Pros:

Breakfast was good value and yummy
Room had beautiful view and was clean and tidy
Laundry was very good too
Other guests were friendly to talk to.
Staff were very helpful and very polite

Cons:

The second lift wasn't working so had to wait but not for long

Great staff, but definitely under staffed. That is all I can really say about our stay unfortunately.

Cons:

The hotel is badly outdated and in much need of a makeover. Upon entering, the hotel had a musty smell throughout and it didn’t get better as we entered our room. One elevator was out of service and the other elevator needed to be put out of service with the way it was operating. We stayed in a two bedroom room, and although it seemed to have been cleaned it still looked and felt dirty. We saw several cockroaches roaming around late at night in the kitchen, both TV’s were not in working order and and woke up itchy throughout the night. I had booked for a 4 night stay with my family, but could only bear two nights there and we left to stay somewhere else. Based off our experience here, I cannot recommend this hotel. Very disappointed.

Disappointing for a Novotel
Pros:

Location was excellent

Cons:

The property was under major construction making it difficult to access the room or enjoy the central open area of the hotel. There was only one lift working and this also seemed tentative. Staff failed to warn of the inconvenience of construction work prior to arrival and seemed dismissive of any comments.

Enjoyed the stay, hotel looks tired
Pros:

The Location was excellent.
The room was good, the bathroom was not as clean as one would expect.
The staff were excellent

Cons:

Only one lift was working. The other lift made some concerning sounds.
On the morning we left ,as we and 4 others were coming down the lift there was a huge bang and the lift stopped mid floor from the first to the ground floor. The emergency call did not respond. Fortunately, the lift has the glass side from which we were able to communicate finally with a staff member. We inside the lift prized open the door at the same time the staff member opened the outside door. We were supported in climbing out of the lift on a small step ladder to the ground floor.

Pros:

All staff exceptional. Friendly helpful

Cons:

The room had been upgraded. Not restocked adequately. Very minimal supplies, minimal staff, overworked.
General areas are so outdated. Needs new carpet, paint, furniture. Chair covers filthy.

Easy distance to walk to some of Darwin’s attractions by the water, Parliament House, nice cafes etc.
Pros:

On esplanade overlooking ocean

Cons:

Just needs a deep clean to thoroughly clean dirty shower ( in ground black stuff on grout) and whole bathroom, other than that it was good

Disappointing
Pros:

The breakfast wasnt too bad.

Cons:

Disappointed with the room and for the price we booked a waterview room at a very high rate and it was not very clean. Complained and was offered another room, but the room was tiny dark and looked into a apartment next door with no storage or bench space. We were given complimentry breakfast. The pool area wasnt very clean and dull.
