Conviente stay near airport.
Pros:

Amazing airport hotel
Pros:

I booked the Sheraton Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta Airport Hotel as a way to break up a long UAE to Australia journey, and it turned out to be a very good choice. Jakarta is not necessarily the easiest city for a short transit because of the traffic, so I wanted somewhere close to the airport, comfortable, and easy to manage for one night.

The hotel has recently been renovated and has more of a resort feel than a typical airport hotel. The lobby is modern and welcoming, and my room was spacious, clean and clearly refreshed, even if not completely rebuilt from scratch. The grounds are pleasant, with gardens, courtyards and a nice pool area. It is not a huge resort, but it is a very comfortable and attractive property, especially considering its airport location.

One of the strongest points was the staff. I had not been to Indonesia for more than 25 years, and the service here made a great impression. The team were young, enthusiastic, professional, friendly, and spoke excellent English. I was greeted warmly throughout the stay, and several staff remembered my name, which was a lovely touch.

The rooms also have excellent soundproofing. Being so close to the airport, I expected some aircraft noise, but it was very quiet inside. The trade-off is that the rooms do not appear to have balconies or terraces, but for an airport hotel this is completely understandable.

A few practical notes: the complimentary airport shuttle is useful, but be aware that the hotel may try to collect several guests from different flights at the same time, so there can be some waiting around after arrival. The pickup instructions are helpful, but the shuttle area can still be a little confusing. In simple terms, it is outside and right down at the end of the terminal building.

The hotel itself is also quite isolated. It is not really walking distance to shops, convenience stores or other restaurants, so if you are staying for more than one night, or arriving late, it may be worth picking up snacks or drinks at the airport before heading to the hotel. There is one main restaurant and a smaller eatery onsite, which is fine for a short stay.

My onward flight was not until 9 p.m. the following day, and I was able to extend my room until 6 p.m. for around US$69. That made the stay extremely convenient and meant I effectively had a full 24-hour stopover in comfort.

Overall, this is far above the standard of many airport hotels. It is comfortable, attractive, well-run, and very convenient for a long transit through Jakarta. I would happily stay here again if breaking up another journey between the Middle East and Australia.

By far the best hotel near Jakarta airport, best rooms, best service and a huge pool

Rooms are spacious and updated, very comfortable!

Cons:

The rooms could have a Nespresso machine. Airport hotel guests are travellers often jet lagged. It would be a reason for me to book the hotel by default. The hotel lacks a comfortable lobby lounge where you can enjoy drinks and relax

Das Frühstück könnte verbessert werden. Die Auswahl muss nicht umfangreich sein, jedoch sollten Frische und Qualität besser sein.

Die meisten Gäste übernachten nur als Stopover-Gäste. Deshalb braucht man eigentlich keine sehr große Auswahl, sondern eher frisches Essen von guter Qualität.

Je suis mitigée. Le service était pas exceptionnel. Nous avions aucune valise car la compagnie aérienne les avait oublié et nous nous sommes retrouvés sans rien (ni habit ni sac rien du tout) et l’hôtel nous a été d’aucune aide. Aussi, la première chambre était pas celle que nous avions réservé (on avait réservé une vue sur jardin on s’est retrouvé vue route) et c’était malodorant. On nous a changé de chambre ensuite vue jardin et sans odeur. Mauvais rapport qualité/prix
