Don't stay here, I won't again
Pros:

Conveniently located near the convention centre

Cons:

Lifts were out, with 73 steps to get into the hotel and to the room. Staff were brusque, and overheard gossiping about guests while I was sitting in the foyer. Room was downgraded based on their poor organisation.

Good, but would be better when the lifts are working again
Pros:

Great location for all the activities we had planned. We were given plenty of notice about the lifts being down and offered to take our bags up for us - we certainly got our steps in whilst staying. Room was quiet. Staff were very quick to process our request of changing rooms at 1.30am after we spotted a cockroach in our room.

Cons:

The cockroach in our room wasn't ideal. The room wasn't all that spacious, the bathroom was especially squishy. This goes for both rooms we ended up staying in. The pub next door was quite loud at times at night - the room being positioned right next to a one way street meant there were some noisy patrons leaving that we had to endure.

Pros:

Very centrally located, very fairly priced, easy access to the CBD and other local attractions. Well sized room and bathroom, comfortable for a short stay, which was the case for my short business trip.

Cons:

The rooms pictured are not at all representative of what was factually offered during my stay, which is misleading. Facilites and fitout are somewhat dated.

Pros:

Clean, comfortable , great buffet breakfast , location awesome

Cons:

Staff were inconsistent. Really lacked customer service. Especially the front counter staff were rather rude. Considering its first and final point of service. And its a hotel.. would expect friendly approachable in a good mood ?? Were not.
Buffet staff were exceptional ticked all these boxes perhaps swap them over.

Moved to the Grand Chancellor
Pros:

We were moved at last minute to the Grand Chancellor on Hindley St. We had a great stay, in a good location. Quiet and large room, and comfortable beds

Cons:

We had booked a twin queen room very specifically, and when we were moved to the other hotel, they were not given accurate information regarding our booking, so we ended up in a twin single room. The Grand Chancellor staff were very apologetic. It was really disappointing and I would not stay at the Grosvenor in the future, and go straight the the Grand Chancellor and book the room we wanted.

Lovely staff, I understand that it is an old building. Appreciated the notice about broken lift.

I thought the staff were just lovely and the building is quite charming. Thank you

Cons:

Sheer curtains at the window would allow more natural light into the room without losing all privacy. As the room faced the car park, people could look straight in! Also - the air conditioning controls were not obvious and, when found and used to turn the unit on - very noisy. I was disappointed in the breakfast offering. Fresh fruit rather than apples and sugar free muesli or porridge would be appropriate additions to assist.

Pros:

The Grosvenor were so kind and accommodating to us, when we needed extra beds, they gave us another room in a crisis. We are so grateful. It's always our place to stay when coming to the city. Clean comfy beds and in the best location!

Lovely room for the price. Brilliant location, but maybe wait until they have fixed the lifts.
Pros:

Comfortable and spacious room. I really liked the bed

Cons:

Hotel advised me the lift was out. They did slightly understate the inconvenience of this. It was nothing short a maze of tunnels, long hallways, grungy stair cases roping off old unused parts of the hotel and fire stairs to get from the lobby to my room on the 2nd floor. Nothing was offered in the way of compensation.
