My first time in San Antonio I really enjoyed my stay I will love to come back and visit it was so much to fun and things to do
An absolute disaster from start to finish. Avoid this property.
We had to switch rooms three times. The first room did not contain the pull-out bed we specifically booked. The second room’s pull-out mattress was covered in stains, bodily fluids, and pubic hair. The third room was somewhat cleaner but still had broken curtains and, like the previous rooms, no mattress protector on the pull-out bed. Management’s solution for the inconvenience was a $50 credit.
When we attempted to use that credit at the hotel restaurant, things became even stranger. After waiting more than 30 minutes for our food, our server, Ciersten, approached our table requesting payment before our meals had even arrived. My 13-year-old son and I had been quietly waiting the entire time. I explained that we would be happy to pay once we actually received the food. I’ve stayed at countless hotels and have never experienced anything like this.
The parking situation feels intentionally designed to push guests into valet service. Valet appears to occupy the majority of available parking spaces, making self-parking nearly impossible to find late at night. To make matters worse, the garage elevator went out of service on Friday evening, forcing self-parking guests to carry luggage up and down three flights of smoky parking garage stairs.
The final insult came when the automated parking gate malfunctioned and charged my credit card $101 for a single night of parking instead of the posted $47 overnight guest rate.
Paying premium Marriott prices should come with basic cleanliness, functional facilities, and competent service. Instead, we received filthy accommodations, multiple room changes, bizarre restaurant service, a broken garage elevator, and an overcharge for parking.
We are still checked into the hotel as I write this review. Management has an opportunity to address these issues and make things right. At this point, however, I cannot recommend this property to anyone.
Just nice
Construction
Melinda the server was fantastic,
Loved, LOVED, LOVED my stay at the San Antonio Marriott Rivercenter on the River Walk! Location is convenient with lovely accommodations. Service was friendly and responsive. I highly recommend!
We had a great experience at the hotel. But, what really pushed it above and beyond was Bobby's help on our last day. Our vehicle battery died in the parking garage and we were three hours from home. We are so grateful to Bobby for getting us started and on the road. And, he could not have been happier to do so. Thanks!
Needed a shoe shine… and as luck would have it, Rogelio had a stand in the lobby. Had a great shine, even better conversation, and well worth the money. He had everything to take care of my shoes and even brought another pair down from my room to have him do those too. Great guy, amazing service.
Fernando was great! Very attentive and accommodating.
Great service by Roffe. Great drinks
This a great hotel, very convenient location, all the amenities you need, whether for a business, convention, couples or family trip!
My staying at San Anthonio Marriott Rivercenter was very pleasant.
From check-in to check-out, it was seamless.
I was well recognized as Marriott Bonvoy elite member. Even when I arrived early in the morning, I was accommodated and was allocated a room on the M-Club Lounge floor.
The dining offering at the lounge was very good.
The location to the Convention Center was very close and great.
Despite being a large property, the atmosphere was serene and secure.
Though 9 days after check-out, I'm yet to be credited with my points and night stay, and the incidental charged to my card is yet to be returned to my account.
In summary, this is an impressive clean and noiseless facility with friendly staff.
Very appreciative for making our stay enjoyable.
We were in San Antonio for a conference and so were 20,000 other people and the hotel was FULL but every staff member we came in touch with treated us like we were the only people they were taking care of… the check in was quick, our bags were delivered quickly, we he house keeping (shout out to America who cleaned our room all week- she was so friendly and kept our room spotless!) the Starbucks staff was friendly and made GREAT lattes, every single person was so good at their job and so good with all of the people staying at the hotel.
The hotel itself has big rooms, comfortable beds, good showers and good WiFi throughout the hotel property. The views from our room 2506, were STUNNING and we loved watching the rain storm from our room.
The elevator system is fast and very secure… and the concierge level serves good breakfast and coffee and water and sodas and snacks all day long!
I highly recommend staying here… it was a fantastic experience.
The service at the hotel was top tier all the way around, from check-in and assistance at the front desk with Ashunta, service at the restaurant, service in the ballroom for breakfast and lunch during the Women's Convention, to the bell stand service and help in the FedEx office.
Damen, the man who helped me with my luggage was a outstanding representation of the Marriott.
Could use a designated smoking area
My experiences with Marriott are always incredible, but this one was especially special. Cheyanne was absolutely amazing. We were in town for a women’s convention with thousands of attendees and ended up checking in a little late. Because my mom is a Titanium member with Marriott, we were hoping for room options, but there wasn’t much availability left.
Cheyanne took the time to look through every possible option and was ultimately able to place us in an executive suite. I truly appreciate the effort she put in to help us. She was so kind, patient, and genuinely wanted to make sure we found the best option possible. Her customer service was exceptional, and she made our stay even better. Thank you, Cheyanne!
Great hotel. M Club was wonderful.
