I was upgraded to a king which I enjoyed more than my last stay
lighting in the bathroom is not great. Curtains I couldn't roll down the lever that takes it up and down was not working
Good location, easy transport links. Bar/restaurant in hotel but short walk to so many great food places. Loved the games room also. Maria was great at check in and helped us work the air con when we couldn’t figure it out.
No tea/coffee in room, only available in the morning in the lobby. $35 per night service charge added on check in, mentioned local taxes when booking but not amount.
This is my first time staying here, and it’s been a wonderful experience so far! The hotel is beautiful, the interior is stunning, and my room is fantastic. I was even given a great upgrade, which made my stay even better. A special thank you to Madz at the front desk—she was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and made check-in a great experience. I truly appreciate her excellent customer service. I would definitely recommend this hotel!
I was staying after a 16-hour flight. The lady in the front desk couldn't accommodate me to check like 2 hours earlier than the official check-in time, even though I offered to pay for the extra day. To be quite honest, the immediate surroundings of the hotel are kind of scary, filled with homeless people doing all kinds of things. I did not feel safe walking around the hotel's location.
The hotel has quite of a dark vibe to it, so did the room, lights all very dark, zero views, dark carpet. Everything was kind of dark. That, the surroundings, the lack of understanding while coming from a 16 hour flight which you could tell from my face how absolutely tired I was. I wouldn't stay here ever again.
Great central location, very comfortable beds, large TV in the room, quirky aesthetic, perfect for a few days in the city.
Rooms were a little on the small side, barn style sliding door to bathroom had a gap either side when closed which wasn't ideal 🤣
This place was seriously impressive! It's super clean, totally modern, and has this really trendy and funky vibe. I loved that they're eco-friendly too with free water refills and incentives to stay green. The location is perfect for food places and public transport with muni/bart for access to whole bay area and airport, and the food was absolutely delicious and free beverages in the morning was really good. Also the free games room is very good for families. But the real standout was Maria at reception – she was exceptionally helpful and friendly, making our stay even better and ensured we never had any issues and always personally greeted us everytime we entered/left.
Maria at the front desk was great!! Hotel is super nice.
Overall hotel was nice - the bed was comfortable and although located in a busy part of the city it felt quite peaceful at the hotel.
Staff were friendly
The option to also chose whether to have your room cleaned daily was nice - and when you didn't you got a voucher to use at the hotel bar which was quite a nice touch
While clean it did feel a little dated in places
Our room was by the elevator and it was a little noisy - we did flag this to reception to see if we could switch, however they advised they were fully booked so unable to do (we got used to it in the end)
WiFi was a bit temperamental on a couple of the days
Ben at the check in was probably the nicest human I’ve ever met! The check In process was super easy, and Ben made sure to make us feel
So welcomed. The hotel atmosphere was awesome! Definitely will be staying here next time we visit San Francisco
Not my favorite, but ok if you want a central location. Good and bad factors -
Good: First, the hotel upgraded us to a suite, which was very appreciated due to the spacious interior. The lobby was cool and gave off a rock-n-roll vibe. Check-in was easy and quick; hostess was welcoming and friendly. Good instructions to get to the room in a second tower were provided orally and printed on the key sleeve (thank you!). This hotel was in an excellent location if you want to stay near Union Square. It was close to lots of high-end shopping, an easy walk to Chinatown, and some great restaurants. Several car rental places were within walking distance if you are venturing outside of the city. The bathroom in the room was cute and roomy.
Just Okay: The overall price was okay for the city with impending World Cup tourism, but kind of inflated for the decor.
Not So Good: The decor was tired both in the room and in the upper hallways. The halls had a very musty fragrance- would have rather they pipe in some kind of scent because it smelled like mildew and cooked broccoli. Carpets seemed to be fading along the edge. The room (with the exception of the bathroom) was just plain-jane white walls, cheap furniture. There was a floor lamp with a hanging shade that we kept hitting our heads on. The bed was not at all comfortable.
Would I stay there again? Probably not. Did it work for our 2-night stay? Yes, it was ok.
Maria was a great host and had all the answers we needed. She made our experience wonderful and if we come back, we will be staying at the Zepplin.
I have stayed at this hotel few times. Great location and good rooms. Especially appreciate the great front desk and all of Maria’s help. Will come back again.
My partner and I had a great experience at Hotel Zeppelin. The location was convenient for activities near the Civic Center and easily getting to public transportation. The staff was helpful and welcoming while being very professional. The room was clean and spacious. The game room/floor and posh-rocker vibes made it a memorable place to stay.
We found the male Asian receptionist very rude. He didn’t look up for a few minutes when we arrived to check in and wasn’t helpful with telling us details of where our room was or anything about the hotel in general . However the room was clean although small . We overlooked what looked like a lot of flats that were extremely noisy where a dog was barking outside for hours when we wanted to sleep. The rooftop pool area was lovely and some great views. Pool was lush too . It also had a great variety of that had a happy hour between 3-5 and a games room downstairs with free pool and basketball games . Overall a good hotel base .
Truly can’t beat the location! Stayed here with last-minute plans to visit San Francisco for a casual, celebratory Pride 2026 reunion weekend. Hotel Zeppelin matched the pace fabulously from the start. Place strikes a rare and wonderful combo offering appeal and character that reads ‘fashionably nostalgic’ while ‘authentically S.F.’. Our room (Accessible Standard Queen) was extremely comfortable (plush AF beds, people…), spotlessly clean (I’m a harsh judge admittedly), cool (I’ll say it again), offered reasonable privacy (thank god), and delightfully spacious even with the downtown address. In the end Hotel Zeppelin offered us amazing value and we’d highly recommend it to most any type, size etc production enterprise. One last but important message would be a very heartfelt, sincere THANK YOU to MARIA and KRIS at the front desk, who went to remarkable lengths today to ensure that our complete experience, following through long after a late checkout, was handled securely and with maximal care and convenience. Thanks to their distinctly gracious care, demonstrated accountability, and high agency mindset, the two stepped in with the cool, easy, smart attentiveness that may have just saved the day—or at least significant chaos and inconvenience for us that certainly would not have left us with the peace and gratitude with left with later that day. Put another way, their actions had an impact much like the goodwill of friend that’s trusted to have your back and vie for your singular best outcome. MARIA and KRIS may not recognize or suspect the practical extent of their impact, but your simple kindness really did mean a great deal today. Thank you.
Booked this after having to cancel a previous booking and honestly wish I booked this place in the first instance as it did not disappoint. The staff were friendly and the restaurant that’s located beside the hotel is super convenient.
Nothing to mention, it was great.
