Location
Parking behind hotel is inadequate and small. We had to park on the street and pay for parking.
Beautiful common areas, lovely historic hotel close to everything. All in all a perfectly fine place to stay. Rooms are small but that is almost always the case in older hotels. Didn’t bother me.
Parking, while free and appreciated, was a bit of a situation. Happy to have free parking however.
Also, attention to detail in the maintenance of the rooms was lacking. Bathroom was very tired, worn tub with grungy caulking etc.
I like the location and the spacious room..
Although it seemed clean , it had an old smell to it. Did not like the tv situation - it was a Roku system and complicated for us ! Could not find anything live such as a soccer or mlb game, could not even get a news channel - it was quite frustrating. Also the elevator was not working. The worst part of our stay was the parking. The area they have fir parking is very small and two rows park back to back so if you want to utilize it, you must leave your keys at the front desk so they can move your car - if it’s blocking someone else- which we did, however at 7:30 am we got a call from the front desk to come down and move the car - because they did not have enough staff available to move it.
Overall, staff were pleasant , bed was comfortable, it was a neat old building and was nice to have a restaurant attached, location was good - but won’t stay there again, will pay a little more for something newer, even if it means paying for parking.
Bien situé dans le centre-ville.
Il y a beaucoup d'iitineransbo autour et on ne sait pas de quoi s'attendre avec eux mais toutes les portes sont verrouillées en tout temps
Very nice place, clean and comfortable.
A bit noisy with bar next door.
Location pub antiques
Bed
The location is historic and convenient by walking to other landmarks from the same era. I love the old architecture and marvel at the use of fine woods used, and the craftsmanship… using non- electric tools!
Parking is a little concerning because it’s rather limited, also the need to allow staff to shuffle our vehicle around is unusual. Having said that, we often/ generally are parked in the open at other motels/ hotels. The difference is the Hotel Senator is downtown. The other thing was the pub was much to loud that evening ( an entertainer), causing us to go around the corner to the pub on 2nd Ave… where thankfully had a much more reasonable sound level.
Great location for meetings I attended
All good
A lot creepy people around the hotel
The hotel is in a VERY good location. That is the main positive characteristic of the place. It has an oldish style which makes the place interesting and cozy. It also has a good restaurant attached to it which makes lunch and dinner convenient for guests.
The parking is not well managed. It is limited (not available for all guests) and is based on a first come/first served basis. The opening and closing of the gate depends on the receptionist at the counter to look at screen on the counter to see you're there. It takes some time for you to get in and out because of that. You have to call them to let them know you want to get in or out. It would be a lot more convenient if guests had a key (similar to a room key) to access it and not depend on the receptionist to see you and open the gate.
The Hotel is near some good restaurants and the river walk
The hotel is getting quite rundown. The parking is very limited, first come first serve and you can also get blocked in. The hotel has a lot of security so one wonders how much crime is in the area. The mattresses need to replaced. The beds are worn out, saggy and uncomfortable, much much too old.
Breakfast was continental breakfast.
Enough to get the day started.
However it was very sweet. Thanks for the oranges and apples to offset the sweetness.
Hotel Senator is a beautiful hotel but it could need updating…..
Good location
