Very disappointing experience. After a long drive from Wellington, we arrived to find there were no available car parks, and the hotel doesn’t allow guests to reserve parking in advance. The staff were also abrupt and unwelcoming, making us feel like an inconvenience.
When we got to our room, it was clear it hadn’t been properly cleaned. The rubbish bin hadn’t been emptied, used tea had been left behind, and, worst of all, the toilet contained someone else’s unflushed waste. Absolutely disgusting and completely unacceptable.
To make matters worse, when I tried calling reception from our room to report the issue, I couldn’t get through and had to walk back down to reception myself, which was a real inconvenience after such a long journey.
Overall, this stay fell well below expectations in terms of cleanliness, customer service, and basic guest experience.
The view from the breakfast buffet is stunning, staff are very helpful and attentive.
Great location, buffet was lovely
Very very noisy! The fan in the bathroom wouldn’t turn off and the outside traffic all night! Had 2 terrible sleeps there. Also parking was not ok, got back the second night and there was no parks left and had to go find a carpark way down the road in the dark.
Location is great, right by Britomart and lovely places to dine.
This would be the possible third time, parking is expensive!
The staff, breakfast spread and views from the restaurant.
We had booked harbor side facing, however the room wasnt ready on day 1 and day 2.
The staff did their best to offer us free dinner for 1 night and allowing us to use 1 room for couple of hours to freshen up.
Nice rooms. Large and modern. Great restaurant.
Poor WiFi.
Noisy - can hear other rooms opening and closing at night.
Gym is tiny.
The bar downstairs is really loud on Thursday and Friday evenings. The noise lasts till 3 or 4 a.m., and I can only get to sleep after 3 o’clock in the morning.
Easy check in , location. Availability of food at random hours
Nothing at the top of my head
Location was perfect for us, short walking distance to everywhere we wanted to go, commercial bay, spark arena. Loved having daily bread and a four square stairs. Staff were very kind and welcoming.
Yummy breakfast, chocolate hour was delicious.
I actually fell asleep, which means the bed was comfortable. Valet parking was quick and easy. We will be staying again for sure.
There was quite a bit of street noise up until 2.30am. I was woken up several time during the night as a result, but I kept falling back asleep quickly, which was thanks to the comfy bed and being quite tired from the day.
Good location. Helpful staff. Beautiful top floor restaurant.
Room near elevator was noisy. Got woken up by room service at 0645 as someone had asked for something and given the wrong room number.
I had more expectation interms of a 5-star hotel, based on my experiences in some other countries.
Room facilities, chocolate hour options, etc
Location is great, easy to get to the viaduct and great shopping nearby. The staff are lovely
The lighting in the rooms are not great, the door to our bathroom was a bit broken, kept jamming up
