Excellent location and foyer area. Kind staff. However, rooms had mold in the bathrooms and balcony needed repainting as it was peeling and unsafe to walk on without shoes.
Beds were comfy and it was clean, but needed better maintenance.
Outstanding hotel! Old but in great shape! Awesome staff! The service was outstanding. I can't say enough about it! Get the courtyard room-it's worth it!
Well located. Roof pool and bar were good
It is tired and in need of improvements. The carpet in room was dirty and stained
Room, cleanliness, staff, facilities, location, shower pressure, courtyard, elevator efficiency
Beautiful hotel in a great location, that's the good. The rooms are small and the bathrooms weren't properly maintained, leaking faucets, dirty grout etc., that's the bad. The pool was closed because they are redoing the pool area, I would have greatly appreciated if that would have been disclosed before booking and not told at check in. The only reason I chose this hotel was because I wanted to take my kids to the pool.
On day 3 of day 7 our shower stopped working. We called the front desk at 830am. They said they would send someone to our room. We hadn't showered but needed to be somewhere at 3pm. We left and came back at noon and no one had addressed the shower. We called the front desk again and they said they would send maintenance. 10 min later maintenance showed up and looked at the shower and said they would need to send someone to fix it and to just go to the pool and in 10-15 min it would be fixed. Before heading to the pool I realized that the safe I had locked my money and passports earlier in had now been turned off and was unlocked. I called the front desk again to tell them the safe was no longer working. We went to the pool for over and hour and came back to the room. When we came back the bathroom was completely ripped apart. The mirror had been taken down and there was a hole ripped in the wall. There were tools all over the counter and debris everywhere. None of our stuff had been moved and dust and debris was all over our stuff, I including our toothbrushes. The shower was ripped apart with all of our stuff in it. Maintenance said it was going to take awhile and we needed to change rooms. He said he didn't know where we went and he didn't know why they would tell us to leave and go to the pool because there was no way we could stay in that room. We called the front desk to find out what was going on. The front desk person was very rude and didn't care what was happening to us. She put us on hold for 10+minutes. In this time the maintenance person also discovered that someone had also switched off our safe from the inside. Luckily nothing was missing, that we could tell. But someone had obviously accessed our belongings in the safe. My husband called the front desk again because no one came back on the phone and asked to speak to the manager. The asked the manager not to out him on hold again and instead the manager cut him off and immediately put him on hold again for 15 minutes and never came back to the phone. During this time I went to the front desk and asked to speak to the manager. After waiting for 5+ minutes the manager finally came to the desk. I explained who I was and the situation. Instead of apologizing and showing empathy, she immediately got defensive and was extremely rude. She told me they would switch our room and to go upstairs and wait for someone to come and bring our keys. A few minutes later someone came and helped us to our new room. They ended up comping us for one night. We never heard from the manager again. She never checked on us again to make sure everything was ok or how our stay was going. The rooms are old and falling apart. The room was hot the entire stay and we sweated the entire time. We will never stay at this hotel again. The pool was nice though
The staff was some what rude. I guess because me and my sister are two young black women who didn’t fit into one’s box or possibly meet one’s standards, the rude stares and slick remarks made me never want to stay there again! We didn’t even feel comfortable enough to go to the pool! (The place was too expensive for us to feel uncomfortable.) My bathroom was also dirty when I got there. I paid a $30 fee for two nights to receive water and stuff (which I did not). Also housekeeping did not clean our rooms or give us fresh towels. I’ve stayed at plenty NICER hotels, we always have received fresh bedding daily and new towels… but I digress.
As usual, the Omni Royal Orleans did not disappoint. From outstanding guest room service, to the lobby service and food & banquet and events services - everything was outstanding. We could not have had more cooperative staff to meet our every need. On top of all this, the hotel is perfectly located within easy walking distance to all major venues. A big "thank you" to Dan Brockhoeft, Rhonda Thibaut and the entire staff at the Royal Orleans for helping make our annual meeting such a success!
Beautiful property, delicious food and drinks, comfortable beds and great location.
Pool was small.
Beautiful room! Very clean and quiet. Wonderful bed!
Great highend hotel in the heart of the French Quarter. Near all the hot spots and fine dining establishments. Great location.
This one is clear, the location is amazing! So close to all the French Quarter wonders. The vibe is kind of spooky and I liked that. The king suite is very spacious. The rooftop area is super nice. The balcony in our suite was adorable and the bed was comfy if you like a soft bed.
We booked a suite and in the website there’s no specification of having rooms wheelchair accessible or not. The bathrooms (we had two) were extremely small. The public bathrooms from the floor were always locked.
There is a lift inside that can take you from the lobby to the front door and when we asked to use it, we were always told it did not work. I had to go from my room to the garage to around the whole building to make it to the front door. But the lift works, as the guy in the restaurant helped me use it during my last day. It gave me the impression that there are some workers who simply don’t want to bother helping and they say “it’s broke” to avoid helping.
The Rib Room food was fine, steak, great…except the fried flounder. That plate is horrible and I threw up all night. I will have nightmares about that dish forever.
Great location
Bathroom and bed was too small
I was very pleased with my stay. They recognized it was our Anniversary and left complimentary strawberry's and champaign. Guests services were professional and courteous, the rooms were very clean, and they had a coffee shop that remained open the majority of the day. Lastly, there was always someone at the door to answer questions and greet you properly as you entered/exited the hotel. Very pleasant experience.
It was rough.. we did not have a quality experience with our rooms. In our first room the toilet had been used and not flushed. Our second room had mice droppings. If you run hot you may not adjust your room temperature below 68 degrees. The guest fee to park per night was 50 dollars. It was not a quality welcoming experience. Very uncomfortable...
Our stay was perfect! Beautiful property, great location, the staff was amazing and so welcoming and warm. The room was spacious and beautiful. The pool was under construction but we were offered to use a different property. It was raining so we didn't have the chance. Would definitely stay here again
No hot water in the shower
Dear Omni after 20+ years of staying at the Omni Royal, we are breaking up. Stayed in a premium room with a balcony. The beds are totally worn, sink in like a worn out camper mattress and sheets are institutional. Pillows are worse than my dog bed. I’ve traveled for 38 years and can tolerate just about anything but for a vacation at +400/ night it should be nicer than my 10 year old camper…..it’s not. Lobby is clean, pool is under renovations which is terrific but the rooms are worn out. Simple fixes like painting giant scrapes, the balcony paint hasn’t been updated in a decade. Please do better unfortunately we are now divorced. Keep the worn out furniture and dirty carpet.
