Overpriced, old-fashioned but in a good location
Pros:

The front lobby and exterior of this hotel look expensive but once you get to the floor of your room, you will notice how old everything is. It's time for a major renovation! Dark stained carpet and bathrooms that do not function well in terms of how the space is utilized.

Cons:

The pool hours sucked and it was way too small. When large groups of people gather it makes it impossible for anyone else to use. Perhaps a sign-up sheet would be helpful.

Terrible air-conditioning
Pros:

Great location - walking distance to everything. The hotel looks gorgeous with a nice small pool area to escape the heat. The staff were incredibly friendly - could not fault the staff.

Cons:

The air-conditioning was awful. It literally felt like stepping into a sauna when we entered the room. We requested to move rooms and it was even worse in the next room so we gave up. We requested a portable fan to cool the room but it took 24 hours for the fan to arrive at our room, and then it did not cool the room at all. If you are a hot sleeper, this hotel is not for you.

My stay was a mix of positive experiences and some disappointments related to room accommodation
Pros:

The on-site jazz club was a wonderful amenity and provided an enjoyable atmosphere during my stay. Additionally, the hotel’s central location made it very convenient to explore the French Quarter and nearby attractions.

Cons:

My stay at the Omni Royal Orleans was mixed. Several staff members were friendly and went above and beyond, while others simply met expectations. My main concern was being placed in a room that was consistently too cold and directly below ongoing construction; although I was offered another room, this was not until after I had unpacked, and I feel I should have been informed about the renovations at check-in, additionally, the construction workers tripped the fire alarm and everybody had to evacuate out of the building. By the time, we were able to get our handicap family member downstairs then they finally called a false alarm.

Almost there, but not quite
Pros:

The staff was exceptionally polite and deserved recognition. Unfortunately the hotel is in dire need of renovation. Our room was described as petite; however, I did not expect it to be so cramped that it was difficult to navigate around the furnishings. Lastly, the room refrigerator initially appeared to be cool but stopped working during our stay, which resulted in items requiring refrigeration spoiling.

Disappointed
Pros:

You rated
My stay at the Omni Hotel was just okay. The location was excellent and very convenient, especially for attending Essence Fest and exploring the surrounding area. That said, there were several things that left me disappointed. The rooms are dated and could definitely use a refresh. On the morning of my checkout, housekeeping knocked on my door at 9:00 a.m., which woke me up well before I was ready to get up. I was also surprised and disappointed to see artwork featuring the Confederate flag displayed in the lobby. During a weekend when so many Black guests were visiting to celebrate Essence Fest, I found it to be insensitive and triggering. Hotels should strive to create a welcoming environment for all guests, and this display did not reflect that. While the location is a major advantage, my overall experience did not meet my expectations. Unfortunately, I won't be staying here again.

Pros:

The location was close to everything, the hotel itself was very nice. The staff was great, especially Troy who served us at one of the bars on the lower level. The food was good, as well. Great areas to take pictures as well.

Cons:

The AC in my room was not working so it was very uncomfortable. No matter what temperature I put the thermostat, it didn't change the room temp. The hallways were super cold but the room was uncomfortably hot. I couldn't sleep so we left early.

Most beautiful hotel in New Orleans!
Pros:

We stayed at the Omni hotel in New Orleans and it was the best experience we have ever had. Julie Yates made our stay memorable as she made it super special for our son’s graduation trip.
The hotel was located in a beautiful location in the French quarter and it is the most beautiful and luxurious hotel we have ever stayed at. The rooms were very clean and not noisy as we stayed in the French quarter. You feel like royalty as you are also treated warmly and kindly by all the hotel staff. The roof pool deck is out of a storybook, the “hall of mirrors” with beautiful chandeliers by the ballrooms was beyond words. Beautiful is all I can say!! BEST EXPERIENCE!
