Stayed there with the family, while the location is amazing and the breakfast and all day coffee gives you the energy to keep going, what we really enjoyed was the warm hospitality and services from the team, especially Courtney who was in touch with us prior to the arrival and made sure our stay was perfect. Recently stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Magnificent Mile for three nights in early March and had a mostly seamless experience. We booked through Expedia and check-in was smooth with no issues.

The room had one queen bed and was smaller than expected, but still manageable for a short stay. Our window faced N Wabash Ave near the Trader Joe’s, so there was some noticeable street noise at night. There was also an adjoining room door, which made sound insulation feel average at times.

The bathroom was clean, the shower was hot, but water pressure fluctuated slightly during our stay.

Like most Holiday Inn Express locations, the complimentary breakfast was a big plus. Options included eggs, sausage, pancakes, pastries, and coffee, making it a convenient way to start the day.

The hotel also had a door attendant present at times, and the surrounding area felt safe, even when walking at night.

Overall, a convenient and practical place to stay in the heart of downtown Chicago, especially if you’re looking for good value and easy access to the Magnificent Mile.

I have mixed feelings about this IHG hotel. The staff was very nice and recognized my IHG status. Location is nice. They could find a slightly bigger room when I asked for one. However, the hotel is so old and needs maintenance. Elevator is slow. Water pressure is weak so flushing was problematic. Toilet pipes leak (at least in the 2 rooms I ve been in). Walls look old with some discoloration in some areas. Food is ok (the usual). Fridge was not working (I realized that after I smelled something unpleasant and it was my food that went bad since they simply didnt plug in the fridge!). I expect more from IHG. I do not think I ll stay again at this place and I would not recommend so except if things change which I believe is an achievable goal.

Yes the rooms are small but they are big on charm. Plenty of room for 2, with a closet and desk. Had a street view room on 11 that was quiet, with little street noise, providing a great nights sleep. Shower had good pressure and plenty of hot water. The included breakfast buffet had many hot and cold offerings as well as fresh fruit. Plenty of seating in a variety of chair styles. The microwave in this area is available 24/7 for guest use. No micro/fridges here in rooms. The staff was very friendly and ready to assist. Received some bottled water & chips at check in as an IHG member. Fabulous pizza place/bar down the street - Pizzeria Due. Just 2 blocks to Michigan Ave. Overall, a great value!

As a IHG Diamond member I get to see a lot of different properties and when I’m in Chicago, this is my favorite for a lot of reasons. The front desk people are some of the most accommodating and welcoming in the business and the support staff is there 24 7 for any need. The lounge in the lobby is relaxing, tech savvy with outlets, charging ports TVs, high tables and low tables. Michael the GM is always available and you actually see him lol vs just seeing a biz card on a table.
