Even high up we could hear the loud street music and people
WiFi is so poor

It was so damn noisy 😒
Central and great rooms
Easy check in and helpful staff. Valet carparking, although expensive, made our one night stay very easy. The chocolate happy hour up on the 13th floor when we arrived was a nice touch. Great location for our event at Spark Arena that night.
The big fat solid pillows. They were all that size, with no choice for softer flatter ones. I had a very sore neck in the morning.
We took the train from the airport to the hotel. It was fast and easy. The hotel is a short walk from the train station. We arrived at 8 am and decided to store our luggage & explore Auckland rather than pay 120 nzd for an early check in. We were directed to a stairway one floor above the front desk where we could change clothing. It was a washroom with no countertop. Later in our stay, on the 5th floor, we found a PRIVATE room with a toilet and separate shower. We would have preferred to change there.
Our luggage was in our room when we returned in the evening. We finally showered after our long flight. It felt luxurious with robes & slippers included. It was nice to have a bar area with a kettle, pod coffee maker, different coffees & assorted teas included. The fridge was loaded with drinks for extra $. The hotel room design is ingenious, having a built in couch topped with cushions by the window. We drank coffee gazing out the window, sometimes reading, writing or texting. The desk also served as a table. There were many electrical charging stations, room darkening curtains, & all the things you may need like shower cap, cotton/pad/swab, shoe cloth etc. We loved the spa liquid soap & hair products too. We had no allergy issues because the air quality was excellent.
Each day at 2 - 3 pm there is a chocolate buffet in the top floor restaurant with city & harbour views. We enjoyed the fine chocolates, and kids ice cream. There are numerous venues, stores, restaurants, indoor mall, harbour, cruise port, grocery, and a free art gallery within easy walking distance. Because we had lunch and dinner when we explored Auckland, we did not get the chance to dine at Movenpick's restaurant on the top floor.
The weather changed from sunny 20 C plus to a cyclone that delayed our departure, so we extended our stay from 3 to 4 nights. We felt secure knowing our hotel had everything we needed. The storm wasn't so bad after all.
After our long flights from Canada we were directed to the stairway 2nd floor change room where we could change into warm weather clothing. It was not a change room but an elegant washroom with pedestal sinks but no counter top, hooks to put clothing or enough room to change with other guests using it too. Because there was no place to change our clothes we changed on the nearby bench. Access to the 5th floor "change room" (which we discovered later in our stay) would have made our rating "exceptional". It had a private entrance, with a room for the shower and a separate room for the toilet. It was located around the corner from the gym/fitness centre.
A hard copy hotel information sheet in our room or upon arrival at the front desk would have been helpful because we did not have a smart phone to use the QR code. We returned to the front desk for assistance with the WiFi setup on our laptop. When we asked, we were also given a city map, where we were shown places to eat and locations of places we wanted to visit.
Great breakfast, comfortable beds, kids loved the chocolate hour. Great location for what we needed it for.
The room was a bit dusty in places like window sill and lamps.
