The Townhouse Hotel does not have a elevator, so the higher floors are accessible by stairs only (2 flights to the first floor and 2 flights to the second floor).

Great location in the heart of Sutton Coldfield. Nice room with character and on the other side of the building from the pub so the music didn't bother us. A little traffic noise but that was to be expected.
All the staff were very friendly and helpful, even the cleaners said a friendly good morning and had a chat. You have a super team there. The place has also had a fresh coat of paint since we last stayed and looks nice. Very clean throughout and nice to be able to get a drink and sit in the pub garden in the hot weather.
My partner had a cooked breakfast and said it was one of the best he has had in a while and value for money, so top marks to the chef. We will return in the future.
Unfortunately the bed wasn't very comfy. It had a wooden box type surround that was slightly away from the wall and as the headboard was mounted on the wall the pillows kept falling through the gap ! The mattress was also quite lumpy and you could feel the springs. It wouldn't stop me from staying again but even a memory foam topper would be an improvement !
The shower screen also leaked but we reported that at reception.

There was a lot of night-time noise from their late night music license and particularly from people leaving the premises.

The room above me was very noisy & I didn’t get much sleep - broken wash hand basin in my bedroom 🙈

Do not stay on a Friday or Saturday night - we were forced to move hotels at 1am before a flight as the music and noise was so loud and going to continue until 2.30am. Nobody wants to pay to sleep above what is a club with DJs and live bands

It was a bank holiday weekend so quite loud from the pub downstairs. This is nobody’s fault but the windows were thin so the noise echoed up a bit

Was not aware that bands/music was played until 2am. Although it was in the order confirmation, I did not see this and was not made aware prior to making the booking. This is the fault of both the booking.com and the hotel.
