On a positive note, the free tourist bus stops right in front of the hotel and takes you downtown with a few stops in between. So, even though the Hampton is on the eastern edge of town, it is less than a half hour bus ride to downtown TC. When we stayed here a few years ago, it was being remodeled so we figured it would be like the newer Hamptons. NOT. The room was tiny. There was only one desk chair in the room even though we stated that we were two people. The manager brought another chair up but there wasn't much room to put it. No freezer in the refrigerator. The bathroom was also tiny; just a bathtub with a curtain with a small trickle of water, a toilet and a sink. No counter, no walk-in shower, toilet paper behind the toilet, unreachable. No oranges at breakfast both days which had typically been one of the good things about a Hampton breakfast. Only one in-room coffee for two days, we had to ask to get coffee the second day.

Very clean and convenient right across from the bay. Staff was very helpful and kind. The hotels on the bayside are gorgeous also but if you just need a night at a cheaper rate this is perfect.

I would normally have rates this place much higher( I've stayed there before) but they had a power outage and we couldn't sleep well( very hot). No hot shower or many light or airconsitioning until middle of nite 2.. would think we'd get some kind of credit .

Bed was too high& hard to get in for short people. Needs one more chair in room.
Breakfast was very good. Staff was friendly and helpful. Nice view to the bay across the street when arriving or leaving the complex even though we couldn't see the bay from our room location.
Overall hotel appeared to be clean outside of our actual room.
Room was not cleaned well: dirty bath mirror, dental floss pick laying on the floor, crumbs on the carpet, toilet lid wouldn't stay up for male usage, double barn doors to the bath had a large "V" gap eliminating privacy and letting light flood the room if using the bath in the middle of the night. Would have preferred a fan run mode for the AC to create "white noise" when AC wasn't running to drown out slamming doors and other noisy guests as is typical in hotel stays. Lighting was very inefficient in the room except for the bathroom which was very ample.
The breakfast was satisfactory for a quick exit. The room provided was clean and provided all the essentials.
The Wifi was not easy to access for some reason and there were no instructions to be found. The shower appeared to be “older” but it was clean.
The building, the rooms, the amenities, the breakfast was delicious.
All the trash and litter in the back area and the sides of the parking lot.
When we walked into lobby, we saw the breakfast area and right then knew we were going to love our stay.
