Great family friendly hotel in Cork
Pros:

Just finished a five night stay and was very impressed with the Clayton Springs. We stayed in a massive family suite with everything you could need and everything spotless and well presented. The hotel was in a perfect location close to major roads. My lasting impression of the hotel is how friendly the staff are, as they were all superb - with a special mention for Ronan at breakfast time who was obviously highly experienced in his trade and so helpful and friendly to my family. Would highly recommend if you're thinking about a stay in Cork.

Pros:

Heat in the room was stifling- impossible to sleep due to lack of air. Very poor sleep over the three days😢

Not as enjoyable as we hoped for.
Pros:

Cons:

On Monday evening we went to the Restaurant and we were met by Donna who was quite flippant. I mistakenly said we just wanted drinks and she pointed to the bar, where there was four high stools, and said you will have to sit over there, I am 68 and my husband is 75.
My husband said that he wanted something to eat and she walked away leaving us to find a table for ourselves.
My husband got his meal which had salad without any dressing he tried to attract attention to no avail so he asked a young lad behind the bar for Olive Oil. This never appeared and when my husband mentioned it to this young man he said we don’t have any! No olive oil in a hotel, bizzare.

Disappointing.
Pros:

Location was good for the city and quiet.

Cons:

Breakfast was fine, pretty basic, not alot of choice and the standard of the food was basic. The room was worn and unimpressive, with chips and knocks cleary visible on furniture, walls, doors, bathtub etc. The bathroom door was very poor and would not close, not very ideal when travelling with your wife and daughter, it was badly damaged and the door frame in a very bad state. The room also did not have any a/c and during a heatwave the room was almost unbearable. A small fan was in the room, but the fan itself was old and weak. Little sleep was had as a result. For a 4* hotel, we expected to have better quality/standards. It is not a big ask for the rooms to be kept clean, furniture to be cared for or something as simple as a door to work for privacy when in a bathroom!

Expensive, disappointing and underwhelming

Cons:

The rooms have no air conditioning and a basic fan was left in the room. The heat in the room overnight was unbearable and extremely uncomfortable. I had made two small requests prior to arriving, which were confirmed by the reservations team, neither of which were fulfilled which I was not best pleased about. I have stayed here on many occasions, for work and personal purposes, and will likely return in the future. However, the extortionate cost of the room paid for one night, the simple requests which were not fulfilled as promised and how uncomfortable the rooms were due to the heat was an extreme disappointment.

Pros:

Nothing, everything was overshadowed by the hot, stinking room.

Cons:

Fan didn't work, was provided a tower fan replacement which was worse. Windows open bring the bugs in. Hot and stuffy. No help.

Best staff ever seen but not the property
