Had an english muffin that was quite bland. Free coffee was nice. Location was perfect for our plans. Bar area is very nice and relaxing.
See you are doing a renovation which is nice. But it did make it look and feel dirty. Paint and dust in the hallways. Room was quite clean
I always have a great time rooms - food - staff all excellent. Only negative was I wanted to golf but called the pro shop several times to set up golf but couldn’t get a hold of anyone . Other than that it’s always time well spent great place !
My partner and I come here often for anniversary's and "relaxation" dates. We love the spa and the amazing restaurant. The food and people are great!
Well, my stay could have been better. I'm going to start with the positives . The location is stunning, close to Pittsford and an easy drive to ROC. If the weather had been good, the views of surrounding property are impressive.
Hotel staff was friendly and helpful with questions about the property.
Unfortunately, my room 331 was located directly across from a utility closet that was used constantly by staff and the elevator. Since the house was booked up, both never stopped interfering with my sleep at night and catapulted me out of bed in the morning.
The room was just ok. Generally clean except for the lone couch next to the bed(the right armrest was soiled). Pretty spartan overall. The shower needs attention. Leaks from the main head and the wand in inoperable.
Also, I scanned the qr code for orientation but never located the hotel password to access the internet. Finally, the commode was right out of the 70's. So low I needed to hoist myself off of it 🙃. Please update them!
I don't understand the common area just off the hotel entrance. It is barren except for a couple of old chairs by the window and one day a few cocktail rounds. I thought that it may have been a Ballroom extension, but it is not. Not a good look.
At 9:00 on my way to meet family members on Friday morning for breakfast one of your maintenance employees was running a vacuum at the restaurant entrance, the moved on to the reservation desk during check out! What was he doing out there at that time? Should have been completed way before that hour.
Restaurant: 4 of us had dinner on Wednesday evening. The new menu was impressive, and the food was excellent. Salads were fresh and the entrees perfectly prepared. Our orders included: the roasted salmon (2), sword fish (1) ans and the tomahawk pork chop. All were done(not overdone) perfectly. The crazy expensive Cabernet was worth every sip.
I didn't mention the wedding celebration at the venue, because that's how special events bookings make their nut for the house!
That's it for now. Hope this helps!
As always the staff makes the visit most enjoyable, Justin, Kitty, Peter at the Starbucks bar, Andy and Christy.
Watching the upgrades, facelift going on is great to see.
The only disappointment for us was the personal safe is no longer available in the room, at least the one we were in this visit.

I chose this hotel solely for the reputation of the spa. Unfortunately I was unable to enjoy this feature. First off, check in was a mess, I was told at booking my total due at check in was 263 well, upon arrival a $75 fee was slapped on for able to use spa, room service and restaurant. Second spa was closed at check and you have a to book a spot, and the smallest package was in the hundreds and my $75 fee did not cover any of it, I at that point could not afford the spa bc of that fee. Third, restaurant cost $134, also none covered by $75 fee, fourth, we waited hours to receive our roof service request at least 2. At one point I had to walk down to request it again bc it had been close to 4 hours since calling down. I only chose this hotel to utilize the spa remember and was u able to enjoy it, wasted money and trip in my eyes.
It’s been many many many months for this elevator modernization to take place and it’s still not done. There was no hot water in the morning.
Wonderful service. Comfrotable clean rooms
Elevators down. I went to a different hotel earlier than expected
We had our sales conference in the tent. It was lovely. The servers were very courteous and responsive, the food was good as well. Very pleased. Some points to improve- regular coffee was always empty. Ran out of hamburgers so some people only got salad.
I stayed at Woodcliff Hotel & Spa for about two weeks, and it was one of the most uncomfortable and unsettling hotel experiences I’ve had.
I had to switch rooms three separate times due to serious cleanliness issues. The first room had visible blood on the comforter. The second room was worse — the mattress protector was heavily stained, and when I removed it, nearly half of the mattress itself was covered in a large urine stain. At that point, I had already unpacked a full car’s worth of belongings and had to pack everything up and move again.
The third room was smaller, poorly maintained, and still not clean. The carpets were filthy, surfaces were visibly dirty, and I even found a used tissue inside the pocket of a robe that was supposedly provided for guest use. I ended up laying sheets across the floor just to feel comfortable walking around. For reference, I was paying over $135 per night.
To make things worse, I was traveling with my cat and had to repeatedly move her and all of her belongings — litter box, food, tower — which caused unnecessary stress. I was also placed in a high-traffic area near the elevators and housekeeping, directly under a suite with hard flooring, despite specifically requesting a quiet room.
Basic functionality throughout the rooms was also lacking — outlets didn’t hold plugs, ventilation in the bathroom was poor, and overall upkeep felt neglected.
The front desk experience did not help. Daniel, in particular, was consistently cold, dismissive, and unprofessional whenever I approached him with concerns.
Elevators were unreliable throughout my stay. One was down when I arrived, and by checkout, I had to haul everything down from the fifth floor using a service elevator in the back.
After all of this, the only resolution offered was a one-night discount, which didn’t come close to addressing the level of inconvenience and discomfort.
This property is marketed as a resort and spa, but the condition of the rooms and overall experience did not reflect that at all. I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere.
Such a wonderful stay! We went to the spa, and it was so relaxing! Would highly recommend and we can't wait to return!
My experience was terrible. The walls are paper thin. The room next to me had a party at 2am. I had to call the front desk 3 times. I was on hold for large periods of time before anyone answered. I didn’t get to sleep until after 4. That the word ‘serenity’ is used on the web site is hysterical. We’ll never return.
Had a nice stay with a very warm inviting atmosphere.
Once a gem, this property is now in dire need of updating and repair. Elevators were down causing a 10 flight climb up to 5 th floor! Deal breaker! Power went out while using blow dryer, leaving lights and tv useless.Food for brunch was tasty but very overpriced. Hopefully they can get this place ip to snuff as it really can be a nice getaway
It is always a pleasure to stay at your property and enjoy the excellent location and services. The room ws clean and well appointed, and I appreciated the quiet environment. Love the bar and restaurant, plus th highly attentive and professional staff. Will return again.
Very kind and sweet ! Very beautiful and clean room will come back again
Let me start with the highlights: The beds were comfortable and clean. The restaurant was excellent and great service. While I didn't go to the actual spa, there is nothing spa-like in the rooms, if you were expecting that from the name. The amenities are very basic. Also, in our case, running the cold water in the bathroom sink made a noise from the wall that sounded like a float plane taking off! Normally I wouldn't write a review, but I admit to being very frustrated to the pool being unusable as we were there with a group of boys and that was going to be a big activity. As well, the gym is in need of a complete makeover. The fact that the elevator was not functioning properly the weekend we were there, only highlighted the need for growth and repair! But as I said - the rooms were clean.
Bad customer service. Birthday celebration. We had reservations for 5:30 in a town a short drive away. Called during the week to see if we could get an early check in. Was told to call the day of, but still couldn't confirm an early check in. Arrived at 3:30.. room not ready and even with at checking time at 4:00.. room still not ready. One person behind the desk with 10 people waiting.. decided to cancel completely because I needed to change clothes and get ready for dinner. Stopped at my sisters house to get changed.
We stayed many times before but this was so disappointing that we won't be back.
