OK, here goes. The property needs to be updated. The walkway from the parking lot to the entrance front door the pavers by the fountain have several that are broken and create a tripping hazard. Our room had a musty smell. The air-conditioning filters were dirty, and I had to clean them before I turned the unit on. The shower doors were off the track that was my second project that I had to complete. The shower stall around the pan was moldy definitely a health issue. I was surprised that the maid Service left all of the dirty linens in the hallway that stayed there for most of the afternoon along with room service dishes that were also left for quite some time
Unsure how this hotel holds a 4 star status, as we've had stayed at 2 start hotels with rooms in better condition. This may have been 4 star hotel 20 years ago, but it has degraded and the rooms are showing their age. We only stayed 1 night, but noticed numerous areas of water damage around the windows and walls, cracked/broken tile in the bathroom, cracked shower enclosure, carpet old and piling through hallways, and broken ceiling tiles throughout the building in general. Late at night while walking out of our room we had to hold our breath as it was certain someone was smoking in one of the rooms and the hall was filled with the smell.
Now I have to call and dispute charges because the 3 charges from the hotel is adding up to higher amount than the final invoice when we checked out. We will not be returning to this hotel for stay, but perhaps for dinner as the restaurant was excellent. We did not get a chance to visit the spa for review.
My husband book a room to celebrate my birthday and he also booked a couple's massage. The hotel was busy so we were only able to secure a room with 2 queen beds. We checked in early but did not spend much time in the room because our massages were in the late afternoon. When they were done we wanted to get dinner and go shopping. We found out that the hot tub was closed at the hotel so we had a late dinner off-site and made it back to the room around 8:30 pm. My husband went to get into the bed and stepped in a very wet spot on the carpet that was either vomit or urine. The front desk did not handle it very well and we decided not to stay. It ruined the whole trip for us. The manager did speak to my husband two days later but inevitably, the experience was disappointing overall.
Good staff, good breakfast, but a really dumpy room - and we upgraded to a Executive Cliffside King, too. While clean, everything looked 1980s old, the ceiling was stained, the wallpaper torn, the furniture nicked, and the A/C was super loud. They charged us a resort fee even though the pool was closed and there was nothing to do.
Wonderful stay, in town visiting family.
Bartenders, servers in Horizons Restaurant were great. Food was excellent.
Deluxe King room was nice, but could use a small side/cocktail table by sofa.
Will definitely be back on our next trip!
Stay was ok we were little disappointed that they didn’t had a restaurant and it was hard to find somthing to dine in the area we had to drive about 1 our to find a place to eat with the family room was clean but the bathroom need it to be more cleaner around the shower there was yellow stains and mold it was little pricy for one night stay
The staff was excellent, the room was clean. There were some changes to amenities which were unacceptable in my opinion. There are no coffee makers in the rooms and there was none available in the lobby. You couldn't even get one from the restaurant in the afternoon. I had to purchase tea in the evening from room service and pay gratuities 20%.
There wasn't a glass or a plastic cup in the room.
Housekeeping made the bed and emptied garbage but did not remove wet towels.
These penny pinching changes made a definite impact on my rating.
Recent changes reflect a downward trend in quality, trading basic guest hospitality for bare-minimum service."
Immediately upon entering the lobby I was greeted by Shawnii who is absolutely fantastic. She was so accommodating and friendly/kind. I was very happy with the customer service.
To boot, the facilities are clean/comfortable and inviting. My wife and I were celebrating our 17th wedding anniversary and couldn't be more happy with our stay. Thank you so much!
I have stayed here in previous years and had a wonderful experience. But...I arrived late in the evening, and the room that I was given had a very bad odor--resembling urine. I was so tired that I did not want to change rooms at 11 pm. So I sprayed my own antiperspirant and buried myself in the sheets for the night.
I did give feedback at the desk and there was no apology and no response after the disclosure of the problem. I will not be back.
I always enjoy my stays at Woodcliff Hotel and Spa, but this time something stood out especially. The soup special, was a cod chowder, at Horizons Friday night was outstanding. Not only were the flavor and texture excellent, but the presentation was beautiful as well. I have been making soups for many years, and I will remember this one.
We arrived and the first roomed smelled so badly we had to request a room change. The second room was DISGUSTING and had a horrible smell of mildew. There was mold in the show on the ceiling and hair and dirt in the corners of the bathroom. I have stayed at your hotel 10 years ago and had a wonderful experience. I can not say the same this time around.
Hotel seems a bit outdated. The Bar/Restaurant was great..Exceptional Bar staff that has a ton of experience..No Pool ( indoor or out ) was open...Probably would come back for bar/restaurant, do not know if I would stay again
We booked a room and a couples massage. My masseuse, Christine, was incredible. Seriously one of the best massages I've had in a long time. My partner didn't have the best experience unfortunately. The food was good, the rooms were outdated but my spa experience saved the day. I had a headache for weeks that Christine got rid of in a matter of one session. Thank you!!
The property is good at a good location. I’ve stayed in there plenty times unfortunately it was the worst time I ever stayed at this place with no notice ahead of time that the swimming pool was gonna be close.
Notifications was terrible
We were so excited to stay at the Woodcliff. We spent alot of money to stay overnight for a sub par experience. While the staff are great, the hotel is not. The hotel is in poor condition with the exception of the bar, which is beautifu but expensive. Almost $30 for 2 drinks with tip. Bartender was nice. We did not experience the hot tub and indoor pool as the area was dirty. The hallways leading up to the room are musty, which is also in the room. The shower door would not stay shut and the interior of the rooms are old and are in desperate need of an upgrade. Reading reviews of the hotel after, many had the same experience for the past year and nothing has been done. I have no expectations of any improvement. We will not be back.
Great facility, great food, and evening entertainment!
Facilities in disrepair. Only one elevator worked, pool down for maintenence. My toilet wouldn’t flush and they failed to come work on it during my 2 day stay. I did complain the last night for 3rd time and they gave me keys to a room across the hall that we slept in. They also credited back my resort charge to make up for it. Last complaint is the room had a bad animal smell to it. I get that they allow pets, but prefer they segregate the rooms and let you know what you’re getting.
Overall, I really like the pool spa and restaurant so I’ll give them one more try and hope for better luck.
The room was fine. The bathroom was ... "disgusting" (grimey).
