotel.
