Great location but a little tired
Pros:

The hotel is in a great location within easy reach both of the harbour and of fisherman’s wharf . The hotel itself is a little tired / dated and whilst staff were friendly , the breakfast itself was the poorest quality we’ve had on this trip with stale croissants that really should have been warmed through to make them edible. This hotel is perfect for a short overnighter in Victoria due to location but I wouldn’t recommend for a long stay

Charming hotel with a perfect location
Pros:

Nice location and charming old building.
The room had a Nespresso machine and capsules were als provided (better coffee than in the restaurant)

Cons:

Rooms and hallways are a bit outdated.
In front of the hotel in the harbour is a huge building project going on and therefore there is no harbour view.

Outstanding Vacation!
Pros:

My husband and I took a couples trip, ferrying from Seattle, Washington to Victoria Island. From the moment we arrived, the front desk clerk impressed us with his professionalism, eloquence, and polished appearance.

We booked a loft room, and it exceeded our expectations. The space was immaculate and included a well-equipped kitchenette with utensils, dishware, and cookware. The bathroom was stocked with plenty of towels and full-size bottles of body wash, shampoo, and conditioner, and the mirror even featured built-in lighting and a defogging function. The room offered both heating and air conditioning, and the loft stairs had automatic lighting for added safety. The television worked perfectly, though it wasn’t a smart TV.

Breakfast was a standout experience: a host greets you, seats you, and clears your table when you’re finished. The buffet itself was delicious and refreshingly not overly sweet, unlike many traditional American hotel breakfasts.

Pros:

The breakfast was okay. It had a lot of options. I also liked being able to charge our car.

Cons:

We got what was possibly the worst room they had, even though I booked it many months ago. We paid handsomely for our tiny pup per night, but nothing was provided for her.
They let us eat breakfast on the patio with our pup, but we had to constantly open the heavy door to get there by ourselves, the staff came and lifted the stopper, closing the door. It's really hard to open that door trying to carry plates and glasses at the same time. The third day, when they seated other people outside, the door was propped wide open. It made us feel like lesser people, just because we had a pup with us - she was always in her kennel, sleeping, you wouldn't even know she existed. There was garbage all over outside around the tables, the same garbage for all three days. A lot of staff came by that garbage so many times. I'm annoyed it only occurred to me to take the pic after we had picked up what was right in front of us, annoyingly. We also cleared and cleaned the table after ourselves, trying to make their job easier. It makes me laugh now. It wasn’t any cleaner inside, BTW: there were scrambled eggs trailed all over the steps and carpet that no one picked up for the whole duration – it bothered me to see it, during my many trips for tea, food, or water, it made me want to throw up.
On our first morning, just as we sat down for breakfast, the "gardener" decided to water the pots with a long, big hose, and started right next to us. He was on the phone as well as with his workstation radio on loud, not to mention hitting my feet with the hose. He took forever to leave, he left when we got up, abandoning the so many other pots away from the tables: suddenly watering them was no longer an emergency.
The room was so dark that we called it the dungeon. I forgot one of my unique chargers because it was on the corner of the table when we left and I couldn't even see it.

Worst hotel I ever stayed
Pros:

I booked two rooms one for myself and one for my kids and I was extremely disappointed with this hotel! The air conditioning was so loud, the noise from the hallway was awful and I can hear people taking showers the next room, definitely not worth my money! It cost me close to $1,800 for two nights and parking is extra. With this amount one should get a decent sleep!

A stay at the Pendray is a treat.
Pros:

The ambience is the thing--Victorian, calm, four-poster beds, bathrubs, and tea, tea, tea.

Cons:

I think two hard-boiled eggs for breakfast is a bit much. Otherwise, the breakfast choices are great.
