The grounds were beautiful and the location was perfect.
I would have liked to be in the main building and the vending machines did not work.
Horrible experience - left did not stay - Booking.com should be ashamed of yourself - what a bait and switch of room being dated and in another bldg with no elevator - Im a 64 year old woman expected to carry my luggage up 20 steps- room satined carpet smelled like pee - bathroom moldy - spider in the tub bathroom so dated I would not of felt clean - disgusting - I have written reviews to warn others - sick - liked absolutely nothing - staff rude - I took several pictures to upload into my review discussing - my video willl tell the true story
It was beautiful and the staff was excellent
Absolutely nothing
While the hotel over all is very nice and clean the rooms leave a lot to be desired. Most of the rooms are very dark and those rooms are not the rooms in the photo gallery that Hilton shows. The decor is a bit dated as well. But staff is always very nice. Location is perfect for my business travel.
Bfast was a very nice dining experience with solid buffet offerings. Plus to have coffee to go afterwards.
Can’t think of anything
Great location, very clean, good value, restaurants on the property were excellent, bed was very comfortable
Rooms could use a little updating, bigger & more comfortable towels needed for bathroom
Breakfast was excellent. My husband did the buffet and I ordered off the menu. Food was plentiful and delicious. The decor was pleasant and calming. The staff was friendly and attentive. We would eat there again.
The hotel has been there a long time. Some of the decor was dated.
I came for a needlepoint retreat and this was the recommended hotel. I found the staff to be courteous, helpful and attentive. The shuttle service was an added bonus.
I stayed in a room in the 2000 section, upstairs and on the right side of the lobby. The room was quite stuffy and it took a long time for the air to cool the room. The AC presents as an after thought: something plugged in, extension cords, wood bracing on the wall, etc.
The room was small; I can’t remember if I booked a deluxe~there was a king. The bathroom was tiny. We tolerated without complaint; I did ask for the shower curtain to be replaced.
I called the front desk to ask for a fan; they did not have any. The AC did finally cool the room; but if it had t, we would have switched rooms.
In the end, the hotel rooms are tired and worn. It’s a beautiful place~it just needs new money.
Now that I think about it, the entire upstairs seemed like the AC wasn’t working. It was very humid.
My family of four stayed here for 3 nights recently. Wife, and kids 16 and 14. We were taking a short getaway in the St Louis area and picked this hotel. Definitely an older hotel with a design that is classic but not modern. Easy to find off I64, though right hand turn only into the hotel cannot do a left out of the parking lot. Pool area was a standout on a hot weekend, nice pool with 9 ft depth and plenty of chairs with poolside food service. We had a 2 qn room on the 3rd floor, main building. Checked into room and since I am Hilton Diamond we had a charcuterie tray and bottle of wine waiting for us. I've stayed at nicer hotels that did not do this....nice touch. Room was decent with comfortable beds but some items like door stoppers, wall outlets, bath door, etc were showing wear and tear. On our 3rd night, our A/C stopped working well on a really hot night. A call to the front desk brought the maintenance guy right upstairs with a pedestal fan to get us by for the night, which it did just fine.
Overall this place is unique, a classic older hotel that, if renovated well, could become REALLY cool place to stay.
Have stayed here twenty times in last decades; normally book Junior Suite, but got upgraded to Parlor Suite, in Clayton Building since I am Lifetime Diamond. There enlies some of the problem-no one cleans the building entry area-litered with trash, cig butts etc. Have complained last two times and it took days to get results. As we want to bring F and F to room., we expect entry to be clean. Communications with front desk don't work well as I had to complain about this problem and also pest infestation, which was never fixed over four days.
I like this Hotel because of location and it's restaurants, but facility is getting tired and problems like mentioned will send us away to the competition.
Location is great. There’s lots to do near by in Kirkwood.
I would hesitate to book a room here since they host weddings at this hotel. We are near the ballrooms and there is a wedding going until 11:30. The noise is pretty loud.
Front desk offered breakfast vouchers but their breakfast is just ok and we had breakfast plans for the rest of our trip.
It was pretty
Didn’t know where to go in at to check in, too many entrances. When going to pool had to go through conference area and through whole lot of people and entire building to get there.
The room, service, and property was beautiful. We enjoyed walking around. It felt like a maze to find things but we found that exciting and we were given a map at the beginning of our stay.
There were too many families there. Way too many kids in the pool. I think they should consider better lighting for the pool area and offer an hour or two at the end of the night for just adults.
Room size and location
Bad plumbing. Faucet just lifted off, shower could not be directed to just using shower head.
Elevator to 3rd floor in bad shape and needs repair cosmetic and mechanical.
