Pros:

Il s'agissait du dernier hôtel de notre séjour et cela a permis de finir notre voyage de la meilleure manière. Très bon emplacement dans la ville, le quartier est calme et très agréable pour se balader de jour comme de nuit. L'hôtel est beau et il s'agit des plus grandes chambres que nous avons eu de tout notre séjour. Le prix peut paraitre élevé au vu des autres hôtels, mais cela en vaut le coup.

Sèches linges peu efficaces, mais problème commun aux autres hôtels expérimentés

Great boutique hotel central to all sights and activities.
Pros:

We loved Hotel Gion Ichirin! The historic details but modern touch made for a memorable stay. The fact that it was also in a prime location in the Gion area was fantastic. We appreciated being in close proximity to all the action but still able to find solace and quiet when needed. It is a quick walk to all the major shopping, food, and historic areas. The massage chair in our room was put to use daily! The staff were all so great and welcomed us! Highly recommend as your option in Kyoto.

The most incredible stay at the most incredible property!
Pros:

How anyone can have anything even remotely negative to say about this place is beyond me. The most amazing hotel in the most amazing location with the most amazing people. Gorgeous, clean, spacious, with a rooftop private onsen?! Are you kidding me? I loved EVERYTHING about this place. If ever i should return to Kyoto I will be coming back to this amazing place.

Cons:

If i had to make one critique, its that closet space is a little lacking. But thats really it. Everything else was amazing!

Bliss!
Pros:

This beautiful little hotel was truly wonderful. We expected it to be good based on recommendations, but it was beyond a doubt the best place we stayed on our current trip - and we stayed in some good ones. It looked stunning, with its minimalist Japanese design, and offered lovely little extras, such as drinks in the lounge which also had a fabulous collection of books on Japanese design and culture, the private bath (on top of the one in our room), free pastries for breakfast or an inexpensive delicious Japanese breakfast. The staff were attentive and thoughtful, without being obtrusive - things just happened gently and quietly as needed.

Cons:

I don't believe this experience could have been improved on. It is exactly the kind of experience that suits our tastes.
If you like the kind of hotel where bellboys/girls will run after you and bow and scrape, this may not be the place for you, though.

Wonderful, book it!
Pros:

We had the spa suite and it was wonderful. The outside bath, inside spa, stone sauna room were a nice way to unwind after the usual 20,000 steps a day in Japan!

Cons:

The room was beautiful, it was very private and well appointed. The beds were very comfortable and spa room incredible.

Pros:

Excellent location in Gion, a stone’s throw from main sites like Kiyomizudera, Ninenzaka, and Kodaiji Temple. The staff are extremely friendly and hospitable. The breakfast pastries and coffee/matcha in the morning are a lovely touch.
