We absolutely loved our stay at Market Street Hotel. We spent two nights here at the beginning of our trip to Scotland, and it was the perfect place to start. Every member of the staff was genuinely warm and welcoming, and their hospitality set the tone for our entire visit. The rooms were spectacular. They strike that perfect balance of feeling modern, luxurious, and just the right amount of bougie chic without being over the top. The location is hard to beat. It's literally across the street from Waverley Station, which made arriving and departing incredibly easy, and it's only about a two minute walk to the Royal Mile with endless restaurants, pubs, and attractions. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would return without hesitation. If we're back in Edinburgh, this is where we'll stay.
A lovely modern hotel in Edinburgh within walking distance of many sites and restaurants. Very quiet location even though it’s in the heart of the city.
Breakfast was excellent and plentiful. Staff was fabulous at check in and breakfast. Highly recommend
I absolutely loved my stay at Market Street Hotel..they made my 40th birthday trip special with some lovely cookies and birthday card in my room. In my opinion this is the best location right next to Waverley Station, central to all transit options and perfect to reach all of the city has to offer. Staff is so lovely…I had breakfast included which was such a great selection of items to choose from. The room category cozy was plenty of space and had some unique touches. Overall I highly recommend this hotel! Who doesn’t love a champagne offered at welcome and every day for breakfast!
Excellent location, perfectly situated between the Old Town and New Town, making all of Edinburgh’s major attractions easily walkable. We especially appreciated how quiet the room was, and the sliding wooden shade provided complete blackout conditions, helping us recover from jet lag after just one night. While the room (Artist’s Vista) was on the smaller side, it was thoughtfully appointed, and we enjoyed the complimentary minibar. Overall, it was an excellent stay.
Lovely hotel in an excellent location across the road from the station. Walking distance to The Royal Mile as well as the tram to Yacht Britannia. THe room was clean and well appointed and the staff in all areas of the hotel were friendly and heplful. Both breakfast and dinner were delicious.
Lovely hotel with a great breakfast and a wonderful location. The breakfast room becomes a rooftop champagne bar with small plates at night. It features beautiful views, a stocked refrigerator in the room and you are welcomed with a glass of champagne. Good value for the service and location.
We have been travelling for 5 weeks now through Scandinavia and the UK. Market Street Hotel is hands down the best hotel we have stayed in on our trip. It was also the most expensive, but I understand why. Check in was efficient and friendly, we appreciated being able to access our room early after a morning of travelling. The level of finishes in our room was excellent, it really feels as though the layout of the room and the guests experience has been thoughtfully considered in the design process. I cannot speak highly enough of the staff either, they were at every interaction friendly and engaging. If I am ever lucky enough to find myself in Edinburgh I will happily stay here again.
This was an excellent hotel experience. The location is ideal and the room was comfortable, well-decorated and clean. We loved the view from our second storey window, the free minibar and snacks, and the ease of access to everything we wanted to visit. Highly recommended.
Market Street Hotel in Edinburgh Scotland was the perfect place to stay. A newer hotel in a quiet area with elevator, air conditioning, and stairs. Nice rooftop restaurant. The smiling hotel staff were wonderful, friendly and went out of their way to provide any help necessary. (Loaner umbrellas, slippers, free mini-bar and fantastic room cleanliness were additional pluses.) About 1 1/2 blocks from the middle of the Royal Mile (makes it easier going up/down the mile to the castle, palace and other historic locations), across the street from the Waverly train station pedestrian entrance & around the corner from the tram and public bus stop for getting around town, as well as the A100 Airport bus. No rental car needed. We plan to stay there again on our next trip.
Wonderful stay at Market street! Friendly staff and amazing location in modern boutique hotel! Free mini bar and comfy slippers in the room! Wonderful breakfast included too!
A lovely hotel just steps from the train station (so you don't have to schlep your bags up the 75 steps of Fleschman's Close!). Well-appointed, quiet and modern rooms, exceptional service and lots of unexpected and amazing perks. If you're in Edinburgh, you'll want to stay here!
We stayed for one night at this property upon our arrival by train from London before heading out on a tour to Speyside. It is located just a few steps from the train station. We were greeted warmly upon check-in. Our room, although compact, was very well appointed. They have truly mastered the art of maximizing space. The room had all of the lovely touches you might expect from a 5 star property. The bed was extremely comfortable. The rooms do have a very hip vibe. We were quite pleased. We did enjoy drinks and dinner at the bar/restaurant Nor'Loft on the 7th floor. The drinks and food were excellent. And possibly made the best espresso martini we have ever had! We would highly recommend this property. Thank you for a lovely stay.
Our room was spacious and comfortable with everything we need. The free mini bar was generously stocked. The street the hotel is on is not glamorous or anything, but it's super convenient. The train station is pretty much across the street, and our rental car company is located inside, so it was easy for us to get a car for our road trip. My only complaint is that the soap dispensers were a bit faulty, making it nearly impossible to get shampoo or conditioner.
We had a lovely time at Market Street Hotel. The rooms were beautifully decorated and quite spacious with very modern amenities. A delicious breakfast was provided with hot items included and optional champagne. The free minibar was always well stocked. The common areas and individual rooms were spotless and well-maintained. The location of the hotel could not be better. We were close to the train station and the Royal Mile. It was an easy walk everywhere. All staff were extremely professional and helpful. Would definitely recommend.
Very convenient location , very clean and free mini bar which is filled up every morning.
Fabulous modern hotel with everything you need and more in the room (Dyson hair drier, straighteners, coffee machine, milk frother and complimentary mini bar to name a few!). Room was very clean and comfortable and the shower was amazing. For breakfast there was everything you could possibly want including a complimentary glass of champagne! The staff were all friendly and helpful. Can’t fault a single thing and will definitely be back!
I would really give it 3.6 if I could. The good: its location is perfection! Close to the train and right around the corner from the mile. Free mini bar, snacks in room, and champagne at check in. The not so good: kinda smelly, but like the Edinburgh kind of smells damp a lot but this was not great. I had spray from the previous hotel, thank goodness. Rooms are pretty small and the beds are good but not great. The big thing is, the price. It’s pretty pricey to only kind of like it. So hence the 3.6.
Perfect location, comfortable rooms and the staff were very welcoming and accommodating.
Really well thought out and stylish hotel. Lots of surprise and delight touches. Rooms immaculate and well thought out. Free mini bar was a nice touch.
We arrived by airline from the airport and it was an easy walk to the hotel for them to hold our bags. The location is excellent allowing us to walk to all the areas we wanted to see. Our room was on the fifth floor and was so peacefully quiet. Loved the sliding door to block out the 4:30 am sunlight! The bed was comfortable, rain head shower luxurious and your own private bar and Scottish chocolates just puts this over the top. We enjoyed breakfast each morning with lots of selections on the menu.
